Any twat with a Twitter poll is as much a "data analyst" as she is. These interviews are a real "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" deal. Some pissant interviewer gets to posture as a real broadcaster by asking fluff questions to some pretentious cunt who wants to play psychologist despite having zero qualifications or credentials. They don't question one another too deeply and then go off to do the same dance again with other interviewers/interviewees.

A "data analyst" whose data cannot be analyzed in any meaningful capacity is worthless. You cannot meaningfully analyze anonymous Twitter polls. You don't know anything about the demographics you're polling, you have no idea where they're from or who they are or if they're answering honestly or only answering once instead of stuffing the polls.

Her cope that "well, doing data analysis completely fucking wrong is better than not analyzing data at all!" is peak grifter. You don't publish lies and falsehoods just because "well, I feel like it's better than publishing nothing at all!" And I hate that title "data analyst" - what even is that? Everyone is a data analyst. When we go to the store and are comparing the ingredients of the name brand to the store brand, we're analyzing data. When my dog decides not to bark at the bigger dog because -it's bigger- my dog is being a data analyst. Most people qualify what kind of data they analyze when they do it for a living, but Aella can't do that since 85% of the polls she gathers said "data" from are about her her her.

It may seem like powerful people are protecting Aella, but truthfully things aren't going very well in that entire community.

I remember way back, like ten years ago, Yud was new on the scene (I literally remember him becoming prominent). Very few people outside of r/futurology were talking about AI so it seemed like this guy knew a thing or two. I also remember it being insinuated that his credentials were much, much more than they've been revealed to be back then. AI coming full-focus into the mainstream really killed his whole shtick. People have discussed on the other thread why AI becoming relevant was the worst thing that ever happened to AI genius Yud so I won't get into it.

From someone who is... here in tpot (sorry, I'm being vague on purpose) but would never be so silly as to fall for some internet cult clique I can tell you the whole of the tech community is disenfranchised with these people. What is said on the Yud thread here is *nothing* compared to how hard he gets dogged on in the irl San Fran crowd. I'm still shaking my head remembering Grimes asking Sam Altman in an interview if he could pretty please do something about everyone bullying Yud (his weight issue being the main source of this request).

And guess what? Aella is part of that. Aella will throw a hissy fit about this thread but she gets it harder from the upper echelon she's been exposed to. Basically means "this niche community of the internet", kiwifarms is a 'tpot'. It's used alot by the tech community and rationalists. I only meant to signal that I'm around those types of people but I failed.

I don't think Aella wants Yud or she'd have him. I mean... I get it. He's way more cringe than her if you ask me. But, I do not for one second think Aella means this in a based way.

Upon re-reading I think her point is supposed to be that it's evidence that transness isn't a social contagion because trans people have particular sexual interests which. . . Inherently make them trans? Like, the presence of the fetish is evidence that no one is being "turned trans" because I guess she thinks arousal patterns are inherent and never learned? It makes no fucking sense at all.

Now that I think about it, she does seem to take the position that kinks/fetishes are inherent - at least based on this and the comments she made about Billie Eilish.
