You know I must have a weird taste in Bond films because apart from the Connery classics and On Her Majestys Secret Service, my two favorite Bond movies are Casino Royale (the real one with Niven) and A View to a Kill. Something about it between watching Rodger Moore try to run and Christopher Walkens subtle performance makes it a masterpiece for me. Its Bond as comedy. The soundtrack was great too, and I never really liked Duran Duran. Always preferred the Cult personally.
Is Patrick getting divorced?
Last two things I read were shitting on him for it, or was that when he got cucked by the Pringle Can Man?

1) Is the original Casino Royale even comparable to the Daniel Graig one? I'm not talking about quality, but style of movie. I've never watched the original, but from what I remember my father telling me, it had a completely different tone to it (much more campy, if I remember correctly what he told me). I'll give it a try, thanks for reminding me of it.
2) About A View to a Kill: I think you're spot on about the soundtrack. That song is the only part of the movie I remember, and I'm not a huge Duran Duran fan either.
3) Pat recently went on and on about how great Quantum of Solace is (Nitter isn't working right now for me, so I can't show the tweet).
I'm just very glad an opinion exalting this movie came from the Porcine man, because I absolutely hated that movie, and whenever I have strong feelings about something, I tend to second guess myself: "Am I being too harsh/too soft about this particular thing?" But when Pat's opinion is the exact opposite of mine, I go "Oh, ok, then my assessment is probably fair".

If it was any other cow it would be a dumb move because, as you say, all it does is deny us content. In Pat's case, though, it's hilarious because even if we can't see it you know he is absolutely storming around the half-hovel, furiously punching holes in the drywall and childing Nikki within an inch of her life.

Its nothing like the Daniel Craig movie. Those are ok as action movies I guess but they just made Bond a generic Jason Bourne type, in a ham fisted attempt to "update" Bond they ended up missing everything that made the character unique.
You could change his name and with the exception of a few scenes, you wouldn't even know you were watching a Bond movie. You couldn't do that with any of the Connery (or Rodger Moore, for that matter) movies, call the guy Bob Johnson and you'd still recognize it as a Bond movie.
That said, the orignal Casino Royale is fucking awesome. Its goofy as fuck, so if you want a serious spy movie you'll hate it, but I fucking love how rediculous it is. Orson Welles is great as Le Chifre, and one of the bad guys is a manlet who has shortman rage and is sick of only being able to date fat chicks so he builds a doomsday device that will make every woman beautiful and kill every man over 4'6"
