Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and SOCOM general - The most "Special" groups in the U.S. Military

I'm happy the OP gained traction and is a topic that engages you. I'm not a mod and cannot and do not want to tell you what to do. However, I have some suggestions to prevent this thread from going to shit and that would keep us in topic. (Having said that, you can post whatever you like)

Mainly, I would like for us to remain on topic with specific events or people around the SEAL community. If you can, post specific sources or information we can verify, add new individuals that fit the SEAL or former criteria. Also, I'd like to see opinions on those specific SEALs or the community.

I'm sure SOCOM and the Special forces of all around the world are full of milk and content, however, I'd like to have a solid OP for the SEALs ITT. For the time being at least, since they are the most famous spec ops in America, and so we can remain a bit on topic.

Do post material from other SOCOM branches though, and if we find enough material for another thread we can merge this into. “SOCOM general” or make “Green Berets and Delta general,” or maybe just one big “lolcows of military special forces general”. I'd ask you to just mention in some way that is “Not SEAL related” so I can save it for later, if a new merge or thread is created.

On a separate note, I think the “Stolen Valor lolcows” deserve a separate thread, since it's a huge topic, but if we add it here, we let the real ones off the hook. It is a very interesting topic, and going down that rabbit hole could be fun.
Do let me know your thoughts.

This came across my feed today and I thought it would fit very well.

Mr. Ballen is a HIGHLY successful creepy pasta reader, who I found has been recently doing some Navy Seals promotion.
Well he has been getting messages from the people who he literally took bullets for that ejected him from the community.

That part of the Seal world are some jealous bitches.

Military full stop is full of retardation. Spec Ops shit is gay shit for gay men. Want to an effective military? Build a system so stupid that morons can operate within it without breaking it. Make it big and quick, see how many wars you win. This is actually why Americans were scary in WW2. This environment creates retards of the highest caliber. Want some fun stories, explore any major military town.

The SpecOps explosion is fueled by the Wunderwaffe mentality being applied to men instead of the technology they use. Expect it to worsen as the recruiting crisis causes the military to begin recruiting (or perhaps even conscripting) the semi-literate browns who have fled across our border, few of whom will even be trainable up to minimum rank and file standards.

I wonder how big their egos will get when they only have said semi-literate browns to compare themselves to. Will they LARP as aristocrats?

Wasn't Dan Bilzrian associated with the SEALS?
what i found on that, it sounds like he was dropped from the program just before graduation, so he did not graduate
i am pretty sure he is a full on grifter too but i dont remember everything, lots of youtube videos made about him
"Bilzerian entered the Navy SEAL training program in 2000; however, after several attempts, he did not graduate. He was reportedly dropped from the program"

“Safety violation on the shooting range” huh. I know about that. Sociopathy comes with poor impulse control. Good riddance. Had he moved into the SEALs, they would have ended up with another Gallagher.

Regular army never liked spooks, regardless of branches. They are the ones sneaking behind lines and murdering innocent people to set up the enemy, they are the ones planting explosives in houses, abducting and torturing people.
Commiting horrid crimes and calling it "patriotism". Spooks are the symptom of post-industrial era sicknesses.

IMO the main focus of this thread does indeed deserve to be on the SEALs because of all the SF units inside NATO, they have the worst problem with having ultraviolent nutcases in their ranks. Comparisons to other units is inevitable because they aren't exactly unique to the SEALs specifically so derails to talk about say, the problems caused by the Green Berets, JTF2, SAS, or Deltas will happen.

Stolen Valor def deserves it's own thread because there are indeed a lot of people who will wear the uniform for discounts and to say they do something they never would.

One more thing. Include a brief section about what SF should be, as exemplified by SGM Mike Vining. After all, he is the exemplary quiet professional who knew to keep his mouth shut, has an extremely normal life and he only got noticed after his career because of this picture.

I don't know if there is enough milk here to make a dozen generals. I think for now, one military cow thread with a focus on SEALs would be good enough, unless there is one or two in particular who will take over the thread.

Not to pat myself on the back, but the GunTuber General with a spinoff for Karl Kasarda plus or minus @SinistralRifleman seems to have worked pretty well, and that second thread was almost entirely sourced from the first.

We just would need a hyper-tactical name for it.

I know it's the Navy and all, but unless they bend the rules and break the law by applying red make-up to their cheeks, the word you're looking for is 'rogue'.
You have a good eye for detail. Have you considered a career as a SEAL sniper? (lol thanks for the tip, fixed it. It was a very funny typo indeed)

Thanks for the all around input. It's only fair to add the ideal for an SF. Will do!

mild pl but some of my close family worked for the Department of Defense as research engineers and what the DoD found regarding PTSD was damning. Even just for rank and file grunts in Marines and Army, it was clear that what was being inflicted was a mental illness that was, for all intents and purposes, totally debilitating. And we still don't really know how to do anything about it. Add into that the concussive brain injuries that come with war in general and what you got was the military keeping an eye on this stuff since the 70's and simultaneously telling everyone that knew about it to shut the fuck up lest Jimbob rub two brain cells together and re evaluate his decision to sign that dotted line.

All that is to say I bet you're on to something with this thread because the abnormal psychology needed to want to join something like SF/SEAL + the effects of combat as known will definitely lead to a personality cesspit begetting plenty of milk.

Kiwi Farms thread on Navy Seals ? "good" .
I loved the 80s movie, read Marcinko's books when I was a kid. The whole "operator scene is really gay between the real dudes and the Blaha types its all high faggotry. I used to watch Don Shipley but the whole stolen valor shit is to much, I somewhat understand it because no one likes a poseur in any scene.
