If Gariepy is responsible for her disappearance, evidence can turn up later, maybe a dog digging up a bit of a jaw. It can be decades, but not so much time has passed. Also given how murderers can obliterate or conceal humans remains fairly successfully, they can also be convicted without a body. If she just wandered off, he's still weird.

Estranged ex-wife disappeared without a trace in 2016. No body was ever found. Was charged by the RCMP a few days ago. They are being tight lipped about their case with the media. My pet theory is an undercover befriended the ex-husband and got him to confess under the pretences of a long term friendship.

This case has actually gotten under my skin and made me MATI. Absolutely fucking nothing funny about this to me. Either he's so retarded that he let his actually mentally retarded wife go off into the wilderness with nothing and somehow thought everything would be fine and he didn't need to contact anyone, or he directly or indirectly killed her by either doing it himself or by letting her go off to her death without doing anything to stop it. Taking advantage of a retarded person and killing them is basically on the same level as killing a kid. He needs to face the fucking wall after due process. He's a sick fuck and I want the state to kill him.
