I was gonna go to bed, but then I thought "wait let's check Lily's blog, what's the worst that could happen?".
If anyone remembers the comic from 2019 where Lily's val'kyrr character kills Steven, it has made a return.
I know I myself have made artwork of Lily getting arrested after a domestic, but, she's an adult and it was a joke made around her writing herself to be a victim/perpetrator of sexual crimes involving an animal.
I did not draw my oc beating her up for not liking Dark Souls. People don't read that comic as a joke because of how seriously she took that SU review, and how defensive she got over criticisms made towards it.
There's the difference, one of us is in on the joke.

This is really a bad attitude to have about a passion project. It's the product that she should be concerned about, not how well it's doing. Cause she's still making money on patreon. I think when she said "I hope this video reaches more than five people" she was saying "I hope I get more than five new patrons out of this".

the reason why living in subsizided housing is bad its because its a wake up call that youre not doing finantially well
there are several reasons why that might happen and being poor doesnt make you a bad person. the statement "YOU DO NOT EARN ENOUGH MONEY TO AFFORD A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD" is value neutral
this is extra important because lily plans to bring her wife into her home and sustain her. even if this isnt subzided housing, she cant afford to do that

She had to delete something tanking her channel into the dirt. This is just bad timing and will return to her usual middling metrics in a few videos, if she can bothered to do anything after this botch.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Lily treats her loved ones as things.
Canada allows people to stay on a visitors visa for up to six months. If Mikaila wanted she could be there right now, skirting that rule to its edge, going back to the states every six months to save up money at a retail job and do it again the next year. She pays rent to one of her divorced parents, as we know from Mikay's dox so its not as if she's leaving a unit behind in Rochester NY.

It's remarkable that she got this ask right after I brought up the obvious bullshit about what she's doing with the money and Mikaila's application. It's even more remarkable that she was civil in answering this question, as she has had people ask it before she she's told them to STFU how DARE they ask if the money they donated for a specific cause is going to that specific cause.
I had a quick look at the marriage visa again. I'm obviously no expert but it looks like the average processing time is six to twelve months... and you can stay in the country while you are being processed. Even discounting the visitor's visa, there's zero reason Mikaila couldn't be living with Lily while waiting for citizenship.

The most tragic part is that Mikaila has work and a family she actually likes to be around with. She can't actually just up and leave because of that. Liliana could though. She could even work comfortably from Mikaila's place and make videos there.

I don’t think she could. Mikay is living with her parent and brother Alexei in a two bedroom.
The Dewey Ave apartment in Rochester wouldn't be a good fit for our girl to work remotely. Yes she could physically do it, but not without bringing her patreon money with her into that home. She would be a strain on everyone with her constant noises and habits they aren’t accustomed to.
Lily has set things in motion where the only upward momentum is with her alone in the Dartmouth Unit. The computer she sent her wasn’t great but that’s already been burnt through on its last legs, and the wife is struggling to find a new one.
Keeping Lily in the art flow she’s accustomed to must be hard.

Lily can use this as a badge of growth all she wants, but it’s clear why she made this change. It wasn’t that she woke up to the idea, or that she got caught. Lily vs AnimeChristy proves she’ll just dig in her heels in that regard.
It was hbomb, a cis man she perceives as an authority figure showing her in no uncertain terms that if she does what she’s always done in her videos she could be the next James Somerton. It’s not like she wasn’t told years ago to cut that shit off it’s just no one made an hbomberguy video about it.
Embarrassing Lily is the only way to prompt any sort of change.

This year I decided to draw up a christmas card for the thread, based on the cease-fires of WW1. Cept it's way more unrealistic cause it's Lily and Courtney.
We have spent a year watching two siblings at each other's throats, and neither are better for it. They did it this year, they will be doing it next year. It makes me sad that they can't find solidarity having shared an awful upbringing, and instead choose to take it out on each other. They'll probably never reconcile and will remain a broken family for many christmases to come.
But, it also makes me thankful for the things I've got, and honestly I think that is the point of a lolcow. I hope you fellas are happy with what you've got, even the small stuff.
Merry Christmas Kiwis, both present and absent. And Merry Christmas Lily and Mikaila!
(Who knows, maybe they'll turn it around in 2024.)
