Robocop - Dead or alive, you're coming with me

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The diplomacy options are bugged: you need the exact requirement, such as Deduction 5, for certain choices to appear; it's not "Deduction 5 or above."

I tried Terminator Resistance after this. I'm not sure where the idea that it's better than Robocop is coming from. It feels a lot emptier at the start; does it get better later or such?

No. It's still a limited budget game and it shows. Mechanically, it's rather clear that it is a derivative of the Far Cry/nuFallout systems, lacking however the budget to do big maps/great enemy variety and such. It does try some pseudo open world mechanics, that's why it feels empty.

On its defense, it's an extremely comfortable and atmospheric game. Sure, the shooting isn't 100% perfect, the level design is a bit clunky, the models lifeless and the graphics outdated.... but it's a work of love and it shows. It's in the small details like the hospital levels, the blaze of weapons in the darkness, the clunky movements of enemy Terminators, the soundtrack that "fits" so well.

As everyone said, it's a nostalgia trip that doesn't suck. You can see some stitches, but who cares? You're playing in the Future War scenes of Terminator, and it's enough.

It gets better when you meet the first terminators. The DLC (free and paid) were great too.
Stick with it.

I got a bit of a fear feeling when you start fighting the mercenary's. They were a blast to engage, because Even though they are heavily armored I love how shooting them in the head throws off their aim and stuns them for a fraction of a second.
Not to mention they have unarmored family jewels
It's a magical gameplay moment when you're worrying about how headshots will be much less effective now only to realize their other head is exposed.

The best part is realizing the bullet sponge heavys go down as fast and hard as anybody else when you dump a mag into their balls.

@X Prime

Terminator takes a bit to get into but it's definitely a game that has a lot of love for the franchise and delights on expanding upon the world. It has a lot more choices and a more meaningful set of endings then RoboCop ( not that I hated robo or anything I just gotta be honest). The rpg elements are a lot more intrusive but it's still interesting.

I recommend playing on hard mode to maximize the tension.

When you see the perfect 1:1 copy from the movie of Robo driving out of the station it's just pure gold.

Teyon went all in on the soul for this game. I'm glad it's selling so well as their next game will have even more funding to be great.

I'll just reiterate what other people have said. Its clunky and low-budget as hell, but god damn do the people who made it have some actual love and appreciation for the source material and the DLC where you go behind enemy lines is a far more polished experience that does an even better job of nailing some of the desperation of being part of the Resistance.
