I don’t know about you guys, but if my wife told me she felt invisible and lacking attention, I don’t think my solution would be to go out to noisy clubs to “hear people’s stories.”

None of that bullshit rings even a little bit true. Nick has a talk show and every time there’s a guest, he demonstrates why it’s not called a listen show. Whenever someone else is speaking, you can see how busy he is thinking about what he’s going to say next. Add to that his utter inability to read social cues. I had to tap out of watching parts of the Fuddbuster episode due to the acute trauma of watching Nick fail to notice that he was being held in contempt and derision.

I don’t believe for a minute he and Kayla go out in search of great conversations at loud clubs. They go out in search of sexual titillation because Nick tells Kayla that will save their marriage and Kayla, in addition to hoping it will reignite his interest in her, is also a horn dog and is all too happy to go along with it.

But instead of deepening and expanding their intimacy, the entire debauched exercise has only eroded it. Getting blind drunk during your waking hours, sleeping until it’s time to go on YouTube, then kvetching to the internet about how hard your life is and how costly it is to support your wife’s existence doesn’t exactly scream “I’m so fucking in love with you.”

Something is fucky wucky with the numbers. I went to check on the latest Rumble stream/video numbers this morning, and it was at 29,352. I refresh a few minutes later out of curiosity (sadly didn't screencap the o.g. because the real number comes up in a tool tip), and he went up over 1000 views, now at 30,677. Are there really more than 1300 people watching at 11am CST? I realize on Rumble a watch = "have on screen for 10 seconds" or whatever, but that just feels juiced.

Now refreshing and the numbers are static. So maybe they just update over the hour, and I just checked in at the weird time. 20 viewers a minute still seems high (if it is an hour span to update).


I have better shit to do today than to autistically hit F5 and log, but it might be worth tracking the after show. I know @Potatoherder has been logging streams as they happen, but the "long tail" of VOD viewers also seems off.

She was 'Midwestern Mum' pretty. She looked like a mom, but that is what she was. I do not know about anyone else, but I do not expect a mum to look like a supermodel. In an ideal world (or a 'world of ideals') a consistent moral/philosophical stance is both admirable and desirable. In the real world, there is always ambiguity because not everyone will play by the rules, and the underlying assumptions of many outlooks do not map directly to reality. While you might admire people that can take a 100% consistent stand, it eventually ends up in a no-win endgame where 'If we do X, we are just as bad as them!' and people die or starve--whether by natural or hostile manipulative causes.

I do not know when 100% consistent morals and ideology became the epitome of virtue, but it sure has contributed to a rise in the population of hypocrites and a rise in the 'gotcha' style de-boonking and shaming of ideological opponents that is a net negative.

In the relax world, people do what they have to do. I thought everyone learned this as they grew up.

Cheekiness aside, I can appreciate how difficult it is to represent a realistic viewership statistic and eliminate any manipulation, especially multiple users/devices on same networks, etc. At best, Rumble takes a liberal route (count fucking everything) where it is simply doesn't have the ability to track people site-to-site the way that Google does seamlessly through its tendrils (Google Analytics, Google Fonts (do you *really* think they don't use those scripts to add to their data mine?), Google Ads, Google Search, etc). They even put in your flight information you took at the airport into your Location history if you have passively provided enough data to Google Locations...

Rumble can barely handle the playback tracking not being horrific. I doubt it can handle a proper tracking of views.
