Other than the obvious - GTA 6 is not going to be funny, but boy will they pretend to try - the biggest ding is how they present Vice City in the marketing stills. Yeah it's Vice City again, but this boat can't U-turn on that. It's the faux-80s vibe that shows Rockstar is creatively bankrupt. Absolutely no ideas on what to do with a contemporary city, just stuff that fucker full of neon pink and call it a day.

Its..........GTAV with higher res and a shitload of mods, almost thought it was yet another fan trailer. The characters in particular look almost unchanged except for the texture bump, its nowhere near the jump it was from GTAIV to GTAV. Seeing those characters rendered in the already 8yo X360 was impressive, this? this is lame. And the final version wont look even remotely like this, the downgrade specially in consoles will be high, specially the number of NPCs.

The game has "auto" on the name and yet there are barely any cars or driving, unless you count the fat bitch twerking on top of one as such.

The tiktok-after-tiktok thing gives the feel that rather than a parody R* is entering the "simpson zombie era" level of creative bankruptcy where they constantly make pop culture references which is not a parody of those things but a vague pathetic attempt to stay relevant. I can picture a 40 or even 50yo most likely female marketing c-suite oxygen thief pushing for tiktok-like short videos on the game because "that's what my niece is doing all day when she's not popping pills!" so odds are there will be tiktok clone built into the game so that the same insufferable retards who like to RP on GTAV can RP that they have a social life while pissing in bottles, as usual.

The demographics are ridiculous, florida and specially miami its basically a hispanic colony now, you only see this many black people in some areas and during some events like spring break. Rest of the time is hispanic, white hispanics and white people. Latino blacks don't hang out with "gringo" blacks much because they are not the same culture and find them crass and stupid, haitians are neither latinos nor english, they are their own thing. You can tell they hired one of those out-of-touch 'diversity consultants' with as many pronouns as mental illnesses because their idea of diversity is "just put more black people on it". Observe how in the entire trailer there is not even one single asian.

They are really going with the fatigue for this one.

The cultural aspect it also meh, redneck mudfest? bling bling? are they just now getting mid 2000's reality shows in scotland?. Twerking was a thing in 2013 when GTAV launched, now its passé, club sluts have moved into doing worse stuff.

And LMAO "coming 2025"

12 years...
Lotta black people in Vice City lmao
Yep, if anything it should be hispanics, mostly cubans.
Can Rockstar make fun of those trends? In the past maybe but now it's all about punching up.
Its not about punching up, its about creativity, and from the tiktoks alone you can tell they have none. While the houser brothers had garth ennis-levels of anti-americana humor whoever is in charge now is the kind of European who looks at mainstream American "culture" not as peak consumerism drivel but as something aspirational. And I said "culture" not because I'm a self-hating American who thinks only Europe has culture but because real American culture is Twain, Lovecraft, Fitzgerald, Kubrick, Hitchcock, not a fat black bitch twerking on top of a moving car.
The amount of negresses and their degenerate behavior they managed to put into this trailer is impressive.
Frankly if I were black I would be offended, this is a major downgrade from previous GTA black characters like Vance, CJ and Franklin.

Reminder: this character was considered a slutty black girl in 2004

All that twerking in that trailer.
You can tell its all 30 and 40yo women at R* who did this, the kind that were in their mid to late 20's when GTAV came out and twerking was a thing. They have become the wine aunt who still talks about new kids on the block and backstreet boys as if zoomers even know what those are.
Do something new? Philadelphia? Chicago?
Totally, and besides a GTA in chiraq would be insane, plus they get to put all the black people they want and nobody is gonna complain because the place its basically a black enclave now, like baltimore.

Probably for GTAVII 30 years for now, unless they go back to liberty city again...
>map clearly on a ridiculous scale
Have you seen the pics? its literally the GTAV map except with a small island and more wild EMPTY space that will only be used maybe in some GTAO missions/events...........just like in V
Haitian population and they are black AND Hispanic!"
They are french tho.

Problem i think, is that gta while always had black characters, this is a gta game in current year meaning its gonna have its black characters be written by wokies and niggers.

Speaking of i am struggling hard on the savo race can anyone give advice on how to beat him.

I want to hope that VI will have a similar message of "It's fun to be bad, just don't think this kind of fun is good for you", but seeing how contemporary media loves to enable the worst aspects of society, where cynicism is a virtue, and excess and vice are wholesome, I have strong doubts that this Vice City is less an exaggerated vision of Miami and more a mockumentary of it.

Put another way: if your protagonist yells "gross" on seeing that fat twerking woman on the roof, and gets points for sniping her, then it's treating the subject properly.

If fat twerking cellulite is your unironic reward for a mission, then the game is trash in exactly the way people are saying.

Would the wait-and-see gang like to wager which way this game is going?

Please list like 3 modern games that are akin to Vice City with a similar time period and setting.
Again, why would there be when Vice City exists lol? What a weird response. That said, I can think of a few examples. Scarface: The World is Yours was surprisingly good considering the reputation of games based on movies. Although it has a totally different gameplay style, the Hotline Miami franchise also uses the setting of Miami in the 1980s. Even within the GTA franchise there was Vice City Stories, meaning Rockstar has already re-explored the setting once before.

I disagree. There's a massive visual upgrade compared to GTA V. Notice the draw distance, population/vegatation density, and hair physics in show. Last game that looked that impressive was Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm sure there will be SOME kind of downgrade, but from that alone, RAGE has really gone a long way.

Honestly, I'm still optimistic that this will be a parody-esque approach and all of this black tik-tok twerking shit is just a cynical portrayal of reality. I say this because weirdly enough, some white rednecks were jacked and the chick with the sunglasses and tats was kind of hot, while every nigger in the game looks unkempt and gross.
All that TikTok stuff from the trailer, it's a byproduct of today's modern society. Which GTA likes to parody with various results. It's like complaining about excessive neon and designer clothing in Vice City, a game set in the 80s. I don't like it itself, but if GTA VI has it as a result of modern society, so be it. At least then I could react accordingly given the sandbox.

I’m hoping I get to play as the guy and that I get great customization options for my character, tattoos, body, guns, and cars. I want to live out my Redneck Rampage fantasy I had when I saw Cassidy in Vice City.

Looks like GTA V but with a bunch of Online vehicles and fancy gay neon lights that are a good contrast comparing how bleached out the last two GTA looked, i have the bad feeling that the game campaign is just going to be some sort of tutorial for the online mode... but eh, i'm more of a Max Payne guy anyways

In before we find out the Bonnie and Clyde couple die early on in the game. Then, the protagonist is some woke, lame and gay woman. Game will be unplayable without 50GB of patches. Come back to this thread in 3 years and tell me I was right!

Let me add to that. Retro City Rampage, a GTA-esque open world crime/action game inspired by earlier GTAs and 80s/90s media tropes. Far Cry: Blood Dragon, another 80s centric open world game inspired by 80s action movies with a Far Cry formula. Not the same type of open world as GTA, but it still applies. Hell, you could even count Yakuza 0 if you want.

Fuck, that probably makes it way easier. How was that mission on console?
I never played the PC version, but I have played through VC several times on console and mobile. That mission was never too bad for me. The RC mission later in the game where you have to use a biplane to bomb speedboats is way worse IMO.

There's a guy on /v/ claiming to be an insider at Rockstar. He talks about a bunch of shit that's probably untrue but there was something he said that did make me think. Allegedly the two main characters have a kid together and the main story is about them fixing their relationship and getting their kid back. He says that the game has a dating sim like side quests that change the game's ending. The only proof of any of this is that the real leaks do show a relationship system.

The only reason I'm bringing it up is because I feel like Rockstar still hasn't fixed the stupid "ludonarrative dissonance" that GTA has become known for. These characters are mass murdering criminals but they want me to give a fuck about their kid (allegedly)?

If anything, it’s rather unique and telling that a game like GTA VI will come out in 2025. Two years is not that long, but a lot can happen mainly with delays and re-writing script and code of what the gameplay will inevitably play and feel like.

It almost made me think that this installment was trying to be like the new age version of South Park, but with Cyberpunk 2077 elements.
