Jirard Khalil / The Completionist / ThatOneVideoGamer - Obsessive Compulsive Autist involved in a $780k case of charity fraud

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Most likely talking about his employees. Just another attempt at guilt trip to use that turn of phrase.
I don't get why so many YouTube videogame people have so many employees. GameGrumps, this guy, God knows who else. At most you should need 3 people; the front man, the editor, and some sort of pick-up guy, to do other stuff, what that might be, I don't know, I'm just kinda going with it. Point being, you don't need so many fucking employees to run a YouTube channel, especially if you're solo and not making your own network/collective; and even if you are operating a network/collective, you only need one or two people for every channel front man. To have up to 20 employees, I'd expect a network with 6 to 7 different personalities, not one dude who 100% games.

Someone's gotta 100% the games for him.

At least on the GameGrumps front, Arin is a fucking retard and wants to pay to his friends so they don't need real jobs. Would not be surprised if Jirard was in the same boat.

I think he was making the point that, even as they disown him, they're KEEPING THE MONEY.
I don't know since they have delievered on their end of the product/goal (a game), unless it was part of a donation goal that specifically Jirad would be an NPC, in which yeah, that would be a dick move on the studio's part. I feel more sympathy still since Jirad would just spend it on shit for his upcoming legal issues.

Reminds me of another character yeeted from a crowd funded game, this autistic dragon thing in undertale. The furry owner paid to have his character in, was fine for a while, then the internet discovered the character was a self insert fat fetish porn character so it was taken out (the other person who paid is a good character and a fan favorite at least). Fetish characters in a game that appeals to children and a game that just has a scammer as your constructions manager isn't on the same level though, it's creepy furry versus morally corrupt human, so I can see having him in still.

I think what you're seeing is that the whole YT content creator scene isn't as simple and straightforward as it appears to be.
I'm gonna parse this and try to claim there's a difference between being a YT Content Creator and the scene around it; and gonna assume it also applies to people who find themselves in Southern California, as that seems to be where these scene groups form. You shouldn't need more than 3 people for a one-person show; and again, I'm just throwing a third person in for miscellaneous shit I may not think of, the heavy lifting is the face and the editor. And for people who want merch, fucking find an artist and contract that shit out, it's that easy; you don't need a full office on staff to make bing bing wahoo videos.

I think people need to realize that Jirard being scummy and incompetent with money and Jobst and Mutahar being in it for clout and cash are not mutually exclusive. I would have been all on the side of the accusers if it wasn't for the gay legal posturing. "You gonna sue me bro, I can take it I'll sue the shit outta you too." It's just like Josh's theory about Dick Masterson, getting sued drives engagement, especially when there's a "real" bad person on the other end. Jobst also had a spat with Billy Mitchell who was also an actual scumbag.

It's probably not just the video side of the things. Who is to say he is the one organizing all the Indie Land stuff and he didn't hire someone for that and other plannibg. How do we know he is always the one playing his games during the cutaways? Maybe the rooms he sits in are sets and there's a crew involved?

I dunno, man, the more I read these rags-to-riches fairy tales on Wikipedia and elsewhere, I question everything. Secret handshakes, hyperbole, and perhaps complete fabrications all to create a YouTube personality made to push products.

Had? He's still actively being sued by Billy.

Muta and Karl being in it for the money doesn't change the facts. The idea that someone can't make money while talking about a serious topic is bullshit anyway.
Newspapers have ads. If a newspaper can be taken seriously while having a full page ad about air conditioning right next to a story about the war in Gaza, I don't know why a YouTuber can't be taken seriously for trying to make money while reporting on something.

Been following this thread since "the incident" first came to light. Throughout all of this every time I see a picture of Jirard I keep thinking back to this remark I heard about him on Twitch years ago. I think this was during the Super Mario Maker live contest that Nintendo did, but Jirard choked and lost and looked like he was on the verge of tears. The person restreaming the show and taking the piss out of it said something like "Man The Completionist looks like he just stress ate an entire pizza".

Jirard certainly has that same look about him in these apology videos...

Just because a Newspaper CAN do this doesn't discount the tonal dissonance. It paints a world of people in air conditioned rooms going "oh woe" at things happening far away from them.

we know the anwser for one creator...james/AVGN hired screenwave cause he's lazy and a semi-functional retard. plus family etc etc

You have no idea how good it feels to see this grifter going down. I always hated that fake nice-guy persona, was waiting for the act to fall apart at one point or another.
Still, even for how bad his situation is, Jirard handled it very poorly. I can't wait to see him flailing as he's circling the drain and gets swooped up by the talons of the IRS

The rats are starting to jump ship lmao. Love to see all these faggy non-threatening soyboys eating some crow.

I get wanting to make a joke but I don't think that's the time nor place for it especially when it's a link to a donation directly for the cause.
These people are everywhere. 12 days ago Defunctland, a YouTuber not even in the gaming sphere, made an announcement about live-cooking on-stream and raising money for charity. Mentions about Jirard have reached there too.
