Sure, there are people who live on the streets because they just got unlucky, and could get on their feet with simple monetary aid, but they are the exception, not the rule! The large majority of people on the streets suffer from either serious drug issues or mental health issue, usually both.

Pat is an asshole, and I make fun of him a lot. But whatever I may think of him, seeing a rare moment when he is lovingly talking about his daughter as a dad makes me happy. It doesn't happen much, but sometimes - just sometimes! - he can act like a human, and make me question if he really deserves all the shit we give him.
