Adult Games General - Because we all know why you play them one-handed.

My abandonware does have a adult section
That way lies madness.

Holy fuck, how did I miss this. Was going through random abandoned tagged projects looking for something and stumbled upon this.

His serious crimes are pretending to be a talent scout on Instagram and then blackmailing underaged girls with the pictures that were sent to him. His Fagzone and Patreon are both deleted and he even has two news articles written about him. One on his arrest, one on his sentencing to 18 years prison. Dude won't get out till he's 40.

What genres do you think are under used when it comes to adult games?

Usually I see visual novels (dating sims) and action platformers, and I sometimes see RPGs and stealth games.

I would've thought tactical games would have been a good fit. All it would take is pushing the relationship systems to the logical conclusion. I know of only one and I've never played it.
Real time strategy
You command armies in RTS battles to capture princesses and rape 'em

In a similar spirit, infiltration/immersive sim/stealth game.

these niggers clearly are in the developer's discord, probably NTR fans too to get so butthurt at the way the main dude pointed out as to how the developer is cucking them.
100.000.000 a month can hire a fuckton of pajeetis and not even make a dent to the total savings so you can pump out alot of content.

still, damn, dude assfucked them really hard though.

I think I mentioned it before, but I'll just remind you that I made Steve butthurt when I expressed concerns about going to Kickstarter. Of course despite Steve's "neutral stance," he rallied behind a far leftie that barely supported the game to make himself feel good despite his. This doesn't come as a surprise. I don't get how you make over 100k a year, and still can't release this fucking game. This is DSP-tier levels of pathetic. I'm so happy his Kikestarter failed miserably.

I've always wondered if there's a good intersection of "adult" content and "good" games.

"Adult" games usually feature lousy gameplay and other mechanics in favor of some art and/or fetish minigames, while "good" games are only brought down by obvious fetish content, like some furry inflationist buying his OC into the game.

I went into my thoughts on this earlier in the thread. Quick recap. AAA, middle market, and basically anyone with a reputation won't touch adult content for fear of being cancelled, smeared, etc. That leaves indie devs outside the mainstream, and protected hacks who have the right connections and politics to avoid cancellation.

There's also a design problem where a lot of popular genres lean on rape or porn-as-failure-state mechanics.

The few that seem to escape this trend (like Subverse) seem to vanish or go to shit for unrelated reasons.

There's also the fact that these games tend to lean toward the VN genre at least partly because they're focused on "one-handed" players. That said, I've seen some of the VN style games be very good for what they are.

I mean, I played Didnapper II, which is fairly tame/mainstream in terms of fetishes without explicit content--no nudity for instance. And I was extremely bored...the "struggle" mechanic was frustrating, the music wasn't memorable, the story was boring, I disliked the fetish forced into every single thing, the "bad ending" art mostly wasn't good...and the game still retails for $20! (Never got hard once).

Given a choice I'd rather take a game that knows what it's doing but makes sense storywise (finding an excuse for a segment of some woman to run around half-naked), even if there isn't as much to get excited over. Sometimes the rarity makes it all the more special.

A few games have used armour degradation for fanservice, but it's baffling it hasn't been done more. Yes, it's porn as a failure state, but it's better than adding rape to everything.

Games where the woman happens to wear skimpy but appropriate outfits like the original Tomb Raider don't really exist these days, and when they do zoomers will call them "pornographic". But I might be repeating myself.

This might seem a bit off topic, but there's a web comic a bunch of people recommended to me. Semi Auto Semla. It was sold to me as both a return to classic pulp adventure, and a heavy dose of fanservice. While not my fetish, I do like some good pulp adventure. But whenever I checked on it, it would just be some bearded guy talking about nothing or doing anime slapstick.

It has both problems at once. It's light on the eye candy in favour of what I assume is an author insert, but it also fails to deliver a story good enough to make it worth reading. Maybe I'd feel differently if DiD was my thing.

To me, the solution is obvious, but maybe that's easier said than done, or maybe I don't know what people want. After all, I don't have a successful web comic or an adult game dev patreon bringing in four or five figures a month.

So, I take it that running an shell company is out of the question?

Menace Beach (an awful unlicensed NES beat-em-up, though you've probably heard of it due to it being a punching bag for AVGN and others) had clothing degradation as a win state--the farther you got into the game, the more the chained-up girlfriend's clothes would rot off to reveal what she was wearing underneath.

That's nothing. There was actually a version where she takes her clothes off released only in Japan called "Miss Peach World"*.
The story is contested and understandably so once you get into the meat of it but from what I can gather, one of the programmers of Menace Beach illicitly sold the source code to Hacker International** under condition of anonymity but were credited anyway in the final ROM.

*There's also screenshots of a prototype entitled "Mr. Assy" but it's undumped. The viewer is still referred to as "Assy" in the final though...
**Famous unlicenced game studio in Japan. Also published (the awful) Bubble Bath Babes.

Now that I think about it, I wonder how something like an RTS would work. Or a factory sim game, since those are getting popular now. Wonder if there's any Bullfrog-esque god games or Theme Hospital/Dungeon Keeper-like sim games. Those seems like they could work pretty easily.
Playboy mansion?

Yeah, I was thinking more generally, but you're probably right when it comes to tactics games, since those let you have more character for the units and attachments and all. I can only imagine how somebody would feel if they played through an XCOM style game and not only had their best soldiers get wiped out, but they were their waifus, too. Brutal.

Could work for a Darkest Dungeon style game, except instead of permadeath you get parasites or dunno.

The problem is no dsv ever wants to develop erogames because they stain their portofolio for ever.

All I want for an adult game is something where I can customize the characters to my dick's content, queue up a series of animations, then pan and orbit around using wasd+qe while they do their thing.

Actually, that's interesting. I've never worked in the games industry (nor do I ever want to) but do people really give a shit? I thought employers were looking for coding skill and ability to work in a team...

I *think* 3D custom maid does this?

I played a couple of Hentai Metroidvanias that were descent enough for what they were, the porn felt tacked-on, but i'd rather have a serviceable game with porn added on, that an unplayable game with porn.

The only games i've seen doing something like that are shitty RPG maker games, no idea what other games have that kind of mechanic.

I don't know whether to put this here or in the Paradox games thread, but as I was scrolling through Stellaris mods on the Steam workshop, I noticed a particularly coomer-y thumbnail for a Chinese-only mod, which Google Translate purports to be titled "Elf Girl Fantasia-Light and Dark Overture (sorted to the bottom)". Nice.

Now, if I had to lump Stellaris mods into two groups, it would be these: western mods that generally try to fit with the tone and balance of the game but are mechanically unambitious, and eastern mods that show an incredible attention to detail and push the Stellaris engine to its limits, but are grossly imbalanced and exist only to glorify the author's favorite coomerbait Gacha franchise. So, upon seeing a fairly well-rated Chinese-only mod, I, as a dilettante Stellaris modder, decided to download it and take a peek at its file structure to see if it did anything cool (I have yet to run it, if I do I'll try auto-translating the localization beforehand).

With this tangent aside, what did I find in the game files for"Elf Girl Fantasia-Light and Dark Overture (sorted to the bottom)", you ask? Plenty of funky Chinese letters, and porn. Lots of weird Japanese hentai porn. This mod was not removed, not even soft-banned from the workshop, and a good chunk is just straight up porn.

Now for comparison, the Paradox workshop jannies usually SWEEP IT UP when it comes to western attempts at coomer-modding: the explicit is removed, or soft-banned by being marked as "incompatible" (e.g. this mod, the entire incompatible list can be viewed here) which doesn't actually stop you from using them but does hide them from default searches. So I'm genuinely surprised that no one has reported this to the jannies yet, since, surely, some other curious or titillated gaijin (er, what's the Chinese equivalent of gaijin?) has noticed the slutty anime woman and impenetrable Chinese description and investigated, and then felt an urge to see it removed! I swear, it's like Stellaris modding is two separate ecosystems in one, no geofencing, and if your mod is only in Chinese/Japanese I guess you can do whatever you want? To be clear, I don't really care whether this stays up, it's more that it struck me as humorous that such a thing would persist despite the prudish attitude given towards western mods that don't even include explicit graphics. Laugh at incongruent eastern coomer-modding and incompetent moderation with me.

Pornography Manager.

You own a porn studio, you hire the "adult film stars", you shoot film, you distribute it. Choose your scenes and wardrobe carefully! Make profit on coomers! Fight off lawsuits! Don't drive off your actresses by pushing them too hard, and don't keep them after they're too old! Watch out for STD outbreaks!
