Dylan is an HSTS, not an AGP. In fact he is the gold standard of the HSTS archetype, which is why he achieved the success he did so quickly. He is PR-friendly and unthreatening, unlike the AGP troons who outnumber the HSTS ten to one. And unlike most gay male troons, he isn't a sex worker or too obviously strung out on drugs/mentally ill. He comes off as a Harmless Gay and a lot of women love that.
The fact that he's flopping so hard amongst the general public despite being astroturfed as the one-in-a-million Marketable Troon is a reason for hope.
(Those housewife posts would actually be kind of funny if he was doing this as a camp act, instead of actually claiming to be a woman. I do see why his fans like him. That doesn't translate to successful Trans Activism, though. Deep down everyone knows he's just a campy gay.)

I had never heard of this troon before and looked at his YouTube videos, holy shit does he trigger all my Uncanny Valley reflexes. It's like some kind of scary AGP amusement park ride. And it does go to show that, once everything's in motion, even the most high-effort troon that does everything imaginable to pass (including staying thin and not dressing like a teenage girl - although his clothing choices still come off as fetishistic) still will never be a woman. He's really good at woodworking, though (the most feminine of hobbies).

There are so many differences between male and female skeletal frames and musculature that every single movement of his is "off." Additionally, since he's not actually a woman, every piece of his "femininity" is practiced and fake, and the human brain is really good at spotting fake. His movements aren't just "off," they're all practiced and forced. The same with his outfits, his poses, the camera shots. Ok, just spitballing here, but.....maybe that's why Dylan is still around?
Look, he was a theater kid, had a slight bit of success with "The Book of Mormon", and probably knows all the stories about how this guy pissed off that guy by being an asshole, and now he's not getting work. Dylan might play dumb but he isn't really dumb, so maybe he took notes.....and shows up on time, sober, presentable, isn't bitchy, and gives their stylists the correct measurements so they can dress him up the way they want for the appearances/covers.
He's not a hairy freak like Alok, he doesn't scare the shit out of people like Jeffery Marsh, and he's not an unredeemable asshole like Rhys. It's not a high bar to clear, obviously, but considering the competition....our boy Dylan is a superstar.
Even though he tanked one brand, he hasn't affected the bottom lines of other brands/magazines. Conservatives don't like him, so that's a plus for Dylan in the entertainment industry right now.
