I always found it funny as well, especially considering that in most states the age of consent is 16, just like in most of the world. Funny still is that it is in the states with the most fucked up cities like California or New York that have a legal age of consent of 18 or 17. The zealousness around this legal boundary is certainly very strange when even within USA it is the minority opinion.

Law is the law and it should be respected, of course, but it does make you wonder: would those same spastics be just as outraged if overnight the age of consent was lowered to 16? Or would they be fine with fucking a 16 year old then? I don't live in USA so I always found that to be weird.
