This "definition" and all of its variants crack me up. It's one of those things that, on the surface, if you don't really think about it, sounds okay. However, if you take more than ten seconds to actually analyze and think about it, it quickly breaks down and makes no sense at all.

To simplify this definition, "woman" means "nothing in particular." It is a meaningless definition. It's basically a really deceitful, roundabout way of saying "a woman is anybody who says they are a woman," which means absolutely nothing. Congratulations, you have completely obliterated the definition of woman to nothingness! What is a woman? Nothing in particular, it's just whoever says they are one.

That's the only definition porn sick men in dresses will accept. Any definition that's actually based in reality and has any actual useful meaning just reminds them how farcical they look to anyone outside their hugbox (including themselves, if they're being honest, which is why they need constant reassurance ie people lying to them).

Exactly. No other definition could possibly work.

You can't say "a woman is an adult human female," because then all "trans-women" are not women, by definition.
You can't say "a woman is an adult human female or a person who has gotten surgery and treatments to transition," because then it invalidates all of the troons who can't afford/do not want/haven't yet attained surgery or treatments. So that's out.
You can't say "a woman is someone with feminine personality traits and/or mannerisms," because then that invalidates the millions of women out there who don't do those things, and also includes millions of men who do exhibit those traits but still call themselves men.
You can't say "a woman is not a man," because that makes no sense. You cannot define something by what it is not. I could say the definition of a squirrel is "something that isn't a dog," but that doesn't tell me what a squirrel actually is.

There's no other definition that they can use that doesn't invalidate either them or other real women, so this is the best they've got, and - to nobody's great surprise - it's absolutely vapid and meaningless, just like the trans people themselves.

Does mastectomy reversal depend on how much good skin & tissue is left? Can it even be reversed? They can just live in padded bras if all else fails.

The problem with "reversal" as a concept is kind of the same as people assuming their genitals can be inverted/added to with perfect function, like flesh Lego.

Yes, you can build something that looks like breasts; plenty of women with breast cancer have delayed reconstruction. But the options are autograft tissue, which gives you more sites to heal, or implants, which are a medical device and will need their own maintenance. The breasts won't look the same, and they won't feel the same--to you, the erstwhile breast-haver who lives in the body. Add to that that when you move your arms, you move your chest; this is a long and painful recovery, if it fully recovers.

I ran across something interesting while I was looking for an infographic. Susan G Komen is a fuck, but they have an op-ed by a breast cancer survivor (archive) who decided to "go flat." As a non-pooner, she thought long and hard about it, but more relevant to the gender scientists, she discovered that the statistic cited of breast cancer patients preferring breast reconstruction after mastectomy was based all along on a flawed follow-up survey:

And then a new study came out that confirmed everything I’d been feeling. It turns out, many previous studies relied on a questionnaire that was originally developed to measure women’s satisfaction with their reconstructive surgery. The questions include a number that are simply not relevant to a woman who chose not to have reconstruction. If you don’t have breasts there’s no good answer to, “How satisfied are you with the way your bra fits?” It’s hardly surprising, then, that studies that relied on this tool seemed to indicate that women who had reconstruction were more satisfied than those who did not.

The doctors who conducted the new study wanted to measure women’s satisfaction with their decision NOT to reconstruct, and with the flat closures they were given. Recognizing the flaw in the existing methodology, they developed a new questionnaire in collaboration with members of the flat advocacy community. And lo and behold, when they eliminated questions that were biased toward reconstruction, it turned out that flat women were every bit as satisfied with their choice as those who had reconstruction.

Perhaps their most eye-opening finding was that, while only 64% of respondents were initially offered the option of going flat, the strongest predictors of satisfaction were “having adequate information about surgical options and surgeon support of the patient’s decision to go flat.” In other words, women aren’t happier when they have reconstruction; they’re happier when they’re fully informed of their options and supported in whatever choice they make.

That's a lot more follow-up than the troons get post-surgery.

Officially my second trooniversary today

2 years hrt let’s look back and see what I’ve got to show for it:

- Only out to my mom. I avoid talking to her about it as much as possible because I’m ashamed and she’s kinda wishy washy in the way she treats the topic. Occasionally she will gender me correctly, but then she’ll go on to tell me I’m a grown ass man or something like that.

- 3 instances of being called ma’am followed by either a rapid self correction or just staring

- Lots of weird looks from old people

- Told by coworkers that I look like tarzan, lord faarquad, various long haired pro wrestlers, weird al, the grudge

- Manmoding with no end in sight, no voice training, crippling anxiety over being seen that makes life nearly unlivable

So yeah tbh things aren’t looking good haha. I still can’t really convince myself that it was a bad idea to do this or that I regret it. Regardless, I think I have plenty reason to be pessimistic about the future. To me it looks like the only real outcomes are either suicide or detrans at this point. Sucks that I can’t be one of the lucky ones for whom this is a joyous occasion.

We've kept chickens since I was a kid. They aren't stupid at all. If you've ever watched a pack of hens hunting a mouse they are horrifyingly efficient predators. They are miniature velociraptors.
They can also be affectionate and friendly with the humans they recognize.

What I find really funny is that the old definition isn't even transphobic. Yes, transwomen aren't female, but they're not women either and they have no problem calling themselves women. I truly don't understand why they just go "I am an adult human female" instead of whatever nonsense they babble out about "women = stereotypes". Sure, it's a lie. But so is everything else they say, is another lie really too much?

Spoiler: How to afford college after disowning your family?

Hey guys, so the title sounds a bit drastic but I couldn’t figure out how to write it out so bear with me while I explain myself.

I am a pre-T guy who passes without it (but plans to go on it through DIY HRT online services during the summer as soon as I turn 18 against my parents back) so dorming/safety won’t be a problem. But the issue is that I cannot transition for more than 3 months on T and change my name WHILE in college due to my parents being anti-transgender and will definitely stop paying my tuition unless I conform. I am unwilling to live as a woman for longer than I have to due to my mental health becoming increasingly worse.

So is there a way that I can find help to prepare for when that happens? I plan on completely cutting my parents off cold turkey because if I do speak to them about the fact I am trans I’m not sure if I’ll be safe to do so since my parents are both physically and mentally abusive. I also have at least 10k in scholarships- which is about half of what the school costs per year- if that matters. I’m really lost and I just don’t think I can stand to visit and live with my parents on and off through the school year just to afford college.

I get that this is our only point of comparison because of the total insanity of the current day. However, I'm not sure that it applies in practise. There is a huge psychological difference between getting breasts removed due to cancer or significant risk of cancer, and getting them removed to be cool.

I have family members with BRCA1 and CHEK2, its horrific to watch. They have no regrets about removal of breast tissue or ovaries once their families are completed. Even then, its not a guarantee against a horrific death.

I feel like the people who get breasts reconstructed after surviving a deadly illness are significantly different from those who do so after a passing fad, so the satisfaction rates wouldn't be the same. It would be really interesting to see results from detransitioners.

What this does do, expensively, is let them feel the difference between a True and Honest breast and a simulacrum. Hopefully it at least implants the idea that we can't just tack random bits on to bodies. However, the existence of FtMtFtMs negates this. What a depressing state of affairs.

I'd never been particularly sympathetic towards small snakes and frogs until I saw three or four hens ripping them apart alive to eat on the spot. On the flip side, I did at one point like raccoons, possums, skunks and similar, but I have now been woken up at two in the morning too many times to the final terrified screams of a hen and rushed out to find some furry fuck dragging the limp body of a girl I'd pet hours earlier off into the woods. I don't really know what my point is here other than that all animals are fucking brutal monsters and that people are way too removed from the casual barbarity of life.

What's doubly hilarious is, just recently, there was a "women in tech" conference that had a bunch of big-name companies like Google and Meta in attendance. Of course, since the meaning of "woman" is so dubious now, and since you're allowed to self-identify as whatever you want when you register, a bunch of men signed up and listed themselves as non-binary to get into the conference, and they were just let in, much to the chagrin of the women there. Suddenly, at that exact moment, everybody knew what a woman was, but there was literally no defense they could mount against it.

Those are the rules you made, ladies. Who are you to challenge the self-identity of the non-binary folks? They're totally heckin' valid, and you're all evil transphobes!
