I'm assuming we'd have to delete a few of the anti-CCP threads, but it seems a far less slippery slope than other responses.
Delete, not really. I accessed .net without a VPN when I was working in China and still do when I visit for conferences.
The issue is, Elliot is Chinese (or Taiwanese whatever).
I'm not giving him ideas, he's not dumb and he already knows what to do. He'll just contact these Chinese services in the Chinese language and point to the numerous threads seething about the CPC. They will get spooked and take action.
We need some kind of plan. I can go out of my way to get good references for Chinese hosting but we need to be prepared for this bullshit. All the threads even remotely discussing Chinese politics will need to be hidden from the ClearNet. This includes anything from Falungong goyslop to legitimate critique/news of Chinese politics.
To host a site on ChinaNet, you also need a government issued Chinese citizen identity card. How would Josh get one? The person will be held liable for everything. Am I willing to get a relatives'? Sure, but trouble will come knocking due to nasty laws.
Since Elliot's a lefty, one can expect he has less than nicer things to say about the CPC. It's fair to present those as an Ad Hominem, however, he is going to use a proxy such as his friends in the Chinese tech circle like that Naomi whatever person.
I will be more than happy to act as a mediator between the hoster and the site, but I'm not going to expose myself to these fuckers, especially not after some Neonazi tranny fucker (great allies, Elliot) swatted a congresswoman.
Didn't we try some Chinese host already and it lasted maybe a month? I guess it was one of those western facing ones.
