Both of these were good things. The former got us out of a foreverwar, and the latter put the USSR permanently on its back foot in the Cold War, since it could no longer count on China's support if it went hot. Clinton selling out of our entire industrial apparatus wasn't in view when Nixon went to China, nor could anyone have predicted at the time what a corrupt redneck would do 20 years later. Strategically, it's not in America's interest for China to be wholly Russia-aligned, not then, and not now.

But they really weren't aligned. Half of China's nukes were pointed at the Sovs, and probably still are pointed at the Russians. There is a lot of history and acrimony on both sides, there, going back to the Mongols and further. Mao had a bit of a falling out with the Russians. So much so that the Chinese and Soviets fought several border clashes, some up to division sized.
But, if you want to ignore the details and just say the commies must be naturally aligned because lolcommies, then sure. Its not quite accurate, but have fun.

It's a little obvious that at this point Trump isn't "the guy" some right-leaning groups thought he was in 2016-2017.
A good portion of that has to do with his own beliefs and stances but realistically also opposition and the people he appointed to key positions during his term as President.
He's still a good battering ram against the establishment and a better choice then the alternative though.

Kissinger's Chyna plan fucked with making three strong countries that could keep themselves in balance and the region itself with Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and even a more autonomous, still-british Hong Kong. The Chyna appeasement is the reason Tiananmen Square turned into a killing of young, western focused chinese because Bush was told to let China crush the rebellion, don't help them, and you'll have cheap labor for the world. Labor that would then steal from your own people but by then Clinton was already sucking NAFTA dick.
Three strong economic countries so close together, with the realization they can't do anything because of American military, would have been far more beneficial to the world than what we have now. The japanese bubble would have been better remedied, Korea's late 90's collapse would have been avoided, and Taiwan would actually be in a strong place to ward off a dumbed down, saber rattling Chyna. It would have also likely sped up the growth we've seen in Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
But that doesn't matter now, what matter is the fag-off tonight between Pitcher and Catcher! Rob's getting a rosier nose than Santa:
