As long as she’s getting a decent income from YT and she is; she’s proving both that she can work and that she earns enough. Disability would only pay her about $1,200/month which wouldn’t even cover rent for a shit shack here. She could earn up to another $1,000/month before clawbacks hit.

Does that change if she is hospitalised? Here our hospitals run specialist clinics and you can get fast tracked to those if you've landed in hospital whereas you'd be waiting a long time for an appointment if you were referred by your GP.

@repentance yes, if Guntal ends up in the hospital, let’s say she’s admitted by the ER Doc, she will get fast tracked to a specialist. I would imagine that is a likely scenario for our land whale, if she ends up back in Ontario.

My attempt at a quick summary going back to when this and of the arc started unraveling…
Begins with her mysteriously protracted stay in Thailand; something they had clearly not anticipated nor welcomed.
The current theory is that this wax due to her visa approval being delayed, possibly due to one or more of her health concerns… a viable hypothesis.
Back to the fartbox and back to her usual verbal and behavioural patterns but less involvement of Salah over time. Mukbang, pay lip service to ‘someday’ getting her health shit together, smugness, raging; same old for a while.
Suddenly she chooses to see a doc, starts measuring her staggeringly high blood sugars and goes on meds. Surprisingly, she shows all of this. Had to be driven by external forces… Kuwaiti immigration authorities telling her to get her medical shit or get out? Very plausible.
She doesn’t get her medical shit together; her blood glucose still comes in as half boiled maple syrup.
Hard pivot to a return to Canada… for health reasons; no date given; just ‘soon’.
Talking about doc wanting her on a new med, tries to prove her weight, sulks, whines, pouts and attempts to manipulate.
She needs mommy. Pull your thumb out of your mouth, the other one out of your ass and do what you’re told, Chantal. I felt the cold that surrounds the Grim Reaper as he gently drifted by me on the way to you.
Other than food, she’s always driven by external circumstances and clearly she doesn’t like these ones. She’s feeling sorry for herself before having given anything a real effort.
This return trip to Canada has the potential for so many fuck ups, no many negative effects on the lives of others but she’s too busy sulking at her one person pity party to give a shit.
Hey if she needs distraction from harsh reality, she can always move forward with suing FFG for feline fraud.
ETA: my kids are grown and gone so does that mean I can question her weight? I promise not to take all day as I use more than I brain cell at a time? Does having 3 tiny grand kids prevent me from having an opinion? This ugly old broad won’t cam up although I can assure her that I’ve aged badly…lol you can trace an accurate road map from NYC to LA using my face wrinkles.
Maybe Chantal would enjoy discussing that with me on a nice, gentle 5 mile walk.

I'm pretty sure one of the things she was told at her most recent clinic visit was that they would have to report her to immigration authorities, and that she faces non-renewal of her visa when it expires (if not outright deportation) on medical grounds. Yeah, it's only a tourist visa, but she's dangerously ill, with no insurance, and the Kuwaiti government doesn't want to pay her hospital expenses for a catastrophic event, or for her supersized burial, so they aren't renewing her visa and will force her out if they have to.
Salah, not being a citizen, can't do anything for her. And I now agree that he's known this since the Bangkok trip—Chantal may have managed to chisel another 90-day tourist visa out of the Kuwaiti government, but it's obvious (at least to everyone involved but Chantal) that it's the last one she'll ever get. The grift is coming to a close. Salah's determined to squeeze whatever he can out of it, including startup funds for his new MLM business that will surely make him a millionaire, because he knows she's not coming back from Canada, and once she's gone he'll never see her again.
Also, she probably got told that she would need to see more specialists, and if she thought the initial visit (and today's visit) were expensive, the financial reality of being a dying landwhale beached in Kuwait must have hit hard.
I've never believed she was genuinely happy in Kuwait. I think, in the early days, when there was still plenty of money for fast food and takeout rolling in, she was okay with the heat, boredom, isolation, and restrictions on her behavior because she really did get to sit and eat and have everything provided for her, with no responsibilities but to keep bringing money in. But with less money coming in, and having to economize, and no longer being able to eat whatever she wanted, it's become intolerable. And then her health, which has been going to shit for years, hit a crisis point where it couldn't be ignored any more.
She doesn't want to go back to Canada and face the mess she left behind, but there's no future for her in Kuwait, and she's fucking sick of it anyway. She's not lying when she says she really just wants to beeze, and if she makes it back to Canuckistan without stroking out on the plane, I predict she will beeze, and beeze hard, and beeze unto the death, because no matter what she does, her health is fucked and she's going to die anyway, so she might as well go out doing whatever the fuck she wants.
I just want her final beeze to be on a livestream. That's all I ask.

@DefCon Dumb. I agree that there is much more to her sudden return to Canada than the health scare , she wasn’t scared enough to stop eating when she had to have the hysterectomy, in fact she doubled down and ate more .
The running back to Smee because of needing urgent medical attention maybe true but because she had to do something to smoke screen her return to leaf land, she is choosing to bring her medical problems to the fore , she bought the blood testing monitor before she had even seen a Doctor, whatever happened in Thailand we will never find out but we can guess. Yet on her return to Kuwait she carried on over eating and gluttony without any care , so I think even though her health issues are now getting too much for her to ignore, there’s also another reason for her return to Canada. Maybe the village idiot really told her he was bailing on their pretend relationship, maybe visa issues are forcing her out but she will never admit to anything other than needing medical help in Canada.

I am pretty sure I am correct in my theory of why she is going back to Leafland and that is she cannot afford the medical costs at all. I glanced at some of the costs and the basic meds are pricey as hell. Insulin a batch is 5KD alone so 21 CAD a pop.

So first diet - Bitch can pretty much eat leaves seriously, her Kidneys are so close to dialysis and the more chicken she has hammers them. She cannot have salt either.
Kidneys - So I think the reason she originally went in was she was peeing red, you can get it in stage 3 seen it quite often actually and usually it's the first major thing. The doctor had her on a diet change to see if it changed anything blood pressure-related but I think it did jack. The doctor is worried the damage is worse and wants to push for scans.
Liver - Bitch is entering the cirrhosis phase, they will say do a diet and that is it.
Pancreas - She is displaying signs of type 2 after 10 to 20 years and that is needing Insulin because she does. Metformin does not even glance her and she is so resistant she needs a huge dose of insulin to bring her down. For her weight, she would need a significant dose and if that is doing nothing, you're in danger.
First of all the blood pressure reading would not have worked her arm is too big and needs a different cuff. They clearly had no experience with people her size either but I can sympathise.
I think they said renal failure is coming soon and she needs dialysis. She is spooked and those test results show someone who is entering renal soon. I have a personal lolcow who has been homeless for a decade. Somehow, she managed to get on disability, and thanks to that she can stay in motels for at least part of every month (she sleeps outside once the money runs out).
Sometimes she gets a voucher to stay at places as nice as Motel 6 or Super 8, where there are some basic standards in place, and a corporate chain to force compliance. But a lot of the motels she ends up in are really old, seedy places run by slumlords. There are nice, older, mom-and-pop motels out there, but these...aren't it. So they get a mix of tenants, including a lot of homeless working people, but also a lot of chaotic lumpenproles who have made beezin' a permanent way of life (I'm partial to the Aussie term "gronks," myself). The worst ones are basically drug dens.
Motels like that don't turn up in Expedia search results; you just take a drive along whatever the shittiest, most hooker-infested boulevard in a given city is, see who has their Vacancy sign lit, and take your chances.
They're grim, dirty and noisy at all hours, but Chantal would adjust right away because she'd be among her own kind, and living with the low standards of cleanliness and order we've already seen her accept. These are gross places, and she's a gross person—she's a gronk at heart—and she wouldn't be out of place amid all the other addicts. Like water, she will have found her own level.
Kim and the rest of the family are quickly going to lose all patience with Chantal, once she's back in Canada, stinking up their space, eating all their food, staying up all night on YouTube, and flagrantly refusing to comply with medical orders. I like to think they'd finally have the guts to tell her, "This is unacceptable; if you want to live like this, you're on your own," and kick her out.
Chantal's no different than any other addict, and will just take everyone else down with her unless they draw hard boundaries and defend them, even if that means she spends the rest of her life estranged from her family as she moves from the Cockroach Chalet to the Gronk Motor Inn to the Lumpenprole Lodge and back around again. If she's lucky, she'll die at one of them, if not, a government nursing home awaits her (at which point, she might as well opt for MAID, if she's still capable of doing so).
