Last night this diddy guy was trying to convince BMJ that the blackjack side bets are decreasing his expected payout. He was so committed to this that he juiced BMJ on the condition that he read “Wizard of Odds” (or at least Bossman’s word that he would, and we all know how much his word is worth). I think he might actually be a tech-illiterate boomer.

I bet it doesn't say in the book - "if you win a couple of hands in a row, go all-in until you bust".

Anyone that's watched Bossman for longer than 5 mins, must have noticed he has no interest in a strategy or appreciation for odds.

Unless you count "never leave while you're winning because you're on a heater & never leave while you're losing because its due" as a strategy.

And as a tech-illiterate boomer myself, I'd advise this guy to send the book up the internet pipes, through the server ducts and directly into Bossman's bag of microchips.

I have no doubt that there is a glimmer of self-awareness (“my life sucks; I lost it all man”) but I don’t think he believes there is any hope for him outside of hitting it big either on slots or as a streamer. He feels like those are his only options and anything else will never be as filling. Every once in a while a bit of sense shines through and he talks about the rush he gets when he almost wins, but it always goes away soon after when he gets more money to toss straight into the pit. It’s a unique kind of depressing situation because he is not trapped, he’s not homeless, he has every opportunity to start a career (better late than never) and do anything else, even still tossing a few bucks in from sponsor money if he really wants. But he won‘t do this he will continue to gamble ad nauseum and when he does hit miraculous wins every red cent will go back into gambling.
