2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

The uncle of two of the freed hostages, Or (17) and Yagil Yaakov (13), says that Hamas branded their legs using a motorcycle exhaust pipe: IMG_20231130_214825.jpg

There was a shooting at the entrance to Jerusalem. Three were murdered and thirteen others wounded:
>get slammed
>beg for a ceasefire
>when ceasefire is ending intentionally rile up the enemy

brave strategy lets see if it works
It's nice for Hamas to already provide new material to justify the invasion's continuation, slapping down those apologists who were hoping for the temporary ceasefire to lead into the end of IDF hostilities altogether.

Lets get back to Merkava and Hamas Call of Duty highlight videos.

Hamas has released a video of Yarden Bibas, husband of Shiri Bibas and father of 10-month-old Kfir and four-year-old Ariel who were all claimed by Hamas to have been killed, asking Netanyahu to bring their bodies home to Israel for burial.

Whether or not the Bibas wife and children are actually dead is currently unknown. Earlier in the war, Hamas announced the deaths of IDF solider Noa Marciano and an elderly hostage, Arye Zalmanovich, with proof of their corpses. (Marciano's body was later recovered by the IDF near al-Shifa hospital.) However, they also claimed another elderly hostage, Hanna Katzir, to be dead with no evidence, only to release her— alive— as part of the hostage/ceasefire deal.

The ceasefire extension for today had almost fallen through, as Hamas had wanted to include Israeli corpses as part of the deal in place of living hostages. Based on this video, it seems like they will continue to push for this. (And as though they may be running low on living hostages.)

Update that Mia Schem has been released. I had been wondering about her. She was the women shown having some type procedure on her arm:

She was reportedly operated on by a veterinarian in Gaza due to a serious injury to her hand after being attacked by Hamas X

I cannot imagine the horror/pain she has been through

Her aunt:

I found this interesting. Anyone who says there isn’t serious Stockholm syndrome going on is crazy. She went through unimaginable agony for 6 weeks:

Edit: correction- her aunt speaking not her mother

People really need to be more judicious with their use of terms like invasion and occupation. Misuse of these terms is rampant and deliberate to obfuscate what is actually going on.

Israel is NOT "invading". This implies that Israel is attacking a neighboring State. In actuality, Gaza is a part of Israel. Which is why its Water and Power were provided by Israel, and not Egypt. What Israel is doing is conducting an internal security operation on Israeli soil against non-citizens subjects of Israeli law and sovereignty.

But that is hard to say in a 5 second sound bite. So sure. Its "an Invasion".

Secondly, Israel is not an occupying power. To be an "occupier", a State has to control territory and citizens claimed by another State. At BEST the only place where this is operative would be the Golan Heights. The West Bank and Gaza were ceded to Israel by Egypt and Jordan in the Camp David Accords and the Wadi-Araba Treaty respectively. As for the rest of the Israeli State more broadly, saying it is an "occupation" implies that every Israeli in Israel has no legal right to being where they are, which is a farce.

As for "Palestine" as a country, it remained solely a dreamed up idea in the UN that was never effectively implemented and has never had a governing authority that did not derive its authority from Israel itself. The Palestinians themselves only have a national identity as the Stateless Arabs the surrounding Arab States refused to incorporate. And part of what caused that problem was those same Arab States starting and then losing a series of wars with the Israelis.
