That does seem brutal. Only thing I have to go by is the Armageddon movie so I know nothing. He said on Facebook his goal was to pay off his house and keep his wife and kids in their neighborhood as they have no family to help if he started making less and was in a situation of losing their home. I’m guessing he still has enough passive income where if he pays off his house he can get a job that’s not so demanding to supplement it and be around his family more?Oil rig jobs pay really well, but they are extremely brutal. I have friends and family members who worked there and none of them could last more than a year before moving on to something else. These guys were much stronger and taller than Froggy too. I respect Froggy for doing what needs to be done, but I hope he isn't needing this job for long term money problems. Even if he could tolerate the harsh conditions and long shifts, he won't be able to see his family much on that job, and it seems like being involved in his kid's life is important to him.
About Ian working: tbh, I feel that he shouldn't be the one having to get a real job if they are having money issues because he's been the one bringing in the money all this time, and still is... even if it's a lot less than it was in the past. Anisa should be the one getting a job, or at least a part time job. She has no kids and no other obligations that prevent other women from working. I'm sure she would cry about being autistic or something if Ian ever brought that up.
As for Anisa, I agree. She has no responsibilities that normal 30 year old women do. If they had a kid I’d give her a pass. She spends all day on social media and only damages his career making them lose money. If she’d shut up and get a real job she’d actually be being productive for once in her life. I agree she would cry about being autistic to get out of getting a job. If Ian didn’t make so much I bet she would try to file for SSI disability. She’d be denied because she’s not actually autistic, but she’d still try. She’s just awkward and stupid. It’s an insult to actual autistic people for her to try to lump herself in with no diagnosis because it’s some new trend to deflect criticism. It seems likes there’s a wave of people in their early 20s who have just decided they’re autistic unironically and Anisa has attached herself to that childish trend because she has the maturity of a 20 year old (still doesn’t make you autistic, Anisa).
