for all of the public spending these past few years
People are retarded, see the above. Just because you spend money, just because you invest in something, doesn't mean its a good idea.
There's a cognitive dissonance within Canadians (and Californians, and liberals in general) where they think you can fix problems by just throwing money at the problem. That is rarely the case.
Anyone with eyes to see knows how bad the housing situation is along with food and energy prices that are driving quality of life into the ground
Something someone pointed out was that for the current rate of immigration, we would need 170,000+ new houses every year, which is (lol, not happening)
The powers that be will continue to fleece and exploit both "new" Canadians and old while they live lives of unsurpassed luxury
This is the part that just gets to me to be honest. Its why I hate the laptop class, the shit libs, "singapore", or the managerial class. If you've ever read Jurassic park (amazing book) its full of relatable quotes for the situation.
“Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.”
Its the same thing with the managerial class. They're dumb, astoundingly so. With all their fancy degrees, lattes, cafes, etc- theyre dumb. They think they're smart, but they literally cant see the shit on the tip of their toe.
I'll touch on Conestoga college, because its a big scandal in Ontario. Ontario sees that there are going to be employment shortcomings because all the boomers are about to retire?
Thats a problem we can solve! We'll just import 30,000 migrants to fill in the gaps at a single college. 500,000 a year overall throughout the country!
These people seem incapable of seeing the cause and effect thats going to be obvious, how this will affect everyone else in a community, the chaos it is bound to cause. Thats at best, at worst, you also have to add in that these colleges are basically in bed with half the businesses, we have business cartels running the country (or Laurentian oligarchs, take your pick), and these colleges get their own cut with tuition fees.
Brilliant author, seriously
There were signs of decline in the Soviet Union decades
I feel like we're really in this point already, and we have the same type of people in charge, with the same sycophants cheering them on because they think it makes them good citizens. Most of us here have already checked out of patriotism towards the regime. My best hope is that, for Canada at least, the system collapses fast, and relatively cleanly. I think we unironically need a new start.
