Her attitude toward health is that of somebody who is still young, and hasn't yet had her life go off the rails due to a preventable, lifestyle-driven condition. There's a tendency for young adults in general to think of themselves as indestructible, and to leave concerns about health to boring, fun-deficient "old folks," who, they believe, don't know how to truly enjoy themselves. Just don't eat the entire box of mac and cheese yourself. It's not that hard, you don't need a crash diet or hyper aggressive calorie counting. People make weight loss way too complicated, which I think is part of the problem.
