It's very helpful of Eugenia to answer a question I had in Ashley's thread. Impossible to say exactly, but likely due to electrolyte imbalance from her lack of diet. Severe deficiencies (or even excess) of calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphate can all cause muscles to fire off inappropriately, this is because your muscle cells contract or relax with 'switches' that rely on these salts to send the electric messages.

Back in the day pro-ana sites used to tell these girls to chug ice water and wear as little clothing as possible because you would burn calories to bring your body temperature up. It's the receding gums causing her teeth to protrude. It's very likely that she is feeling a tooth/teeth move in her mouth. Her teeth are holding on as best they can to a palate that is slowly rotting away.

Her teeth have bothered me for a while because she struggles to fit them in her mouth when her lips are closed. It's disconcerting and bordering on uncanny valley.
