NB: Though due to it's nature we'll discuss the underlying strategy behind them, the politspeging would be a better fit for US Politics or The Republican Primary thread. This thread is for laughing at insane Twitter people and marvelling that a serious Presidential candidate set tens of millions of dollars on fire paying them.
Two post OP. Post 1 is the introduction, history and context, post 2 is a catalogue of internet meltdowns by paid influencers. If you just want to see retards lose their shit over nothing, feel free to head there.
On Monday, December 18th, former Fox News contributor Tucker Carlson was on a video show at The Post Millennial with Tim Pool. In a 90 second clip that made it to Twitter, Tucker remarks on the odd fact that despite his favorable opinion of Republican Presidential Candidate Hopeful Robert 'Rob' 'Meatball' DeSantis, the people who represent him online are "The nastiest, the stupidest, and the most zero-sum people [he's] ever seen in his life." and questioning Rob's judgement for allowing it to happen. The clip would be view 2 million times by the next morning. (Archive) A large portion of these views are likely driven by the DeSantis campaigning calling attention to it and refuting these claims by calling Tucker a demonic sell out, idiot, and vowing to burn down the GOP if Ron isn't the nominee in a all night sperg out that as of writing is lasting into the next day.

When faced with the criticism that's they are proving Tucker's point by being insane people actively hurting Ron's image, they had this stellar rebuttal to a potential voter.

How did we get here? How, eight years after 2015-16 proved the value of a good social media campaign, does the GOP's former rising star allow his name to be carried by people so insane it's become a talking point? How could none of those millions of dollars produce a single positive online foot print? How did a guy the media was calling even more of a Hitler than Trump fade into obscurity while running for President? Who the fuck is in charge and why haven't they been fired? Well with less than a month to go before Iowa, let's take a look at a tale that has something for everyone. Deranged lunatics, grifters, unforced errors, legal troubles, Bernie Sanders level cope, Trump Derangement Syndrome and boardroom power struggles.
Part One: The Run.
In mid 2022, the path forward for the Republican Party seemed clear. Trump was an easy favorite for 2024, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the Crown Prince who would build his reputation as an effective leader, Trump without the drama, and almost certainly cruise to victory in 2028. The full details of why Ron decided to throw his hat into the ring may never be known, but to hear the DeSantoids tell it, it was in response to Trump betraying DeSantis only 3 days before Ron's reelection with a snide remark. To those of us paying attention, the wheels had clearly been in motion for a while with whispers of a DeSantis bid for months, and this was a warning shot. Anyone with a brain could tell you Presidential campaigns aren't spun up on a whim and it had been in the works for a while, but the DeSantoids stick to it as their Causes Belli. In reality it was more likely it involved GOP Megadonor and Never Trumper Ken Griffen who moved his 60 Billion dollar company to Miami after failing to buy his own Governor in Illinois and torpedoing the GOP's chances in that state. Here is surrogate Dave Reaboi, whose brand is a super serious political wise man, pretending he's barely even heard of the guy who gave Ron his largest contribution to reelection in a deleted tweet. Things were moving before the official announcement.

The next big step would be the founding of Never Back Down '24 PAC and hiring of campaign consultant Jeff Roe. Roe had had success as Glenn Youngkin's campaign manager and slightly less success as Ted Cruz's 2016 manager. The reasoning behind NBD's existence would be revealed in a NYT article. With the media spotlight on him and donors opening the pocket books, DeSantis had finished his 2022 reelection campaign with 60 million dollars left in the bank. Finishing a campaign with extra funds is fairly common, as is shuffling those funds around to somewhere useful. The big thing the FEC does not allow is giving those donations to a future campaign, such as a presidential run.
It wasn't known at the time, but Roe had cooked up a scheme. Rather than disperse the money to various PACs and seek funding for the Campaign itself as a legal entity, as expected, they'd instead give the money to Never Back Down, who would take on the roles and responsibilities that Campaigns usually held. Here they would get too smart for their own good, as the FEC places restrictions on direct coordination between a Campaign and PAC. Ron would delay officially announcing, instead going on a 'book tour' that was a barely disguised campaign tour, earning him an Ethics Complaint from a Trump PAC. They are still salty about that.
Up to his announcement Ron would meet with NBD to coordinate the future strategy. This was technically legal as there was no official campaign yet. But Ron would soon reveal he didn't trust his hired experts, preferring the inputs of those he deemed 'loyal' over experience. To this end, NBD had an usual structure where Roe was at the top, but control laid with a five person board staffed by such political minds as Ron's college room mate and Ron's Navy room mate, who would relay his wishes as 'suggestions'. Those experts would then be quickly hired on by Trump for their inside information on how to get under Ron's skin.
The plan was straight forward. Ron would ride his media popularity and position himself as Trump Without The Drama. He would keep his head down and let his name recognition keep him in the media. As the obvious alternative to Trump, the old guard donors and media would flock to him, and he'd peel away soft Trump voters when Trump's legal problems and drama drove them off. Roe would even bank on a 25 to 50 million dollar donation from Ken Griffin that would never materialize. Despite being warned in March it was a losing proposition by his own consultants, Ron and NBD pushed on and declared in May 2023.
Part 2, Shock.
The first sign of trouble should have been the quality of online influencers willing to sign on with Never Back Down. With most people recognizing Ron was a losing gig, the talent pool left was filled with grifters, deranged Never Trumpers, political strivers, and butt hurt Cruz Missiles. Let's take a look at the team NBD managed to moneyball together on twitter. Note that these are not the average DeSantis voter, just the shills who can be easily identified by their echo chamber and repeating of the daily talking points that get sent out. The sperging isn't limited to any one of them as they all retweet each other, it's just a matter of what flavor of sperging you prefer. So feel free to shop around these links.

Early on the campaign NBD decided it would be a good idea to prop up known lunatic Laura Loomer as a representative of the Trump campaign as an easy target. They would soon find however she is much crazier than them, and they are locked in with her. They now have to spend their time debunking her accusations that Ron had his sister-in-law killed in Italy to cover up money laundering from a global cabal of pedophiles.

Tim Pool is NBD's personal Judas. After favorable coverage of Ron throughout his governance, Tim would commit the sin of still preferring Trump as President. NBD has never forgiven this and will attack him constantly. Beanie Man's Farms thread is nearing 600 pages in Grift Wars and Tim is the reasonable one in this situation.

Yeah, the guy who swatted Warski, he's here for some reason. A vulture circling over this dying lolcow, as of late December Cheong has started to worm his way into the grift by reply guying Pushaw and doing the hard hitting research like pulling up a Kwanzaa press release from the Trump White House to imply Trump is a Hotep I guess. We'll see if he'll hang around. Not to get too into the weeds, but NBD isn't focusing on the Malaysian primary. Because Malaysia is a country in South East Asia, noted for not being the US. Which is where IMC lives, having never set foot in America.
Part 3: Pain.
It soon became apparent Republican voters were not tired of Orange Man, and Ron was not the charisma machine they hoped. Though he did win over at least one person who was glad to see his aspie rage at being asked to talk to strangers represented. The cultural crusades against Woke and Disney didn't give him the resume he needed, nor was anyone interested in examining the minute details of who did what when during Covid. Panic set in at NBD as it became clear they fucked up. The DeSantis campaign would spend the summer flailing for a new direction and rebooting the campaign to no avail, actually losing support both to Trump and other challengers. It wasn't clear yet, but Never Back Down's hybrid Campaign/PAC structure had lead to mixed lines of communications and any deviation from the original plan was getting harder to communicate. In a legal gray area where actually exerting control would be illegal, divisions between the Loyalists and Experts began to grow.
By fall, the NBD social media team picked a direction. All out attack. Not the attack you'd expect from a professional campaign, but what you'd expect from a scorned woman with BPD. They decided to take the fight to not just Trump, but his voters, political allies, family, and eventually anyone who wasn't explicitly on Ron's side. Around here is where people began to notice Ron's campaign had become unhinged and acting in ways that no one with political sense would tolerate. NBD became full of dog piling attacks, conspiracy theories, and reality denial, which we'll try to detail in the next post. As Ron floundered in the polls, his staff seemed to determined to destroy any future he had.
Part 4: Who's in charge and oh yeah that FEC thing.
November would result in a major shake up at Never Back Down. It would cycle through 3 CEOs in as many weeks, as well several sackings of senior staff. The Anti Trump donors had flipped to Haley. With even more professionals cast off, the power struggle became obvious even to outsiders, with DeSantoid accounts splitting with campaign messaging and among themselves. The question had to be asked, who was in charge? Was the DeSantis campaign condoning what their proxies were doing, did they not know, or had they lost control of Jeff Roe's machine? The world wondered.
By December news had started to trickle out that Never Back Down might not be legal and was being looked into by the FEC. The article notes several instances of the RDS Campaign trying to control NBD's messaging directly, even Meatball himself stepping in.

If you're paying attention to the screen shots, one name keeps popping up that would indeed be very close to Ron. One Never Back Down would always rush to defend the honor of. Ron's wife, Casey, was in a power struggle for control of Never Back Down and the online campaign. Other than intentional sabotage, the only explanation that made sense was that NBD and the Ron social media team served at the whim of DeSantis' narcissistic wife. It would explain the pettiness, the various shit shows produced to defend her honor, and why she was never revealed of duty. With a month to go until Iowa, things seemed dire for RDS24. And then it got worse.
On December 17th The Washington Post drops an article exploring the dysfunction.
Within hours Jeff Roe resigned after being accused publicly of mismanagement by the NBD board in said article.
The WaPo article gives us this interesting bit:

With less than a month to go until a do or die date in Iowa, the power struggle is over. Casey DeSantis has won and forced out the last opposition. With in two days of the coup, the effect can already be seen. Do you think that Tucker clip from the beginning doesn't involve Casey in anyway? Well, someone in Tallahassee disagrees. They'll even do a victory lap over the ad controversy between Roe and Casey mentioned in the AP article and screen shot above.

NB: Though due to it's nature we'll discuss the underlying strategy behind them, the general politspeging would be a better fit for US Politics or The Republican Primary thread. This thread is for laughing at insane Twitter people and marveling that a serious Presidential candidate set tens of millions of dollars on fire paying them for a social media campaign so bad it has to be studied.

The A Team; Face Fags.
Christina Pushaw:

Freshly returning from being a registered foreign agent involved in some glowie shit in Ukraine, Pushaw has handled DeSantis' press since 2021. Now works directly for the campaign. Widely regarded as the one running the social media campaign and responsible for their antagonism, but that may not be true as we'll see. Interacts with approved NBD accounts and is often called in to try and smooth over problems with media figures in a passive aggressive tone. Got horrible fucking Botox at some point and looks like a flounder.
Dave Reaboi:

Pictured here with Anal Toy enthusiast Jack Murphy. Dave is also a former registered foreign agent, this time for Hungry and the Sauds. One of the first hires, Dave has mostly abandoned his shtick as a far right blogger to become another mouth piece.
Pedro Gonzalez:
A confusing hire. Paydro is well known name on the internet right for being an unpleasant, 95 IQ grifter who jumps from fad to fad before being run off with waves of You Have To Go Back gifs. Pedro has had quite the political journey, emerging as a scorned Bernie Bro turned Trump supporter, before trying to get in close with Nick Fuentes and the Groypers, then a 'More Trump than Trump' conservative, and currently a Principled Conservative tired of the Trump show. Has been trying to get a job as a comms manager for years. Has a suspicious understanding of FEC loop holes he'll bring up unprompted.

Bill Mitchell:

Great Value Brand Glenn Beck and insane person. Looks like that. Currently has a Give Send Go campaign that is hitting an astonishing 0 dollars of a 10k a month goal. When not shilling for Ron enjoys complaining at Twitter support about how he's been throttled and selling precious metals to retirees. Has a well known screen cap admitting he gets daily talking point emails that I can't find in my folder, if anyone has it.

John Burk:

Particularly vile creature. Every thing you need to know about him is in the header. Vet Bro Alpha Male Podcaster and internet tough guy. Can't be bought and will stand on his principles which are selling hemp infused energy drinks.

Certified Internet Bad Ass folks.

Robert Salvador:
Tech bro and advisor. Head of #pollgate, a quest to destroy the entire notion of polls rather than admit Ron is down 40. Almost got sued for libel after accusing Trafalgar of being paid off by the Christie Campaign of all things. Has it's own section in the next post.
John Cardillo:
Former radio host and NY transplant. Spends his days yelling at Trump.
Chris Nelson:
Types like he cut out the coke a few years too late. Main thing seems to be ambushing politicians at public events and yelling DeSantis talking points at them.
Shannon Joy:
Hosts a radio show on Rumble. Looney. Occasionally pulls the woman card to declare D tier Trump Influencers horrible misogynists.
Jenna Ellis
Same as above but will sell you precious metal investments.

The B Team: Anonymous Troll Demons.
Bots, fake persons, paid for inactive accounts. Where the fun is. While the A Team may try to keep themselves employable, the B team has no such qualms and are usually responsible for the shit shows and attacks on potential allies. These ebb and flow, but the big ones are mostly consistent. Interestingly enough, some of the anonymous accounts have been assigned a 'character' by NBD. Because of the similarities I'll briefly list some big ones, a quick description of their role if applicable, and any shit shows they started.
Max Nordau:
A good intro to the parallel universe NBD lives in. Mostly a bot account that retweets anything positive about DeSantis, pretty much every loser and controversy will flow through his timeline. When he does post it's usually in rabid defense of greatest ally, being the most condescending prick possible to voters or engaging in semantic pilpul games. Rumored to be Bryan Giffith, Ron's Comms Director, but I don't personally believe it.
Stinson Norwood:
The Covid Avenger. Treats the lock downs like his own Auschwitz. Took the NBD talking point that Ron kept Florida open and ran with it until he ended up declaring lock downs worse than Iraq.

His ability to use the twitter search function has made him the Archiever. Have you ever said anything nice about DeSantis but don't support him for President? Norwood here will bring up that tweet from 2016 and cuntishly ask for updates. Engages voters by spamming them with pictures of old people dying alone and accusing them of complacency.

Archive of the Iraq poll
Max Twain:
The insider. No matter what happens, he has an inside source in multiple campaigns and offices to provide leaks about the conspiracy to silence Ron. Seen here with a totally real leak that two state reps, Donald Trump, and Laura Loomer sit around all day making fun of Ron's wife.

Possibly has a drinking problem as he'll randomly fly into hours long rages then disappear for a day. Has the distinction of making the only intentionally funny tweet in NBD history.

Jesse James:
The Fighter. Unhinged lunatic who is in a constant break down screaming at low IQ Trump voters. Seems to been let go on Dec 6 and rehired after the latest power struggle.
Kaladin Free:
The Diversity Hire. Literally just a retarded nigger who makes every situation worse with his lack of impulse control and inability to think five minutes ahead.
Cryptid Politics:
Charmingly out of touch Boomer with a Computer. Has a long running feud with Trump influencer Nick Adams over who is the real Alpha Male. Or at least with the obvious satirical character Nick Adams has been playing for a year now. Hell, he might be Nick Adams promoting himself.
