Oh don't be silly. More like 95% of people. Even Lefties in my ultra Blue state are sick to death of these kind of characters and storytelling. From what they tell me is that times are hard right now. People can use a little hope and optimism to get them through the day and cheer them up. They are getting sick to death of the constant nihilism and cynicism that plagues modern entertainment. As I said before this game will be a product of its time. A relic of a begone era where the writers of that age thought nihilism and cynicism equaled intelligence and artistic value.

The problem, is that the higher ups, i.e. Leaders of the World, don't want people to have hope for the future, and thus are pushing hard with all of this dark and nihilistic crap media being shoved down people's throats. It's not too much different from the CCP's playbook in regards to media, where they ban every piece of media that would be seen as giving hope to changing the regime, and other countries probably want to do the same thing.

At least Jason should have been able to tell something was up since, lets face it, he would be the most dangerous member of the Batfamily for Bats to fight since he wouldnt insist on the "We gotta save him" and just go for the "I feel bad part of me will enjoy this" phase when saving Bruce doesnt work.

Hold up, if this is a sequel to the Arkham games, shouldn't Amanda Waller and King Shark both be dead already.
Because the animated movie "Assault On Arkham" is part of that continuity and it ended with Deadshot sniping a morbidly obese Amanda Waller. Not to mention the drastic redesign for King Shark.

You can make a list of inconsistencies of the arkham series that all kind of climax with this entry. You can argue that this ignores anything not directly made by Rocksteady (origins, comics and animated movies) but even then there are still inconsistencies like Deadshot being black now in what is totally not a move to levitate visually towards the Suicide Squad movies.

You find Tim Drake's corpse in the Batcave according to the leaked summary. For all we know, you'll find the rest there as well.

Jessica was nowhere near innocent. She ordered Carlos' execution and taunted you constantly over it.

The only people he showed respect towards was those he knew since the beginning. Johnny Gat and Aisha he cared about since joining The Saints and Mr. Wong the Triad Boss when he worked for him in SR1 but Shaundi, Pierce and Carlos. He didn't respect them too much.

He may not have respected them, but he cared deeply for them. Well, as much as a sociopath can anyways. The entire reason Boss went after Jessica was because of what she did to Carlos and he saved Shaundi from that creep Neil Patrick Harris voiced. Hell, he actually might have respected Carlos since he gave him control over how to handle the Brotherhood when he had such little experience.

Otherwise, yeah, Rocksteady can't write villains as protagonists. Then again, not many people can anymore. A lot of people can't seem to dissociate from the characters they write and as such feel "icky" when writing about things they deem bad, which is why so many characters in comics now are so laughably bad and villains end up coming off sounding like the good guys. No one understands that the characters are not a representation of you... at least they aren't supposed to be.

What DC and WB don't understand is that Harley was interesting when she was the Joker's sidekick. She was the Bonnie to his Clyde. The problem now is, due to #MeToo, having Harley be the abused sidekick who is madly in love with the Joker is too "problematic". She needs to be "liberated", "empowered" and also a lesbian. What DC, WB and feminists also don't understand is that Harley was never meant to be this. This is all detrimental to what her character was suppose to be. Thankfully Modern Harley has more or less failed. All the movies and shows she has starred in have bombed with general audiences. People don't want a Harley without the Joker.

Yep makes sense considering they replaced him with his son who they made lame and gay a while ago, and they made some comic where Superman gets captured and raped in the ass recently too.

I think this is mostly true, but I also think Harley can work without the Joker. Unfortunately, it requires her having a character to explore beyond being a quippy #BossBitch and beyond just being Joker's lackey. And most writing with her modern character falls short of that. You can't have something like BtAS's Harley's Holiday today, where she's a good-natured ditz who has chaos follow her around, and who shows (and is shown) sympathy with Batman. I think it's more of a condemnation of the writers than the potential of the character, who are, as you say, more focused on having her be this symbol of "empowerment" over having her be a character with traces of depth, like how she was able to capture and (almost) kill Batman, until the Joker got pissy about it.

Arkham Knight already did that, it explored what Harley would be like without Joker there to tell her what to do. And as odd as it sounds, she does manage to be something of a "strong woman" leading Joker's old gang somewhat competently and organically. Not to mention she's also very sexy in it. If they want Harley to be popular, literally just make her sexy and maybe do flirty sexy whatever around Poison Ivy who is also a sexy plant lady. But in the end, she literally was designed to be Joker's girlfriend, it's like Joker without Batman otherwise. Interesting as an experiment, but pointless long-term.

my question is if they were going to make this such a blatant movie-tie in game, why the fuck didn't they just release it with the film or better yet release it before the film and play it up because its fucking covid time and people are stuck inside. People are going to reply with "it would release broken or half the content is missing or the gameplay isn't fun" except when it releases that will still all be true but at least they could have Mr.Gunn and friends hyping that shit up. by the time this releases i don't even think WB will be able to afford the conan appearance or other typical AAA video game webshows this crap usually appears on.

It's not exactly a movie tie-in either, since it doesn't follow the movies' plots. It's just a "we have this thing coming so do it because it fits together for marketing" but games, especially big ones like this, have very long development cycles. They were likely expecting Suicide Squad to be a huge success, and ended up pivoting when it wasn't, but it wouldn't make sense financially to cancel the game when it was already so far into development.

At the very least, Jason is ALMOST ready for it, because the guy is actively firing his own guns while getting shot in the head, so props to him. The whole origin story for TBWL is just so god damn stupid and edgy for the sake of it. At least some of the other Dark Knights origins are interesting.
