State of Israel says Jesus 'was Jewish and born in Judea' in Christmas Day tweet

The State of Israel's official X account shared a video on Christmas Day that refuted a popular trend on TikTok, which purports Jesus of Nazareth to be Palestinian.

The X post published just after 9 a.m. on Dec. 25 included a video with a caption that read, “PSA: just because someone says something on TikTok, doesn’t make it true. #Christmas2023.”

In the 30-second animated video, a brown-haired, red sash-wearing Jesus reacts to a narrator who states, “Jesus was a Palestinian!”

Jesus replies, “Uh, what’s a Palestinian? I was Jewish and born in Judea.”

The narrator then adds, “But people on TikTok say that you were Muslim,” in an apparent reference to videos on the short-form social media platform.

In response, Jesus says, “That doesn’t even make sense. Islam didn’t exist until about 600 years after my time.”

The narrator then asks, “But how can people on TikTok be wrong?” prompting Jesus to give the traditional Yiddish response of “Oy, vey!”

It’s not clear what specifically prompted the video, which was shared on Israel’s official government X account managed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs digital team.

The trend of labeling Jesus as a Palestinian goes back decades and has permeated even into various Christian denominations.

Just this week, a Catholic priest called Jesus a “Palestinian Jew” during a segment on CNN.

When asked to address the “pain and suffering” this Christmas season, Father Edward Beck, a Catholic priest in New York, said, “What I'm so struck by is that the story of Christmas is about a Palestinian Jew. How often do you find those words put together? A Palestinian Jew born into a time when his country was occupied, right?

“They can't find a place for [Jesus’ mother, Mary] to even give birth. They're homeless. They eventually have to flee as refugees into Egypt, no less. I mean, you can't make up the parallels to our current world situation right now."

Earlier this week, CP op-ed contributor Michael Brown said the historical argument for a “Palestinian” Jesus is deliberately misleading.

“How threatening it is to say that Yeshua was a Judean Jew, born in Bethlehem, the ancient city of David, called “rabbi” (not “reverend” or “imam”) by His followers,” wrote Brown.

“This does not mean that Jesus would agree with every policy of Israel today or of every tenet of Judaism. He certainly would not. … But the references to Him as a Palestinian refugee born in occupied territory, not to mention Him being compared to an Islamic jihadist ‘martyr,’ are meant to mislead in the most insidious way.”

Others have argued that because the name “Palestine” wasn’t applied to the land of Israel until at least 135 AD — over a century after Jesus’ death and resurrection — using that descriptor for the Messiah simply isn’t accurate.

“That’s because the word “Palestinian” today speaks of non-Israelites, of non-Jews,” wrote Brown in a 2019 op-ed piece. “It speaks of a people who claim that the land of Israel belongs to them, not to the Jewish people. And it speaks primarily of Muslims.

That’s what comes to mind when someone says, ‘Jesus was a Palestinian.’ And that’s why Palestinian activists have tried to recast Jesus in their own image.”

Earlier this week, evangelist Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, criticized Christianity Today after the magazine his father founded published an article claiming that Jesus Christ was Asian.

In a Dec. 18 article by art curator Victoria Emily Jones titled "How Asian Artists Picture Jesus’ Birth From 1240 to Today," CT showcased how Jesus has been depicted by various Asian cultures, though Jones' assertion that Jesus was Asian because he was technically born on the continent prompted pushback from Graham and others on social media.

"Jesus was born in Asia. He was Asian," Jones wrote in a quote that CT used to promote the article on X on Christmas Eve. "Yet the preponderance of Christian art that shows him at home in Europe has meant that he is embedded deeply in the popular imagination as Western."

Jones wrote that the nine artists showcased in the article "bring [Jesus] back to Asia — but not to ancient Israel," and "make the birth a local event, translating the story into their own cultural contexts."

In his social media post Graham responded: "We don’t have to wonder or speculate about this — the Bible gives us very specific details about Jesus’ earthly lineage and where He was born and grew up. We know that Jesus was Jewish. However, if you don’t believe the Bible or accept it as the Word of God, then everything is in question."

The Jews murdered Jesus because he called them out for being Satanic pedophiles and money changing thieves. Jews claim Jesus is boiling in liquid shit in hell atm, they are such vile hatefull degenerates! I am proud to follow Jesus Christ as it triggers the kikes!

He was also crucified by the kikes by daring to be the king of the j*ws
The roman empire is technically what did him in, not the jews themselves.

Jesus' life story is kinda fucked. The guy shows up talking about respecting others, basic common knowledge stuff, as well as his personal philosphies and shit. Gets a pretty decent following, some people that know him try treating him like some sort of revolutionary leader and then the government and religious officials get so spooked by this they fucking torture and kill him for it. Years after the fact the very government that fucking killed him adopted the stuff he talked about as their state religion and mainstreamed it. If anything it should be viewed as a decent example of how governments and corrupt authority figures can completely fuck you over.

EDIT: I forgot to post this apparently but what the actual fuck is that described clip? I don't remember anyone claiming Jesus was a muslim online? I've seen Muslims occasionally talking about how Muslims partly stem from Jesus' stuff but Mohammed's the "newest" guy in terms of messengers of God so he's the one they choose to follow, but even that isn't even close to the claim going on in that Isreal funded ad.

Poor Jews! They were just minding their own business when the Romans arrested Jesus, pressed charges against him, and then had him executed over theological differences while threatening to riot if a known criminal wasn't released. Oh wait, it was the Jews who did all that after all. Pilate specifically told them the charges were bullshit and that he was doing it as a sop to local sentiment. In doing so he was enforcing Jewish legal codes, at the behest of the Jewish authorities and at the popular demand of the Jewish population of the province. Pilate is guilty of being a coward. By right, he should have released Jesus and massacred the Jews if they rioted over it. But let's not pretend Jesus wasn't essentially killed by the Pharisees over Jewish theological bullshit that Pilate neither understood nor cared about.

19When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. 20But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. 21The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 22Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

24When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Jesus was not of this world, so neither jew nor gentile.

I never understood how Romans killed Jesus but it's still somehow the Jews fault, even if they sold him out the Romans decided to go the full death penalty.
“Let his blood be on us and our descendants” that bit when Pilate, in a cowardly move, literally washes his hands and calls them cunts for threatening to riot. The only guy who doesn’t betray Jesus during the Passion is his mom and a random named Simon.

It’s Jews fucking over not just a Prophet, but the Messiah. You can argue on a lot of things, but that’s consistent with how Jews are portrayed in the Old Testament. Betraying a Prophet or a loyal servant of God to pleasure their own ego or for Earthly pleasure is very in character. It’s like arguing David didn’t kill Uriah because well actually David didn’t physically kill him.

Just a reminder that the oldest talmud dates back to the 4th century and most of the Hebrews who would be cold Jews of Israel converted to Christianity and that Jews to this days entire religion is just denying to Divinity of Christ and nothing else
Also the concept that Jews did not proselytize is a myth created by modern Jewish supremacists mainly Zionist both Islamic and Christian missionaries encounter Jewish missionaries in the 9th and 10th century.

The only reason for the Romans to crucify Jesus was that the Pharisees threatened with a revolt. Herod didn't find Him guilty, Pilate didn't find Him guilty. Herod actually wanted Him to perform a miracle in front of him, I suppose he found Jesus "curious" rather than threatening. They had no reason to kill Him because He never threatened Rome. When He was baited into it, He famously said "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God". I wonder how much the Romans actually cared that the only crime of this Jesus guy was to irritate the priests. Both Herod and Pilate even became friends after this (Luke 23:12).

To stay on topic, it's absurd to say that all current Jews are responsible for killing Jesus. It'd be like saying all current Romans are to blame for how they persecuted the original Christians. That's not a thing, I don't know one single Christian -whatever denomination- that would say something this absurd seriously. But the ones who killed Him back when He was crucified were the Jews priests who hated how He denounced their obvious grift. Current Jews didn't kill Jesus, but they don't accept Him as a Messiah. In fact, they hated Jesus for claiming to be the Messiah they are still waiting. It's very hypocritical of them to try to use Jesus to attract Christians to their cause. If there is something I've learned this year is that most Christians have no idea what Jews think of Jesus.

Waiting on them to admit they're the modern day Pharisees; who demanded Pilate execute Jesus and even free a known murderer. Where the Bible says the future will have people who claim to be the Jewish people, but are evil. I'm not gonna get into the geopolitics of who or what Jesus was, but I'm not gonna take the word of murderers, usurpers, and charlatans either.
He was also crucified by the kikes by daring to be the king of the j*ws
And then the jews demanded Jesus to be killed and were even willing to release Barabbas in order to get their way.
The people who claim to be "Jews" aren't the same people who were around to kill Jesus. They also shouldn't be able to steal a country because they are fans of a fairy tale.
