Most autistic thing you've purchased lately - c'mon feel the cringe

I tripled down and got myself this amazing little titanium tape measure. Bc it’s shiny.

I've been looking for a really tiny tape measure to keep on my person and that fit's the bill exactly - thank you for sharing that.

My sibling gave me a multipack of Heinz baked beans as a joke one year, and now I seem to get them about every third holiday.

I unironically can get gift packs of that stuff, comes with the official bean safe microwave tub and toast caddy, I can also get those Spam gift set they sell in Asia but made for the UK market.

I couldn't resist a silly keychain.

I bought a vibrating plate after doing very little research, then I stood on it on the lowest program setting for five minutes to try it out.

It definitely did something: my legs feel relaxed, but also I kind of have a feeling of inchoate dread. Unclear if this is a known side effect.

I received my merch run hoodie today 🥰

It’s very soft and good quality. I meant to order a bigger size because I like for hoodies to pretty much sallow me, but it fits great. Happy represent the farms, signal my autism to the world and help support the site all in one purchase.

Aaaand it’s already dying (:_(- 8 Reallocated Sectors so far. Tried different (new) SATA cables and plugging it into my PCI-E SATA card and it’s still throwing errors in unraid. Bought an 8TB Ironwolf which arrives tomorrow.

Ironwolf is going strong, but it’s already half filled.
Since lightning never strikes twice I grabbed a refurb 10TB Hitachi Ultrastar He10. I get a years warranty with it so I’m sure it will be fine…. Right? For £80 and a seller with 1000s of feedbacks it’s gotta be worth a go. It’s from eBay’s seller refurb program so at least I can go complain to eBay if the seller gets difficult if the drive goes bad.
Seeing as I’m not hurting for space I will be subjecting the new drive to a full rewrite before adding it to my array.

Sometimes I hate computers so fucking much....
Just spent the last 2 1/2 hours fighting this new hard drive. Trying it in different ports/controllers, making sure it wasn't ice cold still.
Then I wonder... is this one of those HDDs that have that 3.3v fuckery going on? So I dig out my backup PSU and connect a Molex -> SATA adapter and plug the HDD into that and lo and behold there it is! So as a temporary solution I have just ordered a SATA -> Molex adapter so I can run SATA -> Molex -> SATA as a janky temporary solution until I can track down a Corsair Type 4 Molex PSU cable for my modular power supply because of course I threw that cable out years ago.
As annoyed as I am about all this I'm glad the HDD appears to be ok. We will see tomorrow when I let Unraid loose on it with a full pre clear.

I keep all the spare parts for my computers in their own little baggy on a drawer somewhere. You never know when you'll need something
I recently gave myself permission to throw out the mass accumulation of cords and adapters from long deceased equipment that I'd kept "just in case". It was out of control.

I bought more books.

I'm usually really got at doing that and can picture the black drawstring sack thing the PSU came covered in that I put those cables in. I can only think I threw them out before a move. If I were to guess why it would be because they would have been in a box with a mountain of other cables and not in the couple of motherboard boxes I keep around for those misc PC bits.

Has the floor under the bookcase started to bow? If not then you haven't bought enough yet.

Oh yeah don't do that. Those are ✨ special ✨ cables and need to be tossed in the back of a drawer in your computer desk or wherever you shove electronics you rarely use but are too important or expensive to toss. Never mix them with the plebeian cables.

Fortunately, my current residence is on a slab. If I were living in a more traditional building on stumps, I'd probably be in trouble. Just in case though, I've spread the load over multiple rooms so hopefully the place won't vanish into a sink hole or something similar.

After my most recent build, I bought one of those little arts and crafts caddy things that unfold for all the leftover parts I've been accumulating.

I bought this kimono a few weeks ago. Okay so it's not an autistic purchase in and of itself, but I got it from Bad Dragon.

Yes, I bought a kimono from a website that primarily sells massive animal and fantasy creature themed sex toys to furries who aren't convinced their buttholes are gaping enough already, and I didn't pick up a surrogate fantasy boyfriend while I was there, wanna suck my dick about it?

It's actually very nice, vibrant colors, crisp lines, soft as baroque chamber music. I absolutely love it and I'm only kicking myself that I bought it a week before it started getting cold XD
