A second American civil war? Are they kidding? Most states in flyover country need the constant welfare pouring in from the cities and the more productive states like NY, California, and Texas. At least the South during the Civil War had the gentleman plantation class that produced educated politicians and military leaders, which is why the Civil War dragged on as long as it did. But you don't have an equivalent to that nowadays; most of the elites in these states want to preserve whatever wealth they have, and handing over that wealth to fund a war against Washington DC is not profitable for them.

Most of hillbilly land can barely fund a war machine, let alone muster enough people willing to fight. Most of them are either Bible-beaters or meth-heads who just want to be left alone. Also, unlike the old civil war, where the South seceded from the North because their livelihood, which was slavery, was attacked by Northern extremists, this time, most of these ''Red'' states need the money from the blue states in order to function, so them seceding is a fucking joke of an idea.

Also, Texas and California are not going to secede. California needs DC's protection since they can barely protect themselves, and Texas has slowly been pozzed over the years; its capital Austin is a bastion of left-leaning thought. The rest of their wealth comes from oil. The conservatives there don't have enough strength to secede.
