My only organic experience of this nigger (i.e. before he became infamous) was randomly giving his alt hist scenarios a shot and immediately cottoning him as an autist due to how often he repeated his narrative points and his weirdass fixation with turkey becoming a superpower again

Seeing how much worse he has become fills me with whimsy and joy

The X spergery continues.

>I got so much shit for "predicting" things that were already happening
Lol, lmao.
The most side-splitting part of that compendium of nonsense has got to be "China turning Maoist", predicted in 2021.

Second place is probably "a series of coups in Africa". This is a "prediction" that has been certain to come true at any time since 1955.

Another thing: As a self-styled 'historian', how does Rudyard even rationalise his attempting to predict the future? This activity is usually the province of rabble such as "futurists", religious/cult charlatans and occultists, not historians - their business is with the past, not future.

Rudyard has moved away from the historian label into the high-powered field of geopolitical analysis, you see. Basically it's alt history but for the future.

Just for fun, here's when most of these things became events a knowledgeable follower of the respective country/region could reasonably predict:

Russian invasion: Feb 2014, Maidan Uprising. If he saw the expanded war coming after Zelensky's election in 2019, he does deserve some credit.

China turning Maoist. This one is my favorite because it is so vague. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely was in which Xi's style rule is becoming more comparable to Mao's than any of his other predecessors, but there are also lots of ways they are nothing alike. Mao was a bona fide radical and revolutionary in every sense. Xi is nothing of the sort. I don't know if he ever explained what he meant by this in any meaningful way, but Xi's centralizing and cult of personality generating traits were already widely discussed after the first party congress he presided over (2017). China has always claimed Taiwan as their rightful clay so this one is just pointless.

US Civil War. I certainly don't take this seriously, but some people have had an increasing belief in this since early 2016 as Trump came along.

Far right movements in the West. I'd date this make to the succession of Euro crises and the influx of refugees circa 2009 to 2015. I think there's also an analog in the US with some of the people who hated Obama, but I don't know much about that.

African coups. This one is actually better than it looks. There actually was a lull in coups for a number of years. But these things can be somewhat cyclical and it's never a bad prediction. I'd be curious to see what reasoning he put forward as to why there would be a coming wave of coups and compare that to actual analyst's takes on successful coups.

Minor wars in Middle East. This one is most baffling to me. What is he referring to? He posted this not long ago so I assume he feels vindicated by the ongoing minor war in Gaza. But Gaza and Israel also fought a war in 2021. The whole region has had a huge number of ongoing wars since the Arab Spring, most of which could be called minor on a global scale (though humanitarian costs can be huge). Libya, Syria, Yemen, Western Sahara, Sudan have all been going on for a decade. More recently there's a new war in Sudan and slightly reformulated one in Libya. I'd say this was easily predictable in 2011 (Arab Spring) if not 2003 (Iraq War).

SJW. A theme that's been going on since...2012? A long time. If you asked someone like Rudy in 2016 they'd say that this had already spiraled into madness. This one is too political and subjective to even discuss.

Recession. Another one that's never a bad bet given the cyclical nature of these things. But if you recall, analysts widely predicted a not-too-distant recession in 2019. Then we had the COVID crash, a ludicrously rapid recovery, and some changed circumstances, and an actual recession. It is often argued that we're still due, because of cyclical and other reasons, for that recession which the pandemic delayed. For the past year or more, the newspapers have been full of speculation on this subject. It's hardly a unique or daring prediction.

Relatively random rambling: in one of videos, he laments that US pop culture makes teen comedies that glorify throwing a wild party while your parents are away, and argues "the ancients" would be horrified at the sheer thought of it.

I present to you, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mostellaria

Granted, theatre was a low-brow form of entertainment in antiquity and the antics of main character aren't necessarily treated as a good thing, but the modern films aren't treated as high art either, at least contemporarily. This may sound like a nitpick, but it's possibly emblematic on the way WhatIfAltHist makes his arguments.

In the 19th century these guys were called "Gentleman Scholars". Initially this just meant rich people who did science (like Isaac Newton), but by the advent of the Edwardian era the term had acquired a distinct negative connotation. (These wankers were obsessed with Ancient Rome and Greece back then too, especially their perceived similarities to the British Empire)

I pretty much agree with your analysis of his "predictions", but would add that the African "lull in coups" was basically PR drummed up by the African Union (they loudly proclaimed that this was the case and therefore further coups "would not be tolerated any more" and "action would be taken". The nature of such "action" was never stated and turned out to be jack shit, though.)

With respect to "Wars in the Middle East", if you count Morocco as part of this area, they've been permanently at war trying to conquer Southern Sahara ever since the Spanish buggered off there. (Sure, the US Presidential visit during which Morocco's claim on the place was explicitly endorsed really didn't fucking help)

Are we sure this guy is really called "Rudyard"? That name just seems too good to be true, what with it's similarity to Rudyard Kipling.

PS: Back in 2016 Mr. Lynch would 100% have considered himself part of the fart-huffing clique known as the "Intellectual Dark Web".

Yes, Rudy. I am sure that the moment the inevitable civil war starts, we will see a mass rape crisis like we've never seen before. I already have my bondage gear and ballgag ready, these roasties will regret laughing at us individualist types over the internet!

Seriously, what kind of prediction is this? I can easily make a prediction that should a civil war start, we will see a mass nigger rape crisis where males will be abducted and literally buck broken by white right wingers. Where is the proof? What would lead me to come to a conclusion like this?

Yeah I always thought he had a name (Rudyard Lynch) that sounded like some 1800s guy in a sepia picture with a full beard. It's an important-sounding name for a pretty unimportant man.

Apparently his subreddit got banned.
I was unable to gather any screenshots before the jannies nuked it but from what I gathered, it was kind of an unmoderated mess, with every other post being about something tangentially related to race realism.
What I found that was interesting is that the WhatifAltHist discord is quite active and that very few of the active users on it actually like Rudyard. If you look at his twitter comments section, its a bunch of 40 year old social media influencers saying that the slop that Rudyard makes was "Deep" and "profound" without elaborating. Just like his persona, it feels fake.
Whats worse, is that he's associating with fucking Curt Dolittle. You know, the guy whose associate John Mark, who seemed like a glowie, extolled the virtues of using the VCDL 2020 Rally Day against gun control as a means to cause a civil war in America and pissed himself while saying to a bunch of black guys how black men are stronger and have larger penises?

What a fucking idiot. Rudyard said in a video he had a below average IQ and this seems to definitely confirm it. Imagine having such shitty instincts you tie your IRL persona to a guy whose colleague basically advocated for right wingers to engage in domestic terrorism and you did absolutely zero background research on him, because I found this on the 1st set of results on Google.

The event I am referring to was the one that sounded the death knell of Doolittle-ism. This was an outdoor event held in Richmond Virginia, where Doolittle attempted to take his movement IRL, with a public signing of his "Declaration of Reformation." In addition to Propertarians, this also involved civ-nats, militia groups, and even some BLM activists. Unfortunately for a man who believes in demanding property rights through violence, Doolittle ended up pissing his pants when confronted by a few, gentle BLM activists, who were clearly struggling to understand his message that all good things flow from the worship of private property ("anti-gibs"). Making this even worse, the incident of incontinence happened just after Doolittle tried to placate the BLMers by complimenting them on the purely hypothetical size of their sexual organs.

The sub originally didn't disagree with Rudy either but eventually it came around, especially once the mods started falling asleep.

Also AgainstHateSubreddits is malding over it. And I've received word that the poster this time is actually Bardfinn on an alt.

Interesting. I checked it out a few times in the past weeks since I first saw this thread. Based on what I saw, it seemed really good by Reddit standards. A mix of people who seemed to be fans and people mocking him (from 'both sides' of current year political binary), plus a fair amount of bots. Though some of what came off to me as bots might not have actually been spam but was just too esoteric and random for me.

Shame to see it go as it really was an odd forum and I would have liked to have delved deeper.

Edit: A shame and also really strange. Sure some of the fans and detractors with similar views to Rudyard made posts raising non-Reddit approved questions about black people and the like, but there was tons of criticism and very little that would fall under Reddit's (admittedly quite broad) definition of 'hate'. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised by Reddit banning even mild stuff.
