Disaster Nikki Haley Wants You to Verify Your Identity on Social Media - You got me, Madam Ambassador. My real name is Ethan Oliver Ralph.

GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley says people need to use their true identities on social media.

The former US ambassador to the United Nations made an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday, where she called for tighter policing of social media platforms.

"It is why when I get into office, the first thing we have to do, social media companies, they have to show America their algorithms. Let us see why they're pushing what they're pushing," Haley said about her priorities should she win the presidency.

"The second thing is every person on social media should be verified by their name," she continued.

Earlier in the interview, Haley blamed foreign countries for sowing divisions within the US by spreading misinformation on social media.

"The truth is, if you look at social media, the misinformation and the dramatic sides of social media are instigating this. Why? Because it's being pushed by Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea," Haley said.

Haley said this was why her proposals would be necessary to counter the "national security threat" posed by anonymous social media accounts and social media bots.

"When you do that, all of a sudden people have to stand by what they say, and it gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots, and the Chinese bots," Haley said.

"And then you're gonna get some civility when people know their name is next to what they say, and they know their pastor and their family member's gonna see it. It's gonna help our kids and it's gonna help our country," she continued.

Social media platforms have become a source of contention among Haley and her fellow presidential candidates.

During last week's GOP debate, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy sidestepped a question on how he would ban TikTok by saying that Haley's own daughter has been on the platform "for a long time."

"Leave my daughter out of your voice," Haley fired back at Ramaswamy. "You are just scum."

On Tuesday, Ramaswamy slammed Haley's proposals on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"This is a flagrant violation of the Constitution and straight out of the Democrats' playbook," Ramaswamy wrote.

"Any politician who thinks it's OK for the government to use the private sector as its censorship bureau shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the White House," he added.

A representative for the Haley campaign told Business Insider that Haley's proposals were "common sense."

"We all know that America's enemies use anonymous bots to spread anti-American lies and sow chaos and division within our borders. Nikki believes social media companies need to do a better job of verifying users so we can crack down on Chinese, Iranian, and Russian bots," the representative said.

Is this bitch suggesting I'm not a 500 year-old Augustinian monk?
a) Get Fucked, and
b) Prove it, nigger.
Exactly.

This dumb slut also just ASSumed my gender and race.
Fucking bigot.
I could be a middle aged strawberry blond bong
OR
I could be an abject faggot with a bad toupee

Cancel this bitch.

The beauty of the internet is that the ideas written on it stand on the weight of the idea and if it is unpopular, but compelling, the author doesn't face a cancel campaign because of it. If Señor Twinkletits makes a compelling argument against government overreach, he's not going to face consequences for it. If we've learned anything over the last few years, the left is fucking rabid and will go after you if you voice an unpopular opinion (or a popular opinion that later becomes unpopular).

The fucking Federalist papers, that espoused the ideas that lead to the creation of United States, were written under pseudonyms specifically because the author's would face reprisals had their true identity's been known. Anonymity is the entire point, you can vote for whom you want and not be punished should your side lose. Marrying the ideas espoused on the internet to a legal name would do nothing but stifle free speech.

If I lived in San Francisco and voiced support for Trump online.... how long would I remain employed? I'm in a management and forward facing position in my company, how great would the pressure be on them to relieve me?

At this point, the folks who are hoping to rule us (and I'm intentionally not saying 'Represent us') have gotten so authoritarian that they are saying the quiet part out loud. It's on both sides too.

Who can forget Biden's attempt to merge Mary Poppins with the Ministry of Truth or the federal government's blatant censorship of 'wrong think' during the Covid era?

Put your name on your posts criticizing the government, have them go viral and see how many times you get audited by the IRS.

I'm of the perhaps unfair opinion that before anyone either proposing or involved with the idea of anonymous internet usage being removed gets even a shred of credibility every single bit of their personal internet usage needs to be available for the general public. If they're willing to stand by their convictions maybe I'll hear them out.

Until then get stuffed.

Nope. The reason why everything is bad online is precisely because much of them require your actual identity.

The issue of posting your actual identity online has three problems. First is that it puts you in direct line of fire. Anything you say can and will be used against you. Secondly, it makes you much more easier to market towards. Stuff you search with your identity online will ensure that any electronic you have will be fed the same ads you saw online while browsing. Lastly, because of the aformentioned you being in the direct line of fire, you cannot express what you want to express. You have to go with the herd unless you're fine with being ostracized. Normies cannot deal with the last one. Gamers can because they are outcasts in the first place. Which is part of the reason why normies who post about themselves online go batshit insane quickly whereas gamers give no shits if they scream nigger at each other every 5 seconds. There is a reason why before the Internet became corponet there was a rule. "Never post your identity online."

Online anonymity effectively solves all these problems. No need to worry about your actual identity being harmed and you can say whatever you want and truly be honest. The internet was better for it. But that is precisely why they are doing everything they can to turn the Internet into a complete corponet. To the point they require you to have your identity tied to your electronics if you want to unlock all its features such as disabling unwanted features. Control as usual.

Glen Greenwald and Jimmy Dore talk about this.

tldr if Nikki gets the nomination (optimistic i know)

There's a reason they hired (and armed) 80,000 new IRS agents............ they're not just going to audit you, they're hoping you get audited so much you get "violent" with one of them on your doorstep.....

What a surprise that the biggest warmonger and tool of the MIC running for President is also for a Panopticon of controlled speech.

Outside of mega donors and media stenographers her only real base of support is Karens who buy her 'criticism of me is sexism' line (AKA former PUMAs-remember those from 2008?) and probably some Lincoln Project sociopaths. Although after hearing this talking point I bet Liz Fong Jones is ready to sign up on the Haley train.
