Student Loans being wiped out would only benefit the majority of Americans even if they took it out by raising taxes. The reality is economically, you cannot burden an entire generation of children with crippling financial debt and expect it to not fuck you over in the end. Even if you're an adult without children, your investments and business will suffer greatly if other people's children aren't at least somewhat financially successful. The boomer argument of "I shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes" is completely insane. You already are. You already have been for years, you just don't realize it.
