It's emotional blackmail and a scare tactic. I doubt there's many people, especially if you're a public figure wants to get called a pedo or pedo apologist. He's larping as a saviour of the children and if you don't put his "message out there" (ie give him more traffic) then you must either be a pedo or cover for them. There can't be any other possible reason why you wouldn't rally behind him, he's saving the children! I can't imagine those within Youtube circles want someone like Max running around and it's only a matter of time before he's the target for a cancel event. Think about it, if you're a big creator would you want him around? He could slide into your DMs at any time and demand you colab with him or he'll call you a pedo to his impressionable audience. Even if the cause is super nobal, nobody likes being put under duress like that.

To the guy who was shilling YourEverydayTheorist. Congrats you got me to watch his videos when I’ve been having a long streak of not interacting with YouTube horror content.
Because this is the big mean Kiwifarms I’m gonna give the ever dreaded constructive criticism. This guy needs a script editor badly. He clearly has thoughts about the things he’s talking about but he cannot put them into words to save his damn life.
This really detracts from his videos especially from parts where the main meat of the subject is his commentary rather than his research. To borrow an example from the video you linked: the spongetaker section. Had it been written properly I probably would have been moved but the way it is now it just comes off as faggy and dumb.
I do like his content though, it’s pretty well researched and has tons of stuff I’d never heard about.

This felt a lot less off the cuff than what Im used to seeing from him, especially for a subject he is apparently infatuated with. Every cryptid he talked about was a wikipedia synopsis reading followed by a little anecdote or opinion to personalize it.
Im gonna guess/hope he wanted to get the big ones out of the way asap so he can geek out over more obscure stuff, so until I see the formula continuing into episode 2 I'll refrain from bitching too much.
