NB: Though due to it's nature we'll discuss the underlying strategy behind them, the politspeging would be a better fit for US Politics or The Republican Primary thread. This thread is for laughing at insane Twitter people and marvelling that a serious Presidential candidate set tens of millions of dollars on fire paying them.

Two post OP. Post 1 is the introduction, history and context, post 2 is a catalogue of internet meltdowns by paid influencers. If you just want to see retards lose their shit over nothing, feel free to head there.

On Monday, December 18th, former Fox News contributor Tucker Carlson was on a video show at The Post Millennial with Tim Pool. In a 90 second clip that made it to Twitter, Tucker remarks on the odd fact that despite his favorable opinion of Republican Presidential Candidate Hopeful Robert 'Rob' 'Meatball' DeSantis, the people who represent him online are "The nastiest, the stupidest, and the most zero-sum people [he's] ever seen in his life." and questioning Rob's judgement for allowing it to happen. The clip would be view 2 million times by the next morning. (Archive) A large portion of these views are likely driven by the DeSantis campaigning calling attention to it and refuting these claims by calling Tucker a demonic sell out, idiot, and vowing to burn down the GOP if Ron isn't the nominee in a all night sperg out that as of writing is lasting into the next day.

When faced with the criticism that's they are proving Tucker's point by being insane people actively hurting Ron's image, they had this stellar rebuttal to a potential voter.

How did we get here? How, eight years after 2015-16 proved the value of a good social media campaign, does the GOP's former rising star allow his name to be carried by people so insane it's become a talking point? How could none of those millions of dollars produce a single positive online foot print? How did a guy the media was calling even more of a Hitler than Trump fade into obscurity while running for President? Who the fuck is in charge and why haven't they been fired? Well with less than a month to go before Iowa, let's take a look at a tale that has something for everyone. Deranged lunatics, grifters, unforced errors, legal troubles, Bernie Sanders level cope, Trump Derangement Syndrome and boardroom power struggles.

Part One: The Run.
In mid 2022, the path forward for the Republican Party seemed clear. Trump was an easy favorite for 2024, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the Crown Prince who would build his reputation as an effective leader, Trump without the drama, and almost certainly cruise to victory in 2028. The full details of why Ron decided to throw his hat into the ring may never be known, but to hear the DeSantoids tell it, it was in response to Trump betraying DeSantis only 3 days before Ron's reelection with a snide remark. To those of us paying attention, the wheels had clearly been in motion for a while with whispers of a DeSantis bid for months, and this was a warning shot. Anyone with a brain could tell you Presidential campaigns aren't spun up on a whim and it had been in the works for a while, but the DeSantoids stick to it as their Causes Belli. In reality it was more likely it involved GOP Megadonor and Never Trumper Ken Griffen who moved his 60 Billion dollar company to Miami after failing to buy his own Governor in Illinois and torpedoing the GOP's chances in that state. Here is surrogate Dave Reaboi, whose brand is a super serious political wise man, pretending he's barely even heard of the guy who gave Ron his largest contribution to reelection in a deleted tweet. Things were moving before the official announcement.
FihSyvnUYAIYe5z.jpg
The next big step would be the founding of Never Back Down '24 PAC and hiring of campaign consultant Jeff Roe. Roe had had success as Glenn Youngkin's campaign manager and slightly less success as Ted Cruz's 2016 manager. The reasoning behind NBD's existence would be revealed in a NYT article. With the media spotlight on him and donors opening the pocket books, DeSantis had finished his 2022 reelection campaign with 60 million dollars left in the bank. Finishing a campaign with extra funds is fairly common, as is shuffling those funds around to somewhere useful. The big thing the FEC does not allow is giving those donations to a future campaign, such as a presidential run.

It wasn't known at the time, but Roe had cooked up a scheme. Rather than disperse the money to various PACs and seek funding for the Campaign itself as a legal entity, as expected, they'd instead give the money to Never Back Down, who would take on the roles and responsibilities that Campaigns usually held. Here they would get too smart for their own good, as the FEC places restrictions on direct coordination between a Campaign and PAC. Ron would delay officially announcing, instead going on a 'book tour' that was a barely disguised campaign tour, earning him an Ethics Complaint from a Trump PAC. They are still salty about that.

Up to his announcement Ron would meet with NBD to coordinate the future strategy. This was technically legal as there was no official campaign yet. But Ron would soon reveal he didn't trust his hired experts, preferring the inputs of those he deemed 'loyal' over experience. To this end, NBD had an usual structure where Roe was at the top, but control laid with a five person board staffed by such political minds as Ron's college room mate and Ron's Navy room mate, who would relay his wishes as 'suggestions'. Those experts would then be quickly hired on by Trump for their inside information on how to get under Ron's skin.

The plan was straight forward. Ron would ride his media popularity and position himself as Trump Without The Drama. He would keep his head down and let his name recognition keep him in the media. As the obvious alternative to Trump, the old guard donors and media would flock to him, and he'd peel away soft Trump voters when Trump's legal problems and drama drove them off. Roe would even bank on a 25 to 50 million dollar donation from Ken Griffin that would never materialize. Despite being warned in March it was a losing proposition by his own consultants, Ron and NBD pushed on and declared in May 2023.

Part 2, Shock.
The first sign of trouble should have been the quality of online influencers willing to sign on with Never Back Down. With most people recognizing Ron was a losing gig, the talent pool left was filled with grifters, deranged Never Trumpers, political strivers, and butt hurt Cruz Missiles. Let's take a look at the team NBD managed to moneyball together on twitter. Note that these are not the average DeSantis voter, just the shills who can be easily identified by their echo chamber and repeating of the daily talking points that get sent out. The sperging isn't limited to any one of them as they all retweet each other, it's just a matter of what flavor of sperging you prefer. So feel free to shop around these links.
The A Team; Face Fags.
Christina Pushaw:
211117-christina-pushaw-hero_hxxnmr.jpg
Freshly returning from being a registered foreign agent involved in some glowie shit in Ukraine, Pushaw has handled DeSantis' press since 2021. Now works directly for the campaign. Widely regarded as the one running the social media campaign and responsible for their antagonism, but that may not be true as we'll see. Interacts with approved NBD accounts and is often called in to try and smooth over problems with media figures in a passive aggressive tone. Got horrible fucking Botox at some point and looks like a flounder.

Dave Reaboi:

Pictured here with Anal Toy enthusiast Jack Murphy. Dave is also a former registered foreign agent, this time for Hungry and the Sauds. One of the first hires, Dave has mostly abandoned his shtick as a far right blogger to become another mouth piece.

Pedro Gonzalez:
A confusing hire. Paydro is well known name on the internet right for being an unpleasant, 95 IQ grifter who jumps from fad to fad before being run off with waves of You Have To Go Back gifs. Pedro has had quite the political journey, emerging as a scorned Bernie Bro turned Trump supporter, before trying to get in close with Nick Fuentes and the Groypers, then a 'More Trump than Trump' conservative, and currently a Principled Conservative tired of the Trump show. Has been trying to get a job as a comms manager for years. Has a suspicious understanding of FEC loop holes he'll bring up unprompted.

Great Value Brand Glenn Beck and insane person. Looks like that. Currently has a Give Send Go campaign that is hitting an astonishing 0 dollars of a 10k a month goal. When not shilling for Ron enjoys complaining at Twitter support about how he's been throttled and selling precious metals to retirees. Has a well known screen cap admitting he gets daily talking point emails that I can't find in my folder, if anyone has it.

The B Team: Anonymous Troll Demons.
Bots, fake persons, paid for inactive accounts. Where the fun is. While the A Team may try to keep themselves employable, the B team has no such qualms and are usually responsible for the shit shows and attacks on potential allies. These ebb and flow, but the big ones are mostly consistent. Interestingly enough, some of the anonymous accounts have been assigned a 'character' by NBD. Because of the similarities I'll briefly list some big ones, a quick description of their role if applicable, and any shit shows they started.

Max Nordau:
A good intro to the parallel universe NBD lives in. Mostly a bot account that retweets anything positive about DeSantis, pretty much every loser and controversy will flow through his timeline. When he does post it's usually in rabid defense of greatest ally, being the most condescending prick possible to voters or engaging in semantic pilpul games. Rumored to be Bryan Giffith, Ron's Comms Director, but I don't personally believe it.

Stinson Norwood:
The Covid Avenger. Treats the lock downs like his own Auschwitz. Took the NBD talking point that Ron kept Florida open and ran with it until he ended up declaring lock downs worse than Iraq.
Screenshot 2023-11-25 at 10-22-16 (1) Stinson Norwood (@snorman1776) _ X.pngScreenshot 2023-11-25 at 10-28-07 (1) Stinson Norwood on X Bigger mistake _ X.png
His ability to use the twitter search function has made him the Archiever. Have you ever said anything nice about DeSantis but don't support him for President? Norwood here will bring up that tweet from 2016 and cuntishly ask for updates. Engages voters by spamming them with pictures of old people dying alone and accusing them of complacency.

Archive of the Iraq poll
Max Twain:
The insider. No matter what happens, he has an inside source in multiple campaigns and offices to provide leaks about the conspiracy to silence Ron. Seen here with a totally real leak that two state reps, Donald Trump, and Laura Loomer sit around all day making fun of Ron's wife.
Screenshot 2023-12-11 at 09-31-51 (1) Max Twain (@MaxTwain24) _ X.png
Possibly has a drinking problem as he'll randomly fly into hours long rages then disappear for a day. Has the distinction of making the only intentionally funny tweet in NBD history.
Bravo.png

Jesse James:
The Fighter. Unhinged lunatic who is in a constant break down screaming at low IQ Trump voters. Seems to been let go on Dec 6 and rehired after the latest power struggle.

Kaladin Free:
The Diversity Hire. Literally just a retarded nigger who makes every situation worse with his lack of impulse control and inability to think five minutes ahead.

Cryptid Politics:
Charmingly out of touch Boomer with a Computer. Has a long running feud with Trump influencer Nick Adams over who is the real Alpha Male. Or at least with the obvious satirical character Nick Adams has been playing for a year now. Hell, he might be Nick Adams promoting himself.

SPECIAL KIWI KROSSOVERS:
Naturally this level of grift money and polisperging attracts some names who already have their own threads here.
Laura Loomer
Screenshot 2023-11-29 at 10-09-46 (1) Max (@MaxNordau) _ X.png
Archive
Early on the campaign NBD decided it would be a good idea to prop up known lunatic Laura Loomer as a representative of the Trump campaign as an easy target. They would soon find however she is much crazier than them, and they are locked in with her. They now have to spend their time debunking her accusations that Ron had his sister-in-law killed in Italy to cover up money laundering from a global cabal of pedophiles.

Rebekah Jones

Former Florida state employee, fake whistleblower, criminal. Despite not being relevant for months, NBD never misses a chance to bring her up.

Tim Pool
TimPoolTheBetrayer.png
Tim Pool is NBD's personal Judas. After favorable coverage of Ron throughout his governance, Tim would commit the sin of still preferring Trump as President. NBD has never forgiven this and will attack him constantly. Beanie Man's Farms thread is nearing 600 pages in Grift Wars and Tim is the reasonable one in this situation.

Ian Miles Cheong
StillGray.png
Archive
Yeah, the guy who swatted Warski, he's here for some reason. A vulture circling over this dying lolcow, as of late December Cheong has started to worm his way into the grift by reply guying Pushaw and doing the hard hitting research like pulling up a Kwanzaa press release from the Trump White House to imply Trump is a Hotep I guess. We'll see if he'll hang around. Not to get too into the weeds, but NBD isn't focusing on the Malaysian primary. Because Malaysia is a country in South East Asia, noted for not being the US. Which is where IMC lives, having never set foot in America.

Part 3: Pain.
It soon became apparent Republican voters were not tired of Orange Man, and Ron was not the charisma machine they hoped. Though he did win over at least one person who was glad to see his aspie rage at being asked to talk to strangers represented. The cultural crusades against Woke and Disney didn't give him the resume he needed, nor was anyone interested in examining the minute details of who did what when during Covid. Panic set in at NBD as it became clear they fucked up. The DeSantis campaign would spend the summer flailing for a new direction and rebooting the campaign to no avail, actually losing support both to Trump and other challengers. It wasn't clear yet, but Never Back Down's hybrid Campaign/PAC structure had lead to mixed lines of communications and any deviation from the original plan was getting harder to communicate. In a legal gray area where actually exerting control would be illegal, divisions between the Loyalists and Experts began to grow.

By fall, the NBD social media team picked a direction. All out attack. Not the attack you'd expect from a professional campaign, but what you'd expect from a scorned woman with BPD. They decided to take the fight to not just Trump, but his voters, political allies, family, and eventually anyone who wasn't explicitly on Ron's side. Around here is where people began to notice Ron's campaign had become unhinged and acting in ways that no one with political sense would tolerate. NBD became full of dog piling attacks, conspiracy theories, and reality denial, which we'll try to detail in the next post. As Ron floundered in the polls, his staff seemed to determined to destroy any future he had.

Part 4: Who's in charge and oh yeah that FEC thing.
November would result in a major shake up at Never Back Down. It would cycle through 3 CEOs in as many weeks, as well several sackings of senior staff. The Anti Trump donors had flipped to Haley. With even more professionals cast off, the power struggle became obvious even to outsiders, with DeSantoid accounts splitting with campaign messaging and among themselves. The question had to be asked, who was in charge? Was the DeSantis campaign condoning what their proxies were doing, did they not know, or had they lost control of Jeff Roe's machine? The world wondered.

By December news had started to trickle out that Never Back Down might not be legal and was being looked into by the FEC. The article notes several instances of the RDS Campaign trying to control NBD's messaging directly, even Meatball himself stepping in.
CaseyAP.png

If you're paying attention to the screen shots, one name keeps popping up that would indeed be very close to Ron. One Never Back Down would always rush to defend the honor of. Ron's wife, Casey, was in a power struggle for control of Never Back Down and the online campaign. Other than intentional sabotage, the only explanation that made sense was that NBD and the Ron social media team served at the whim of DeSantis' narcissistic wife. It would explain the pettiness, the various shit shows produced to defend her honor, and why she was never revealed of duty. With a month to go until Iowa, things seemed dire for RDS24. And then it got worse.

On December 17th The Washington Post drops an article exploring the dysfunction.

Within hours Jeff Roe resigned after being accused publicly of mismanagement by the NBD board in said article.
The WaPo article gives us this interesting bit:
Close22.png

With less than a month to go until a do or die date in Iowa, the power struggle is over. Casey DeSantis has won and forced out the last opposition. With in two days of the coup, the effect can already be seen. Do you think that Tucker clip from the beginning doesn't involve Casey in anyway? Well, someone in Tallahassee disagrees. They'll even do a victory lap over the ad controversy between Roe and Casey mentioned in the AP article and screen shot above.
CaseyTucker1.pngCaseyAds.pngCaseyTucker.png

NB: Though due to it's nature we'll discuss the underlying strategy behind them, the general politspeging would be a better fit for
US Politics or The Republican Primary thread. This thread is for laughing at insane Twitter people and marveling that a serious Presidential candidate set tens of millions of dollars on fire paying them for a social media campaign so bad it has to be studied.

Burning 60 Million Dollars to Make Everyone Hate You, a record.

Never Back Down, either in an attempt to get anyone to talk about Ron or actual insanity, is constantly involved in controversy. If anyone would have been paying attention to their bubble, it likely would be a story earlier. This is post is a snap shot of several, as there's just too many to count, focusing on their tendency to alienate allies over minor slights, perceived slights, and sometimes for no reason at all. I'll also try to explain what weird logic they use to get upset where necessary.

Turning on Tucker:
Tucker Carlson has been on their shit list before the video above, earning a place in Never Back Down's pantheon of Great Betrayers along with Tim Pool. In November Trump attended a UFC event in New York with a small entourage, eclipsing Ron in the news cycle. This drove NBD into a frenzy, calling on God to destroy the false idol and the rubes who cheered him.
UFC.pngUFC1.pngUFC2.pngUFC3.pngUFC4.png
But of particular insult was the presence of Tucker Carlson. A large and sympathetic voice in conservative media, Tucker would be a good friend to have for Ron. But being in the presence of Orange Man counted as a betrayal that could never be forgiven, and he was declared Persona Non Grata.
UFTuck4.pngUFTuck3.pngUFTuck2.pngUFTuck1.pngUFTuck.png

The Fox Breakfast Fraud:
Fox host Lawrence Jones hosted a meeting in a diner for Fox viewers in North Carolina and interviewed them on who they were voting for. Not surprisingly, they all or mostly said Trump. Kaladin Free, retarded diversity hire and grifter put his double digit IQ to work and noticed something.
Fox3.png
No one had food! This was a coordinated stunt bought and paid for by the Trump campaign! Somehow, Jones got word of this accusation and explained they've been doing it for years, clearly states they advertise heavily it as chance to talk to their viewers and DeSantis had been on last week and would be on again next. Kaladin argues this is deceptive, because he thought it was a random diner the guy just walked into. Jones asks if he's fucking retarded and reminds him that they heavily advertise these things on air, on social media, and at local business before hand as a meet up for Fox viewers.
Fox4.pngOff in the head.png
Kaladin had a choice, admit he was wrong, delete his posts and move on... or be a nigger and escalate the situation.
Fox5.png

This has now blown up enough to attract attention from the rest of the campaign. Remember, Jones is a guy who platforms their candidate regularly and would be doing so again in a week. Be really stupid to send in everyone to attack him and look like deranged lunatics, no?
Screenshot 2023-12-06 at 14-56-32 (1) FreeStina Pushaw (@KaladinFree) _ X.pngSend in the army.pngFox1.png

Accidental voter fraud and Casey Simping:
While on Fox News to promote her new project, 'Moms for DeSantis' or something, Casey DeSantis made a call for out of state voters to flood Iowa to volunteer. Casey made the statement "You don't have to be an Iowa resident to participate in the Iowa caucus". But because Iowa is a caucus and not a vote and caucuses are dumb, 'participate' is the exact wording the IA GOP uses for 'voting', causing Iowa to release a statement calling this false. All in all who cares, put out a clarifying statement, say you meant volunteers, move on.
Article | Archive

But NBD won't miss chance to alienate allies, put out gaslighting attempts over something that would have faded over the weekend, be insufferable faggots, and fuel the speculation that Casey is in charge and they're paid to defend her honor.
Firstly, they're going to pretend the live interview on Fox that started this never happened and bust out the community notes (A favorite tactic) to redirect to a tweet Casey made afterwards and accusing people of lying about what anyone can watch with their own eyes. In fact, Trump, the GOP and the Media worked together to smear this wonderful lady. By airing her own words, I guess.
Screenshot 2023-12-11 at 10-11-20 (1) Max (@MaxNordau) _ X.pngScreenshot 2023-12-11 at 10-07-59 (1) Max (@MaxNordau) _ X.png
The tweet being mentioned is from U.S. Representative Greg Stuebe, R-FL. The kinda people Ron needs to work with to win anything. This is what I mean by how strangely defensive they are about Casey, look how vicious they get over light ribbing.
TwainRep.pngTwainRep1.png
This guy, Max Twain got assigned the character of 'informed insider'. So he's gonna confirm with his sources that a Florida rep, Donald Trump and Laura Loomer sit around all day making fun of Madame Casey's cancer. In fact, drag in another rep who hasn't even said anything about it, just because he's pro-Trump. Why not.
TwainLeak.png
Someone writes a bog standard campaign tweet about it? Accuse him of being a relapsed alcoholic.
TwainChris.png
The Iowa GOP had to put out a statement clarifying their rules because your guy's wife misspoke? It's a conspiracy! Accuse the head of the IA GOP of using it as a personal attack.
TwainIowa.png
Some guy states the obvious that he doesn't get why they did this? Don't use the opportunity to promote the thing that started all this, just call him a scumbag.
TwainLiam.png
In Chinese the character for 'Your guy's wife misspoke' is the same as 'Accuse two of your state reps and the party of a whole state you need to win of corruption for no reason.' Ron is running as an experienced politician.

The Christmas Party Kerfuffle:
After months of flirting, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu broke with Team Ron and endorsed Haley. In one of the last moments of what control Jeff Roe had, Ron got ahead of it, said he still liked Chris, and that he would focus on Americans, not endorsements. Someone managed to wrangle NBD into line, and the expected freak out was subdued. A minor miracle, Team Ron had used a bad situation to play to his strengths. At least while people were watching.

State Rep Juan Porras, R FL 119, came across this post from a well known DeSantis shill extolling Ron's leadership.
Unity.png

Juan, who endorsed Trump, had something interesting to add. Ron, who is still governor of Florida and still has two years left after he drops out, only invited his supporters to the Governor's Christmas Party. Minor yes, but clearly this is a problem if FL elected officials are publicly calling it out. Rep. Randy Fine, R FL 53, another vocal Trump supporter, confirmed this with a like. Tweet
ChristmasParty.png
This was big enough Pushaw herself stepped in to passive aggressively try and smooth things over.
Pushaw Party.png
Alas, her efforts were in vain, because Never Back Down had already seen it.
Nerd.png
What followed was one of the most insane dog piles I've ever seen.

HolyShit6.pngHolyShit5.pngHoly Shit 4.pngHolyShit3.pngHolyShit2.pngHolyShit1.png
I'm sure the Florida GOP will be very happy to work with Ron when he returns.

Pollgate:
Goodhart's Law is an axiom that when something is measured by a proxy, the proxy is in danger of becoming the goal. This is Never Back Down's approach to campaigning. By their metrics, they're running the best campaign they've ever seen. Ground game, endorsements, debate performances, phone banking, ad spending, they are doing it all by the book. Except for the small issue of getting votes. Polls have been a problem for NBD and they'll often mock Team Trump for, in their eyes, pursuing voters instead of Conservatism. It started off with good old fashioned tea reading, my personal favorite being "If everyone gets three votes it's virtually a tie."
Tied.png

Enter Techbro and DeSantis advisor Robert J. Salvador. He was going to prove the polls wrong. Not the methodology, or discussing the nature of statistical predictions, but that the whole polling industry was ran by a coalition of Trump, the media, the RNC, and the Democrats to keep Ron voters demoralized. The first target was Rasmussen, who they dog piled until the intern running the twitter feed declared jihad against them.
Pollgate0.png
Robert took this time to step in and declare he had invalidated every poll in the nation by spamming old polls at firms until they blocked him for being annoying. And then he replied to himself for weeks looking for attention.
pollgate.png
attentionseeking.png
Robert's next target was Trafalgar. Trafalgar's crime was releasing a poll at the dead line that had Chris Christie at 6 percent, qualifying him for the final RNC debate. NBD again swarmed with accusations that they had been bought off by Christie. It got so intense a vice president of the Trafalgar stepped in and threatened legal action.
Talfagarresponds.png
pollgate1.png
Robert would not be dumb enough to libel them under his real name, instead he presented a list of demands and attention seeking. If they didn't give him every single data point they had, explain their internal workings, prove to him they weren't biased AND debate him on Fox News, he would bring the full wrath of pollgate down on them.
pollgate2.png
Trafalgar blocked him and moved on. Robert is still at it though, threatening to expose pollsters and the whole racket if Ron isn't the front runner.

Letting the Mask Slip
Shilling for a dying campaign must be frustrating. It's understandable if you'd occasionally let off some steam by bitching about those retarded inbred hicks that make up most of your party and who's votes you're trying to win. Quickly approaching Bernie Sanders levels of blaming the voters for failing them.
Plebs2.pngPlebs1.pngPlebs.pngHatesWhites.pngFuckinVets.pngMaskOff.png

And I'll top it all off with a wonderful helping of RonAnon, the theory the entire world is conspiring against Ron.
RonAnon.png

These kinds of melt downs, attacks, conspiracies and accusations having been going non stop, every few days, for months. All tacitly approved of by the DeSantis Campaign. It's a complicated picture we don't have the whole of, but to answer the question 'What Happened to Ron?' anyone who's followed a sports team that hired a whiz kid guru as a coach knows the story. Too cute a plan, too rigid, unable to respond to changes once they get figured out. I find it interesting that during the planning sessions according to the NYT, Ron was focused on establishing 'Commander's Intent' for NBD. A vague but important military concept, it's the idea that independent operating subordinates should not just know what to do, but why they are doing it, allowing them to take more initiative. This is a a good move for what he was planning, but his role as a military lawyer did not impart on him the practical value of simplicity and the old axiom 'No plan survives contact with the enemy'. His decision to cast aside experienced consultants for his own inner circle, particularly his former news anchor wife who thinks he was chosen by God, elevated this from a mistake to a disaster that will be dissected for months after.

Oh well, nothing to do now but watch it burn and laugh at retards on the internet. Special thanks to @TheDarknessGrows and @BootlegPopeye.

Thank you for putting this together. The last few months have been wild enough without the avalanche of scrutiny that is barreling toward NBD PAC.

To elaborate a little for newcomers to this issue:
  • like OP says, there is a new meltdown every few days and that is speeding up as DeSantis' campaign falters.
  • the paid shills are fucking incredible to watch
  • and the fun part, the real part: DeSantis' campaign is about to be blown the fuck out for violations of campaign finance laws because Super PACs and campaigns are not allowed to coordinate.
So you've got a guy that blew up his career at its height and now has to stay in the race as long as possible because they don't sue you until you lose.

It is a political cow thread. Might not have a ton of interest; but for people that like inside baseball and political tomfoolery, this is very likely to be a rare chance to watch a political immolation from start to finish and everyone but Ron DeSantis saw it two years ago.

Buckle up and get your corn. It'll be a slow ride.

I don't have much to contribute about the inside baseball stuff.

I'm baffled like everyone else why and how DeSantis' stock plummeted so precipitously.

He was lauded during '21 and to a lesser degree in '22 for being a force for good in pushing against COVID BS as governor. Even more so than Trump.

But even though being anti-jab is more en vogue now, it's no longer the frontlines of the culture war and DeSantis doesn't get the credit he once did.

A lot of the framing of pre-declaration DeSantis I was exposed to was through occasionally watching pre-surrogate Dave Rubin. Rubin pulled up stakes in California suddenly after participating in Larry Elder's failed Gavin Newsom recall campaign. He moved his operation and small staff to Florida. Rubin really trades on his networking and name-dropping to maintain relevancy because he's just not that interesting or insightful himself.

With Rubin's move to Florida and leaving most of his LA right-leaning contacts behind, DeSantis became his new stalking horse. He took every opportunity he could to shit on Cali and proclaim how wonderful and free his new adopted home of Florida was, all thanks to the guiding hand of Dear Leader Ron. IIRC, he ran a contest where he paid a fine on air anytime he mentioned Cali on air, picking a winner to pay their moving costs out of California (and to the "Great State of Florida").

He stroked DeSantis off for how great he handled that Hurricane that wiped out all those bridges and resort towns. He'd always humblebrag about having dinner with the Governor or would be later MCing one of his events.

But Dave being a creature of Glenn Beck and The Blaze meant that he had to play the field. So despite him putting DeSantis on a pedestal, he would always have to couch everything that DeSantis was his 1A choice to Trump's 1B.

Needs a run through a spell check but otherwise fine thread. Just a few examples of odd spelling, and their fixes since I think OP is either ESL, has severe brain damage from a lack of oxygen in the womb, or is from one of the not-very-educated southern states of the US.
  1. Santiods, should be Santoids I guess?

  8. apparant > apparent
  9. opisition > opposition
  10. accoused > accused

This is the lamest of lame politisperging. If any of you were even capable of looking at this from outside, both sides are doing the same retarded shit, and will all be forgotten in months when you'll be back to begging these people for endorsements and to do the exact same "mean tweets" shit they are doing now against the other other team. Stay in your election sperg containment hole.

I was listening to a discussion yesterday about the abject failure that is Ron DeSantis. To sum it up:

All Ron DeSantis had to do was nothing. He was in position to be VP under Trump. And then SOMEONE goaded him into running and blowing up his career.

Thanks, I'll get them. Spell check died for some reason possibly TRW related and when I went to go back after a break the site was down.

@AeroGavin Rossdale I have a bunch of free time tonight if you want me to edit some of this for spelling.
Thanks, but I got it.

Anyway, sperging post is up. I nailed it first try and didn't fuck anything up. Fleshing out the Monster Manual is next.
