E621 is now banning access to the site in North Carolina, due to a new state level law regarding pornography passing called the PAVE ( Pornography Age Verification Enforcement ) Act. Pornhub is also forced to do the same. Hilariously compounding it is the additional rule of said verifying information cannot be saved, meaning it has to be re-entered again and again.

I think they want you to upload a picture of your driver's license (or have some other ID verification) every time you try to get on a porn site. It's dumb.
My ideal solution would be a technical measure: Introduce some kind of extremely simple "X-Not-Suitable-For-Minors" HTTP header that can be easily detected and blocked. Most porn sites are already good about indicating that they are over-18 anyway, so you could probably get away with no laws whatsoever. This would require a fairly simple effort between both browser developers and website operators, and would work well for the most part.

Inu-Sama: how "most furries" are part of the problem.
I know this is old news but I think I should bring it up again to reinforce that this "not all furries" sentiment is not only complete and utter bullshit, but that you should actively force any furry you know to denounce known and popular pedophiles and zoophiles to see which of them are part of the problem. This community's unbridled addiction to pornography has made it willing to tolerate anything so long as you have enough sexual capital, which allows predators to thrive out in the open. Every furry who is a popular member of the fandom is a part of the problem, and more than likely is associated with people like this in one way or another.Which is why I bring you Inu-Sama. Formerly The Dogsmith, his entire schtick was drawing his character fucking married women and impregnating them, and hurting other people via sex. By itself it wouldn't be too noteworthy, but when combined with the next thing he's known for this sadistic streak for sexually defiling things becomes far more concerning.

In 2021 The DogSmith (now known as Inu-Sama) was caught by his fans following a cub porn twitter account. Rather than explaining why he was doing this or meaningfully engage with it, he blocked the fan which went over about as well as you'd expect.
After essentially being outed for following accounts posting sexual depictions of children, he complained about people saying that he's "some kind of pedophile". This eventually lead to him confessing in his Muttropolis Discord (which still has 700 members as of writing this) that he "enjoys cub work" on his "private time". He isn't a pedophile guys, he just gets turned on by kids.
After the warranted Twitter backlash for confessing to being sexually attracted to kids (that being "All I will admit to" mind you) he became a transgender and changed his name to Inusama. He then faded into obscurity and his career never recovered, haha just kidding. We're talking about furries here.
@lnusama (with a lowercase L) still retains over 107 thousand followers, is followed by nearly every single furry artist on the platform, still gets clients, and has collaborated with and gotten gift art from multiple furry artists and popufurs. This includes Goonie_V/Goonie-san, commdog, and a lot of other mutual friends with their own scandals.
Every one of those one hundred and seven thousand people follow, support, jerk off to, and promote the work of a self-admitted pedophile. Every. Single. One. Just because he draws fat sluts in a way that makes them horny. This isn't ignorance either mind you, every single popufur and artist he is mutual friends with knows this "secret", every F-List chatroom and discord server he is in knowingly harbors this pedophile. Everyone knows this sexual sadist jerks off to kids, and they just treat him like anyone else and allow him to have a large internet platform in a fandom known to be infested with underage people despite people's best effort to present it as an "adult space".
Even small friends of his know this, and when I realized one of his friends was an acquaintance of mine I wasted no time whatsoever to ask why he was best friends with a self-admitted pedophile. The exchange went about as well as you'd expect.
I censored names for multiple reasons, first being that even if I disagree with someone I clearly don't want anyone harassed (except the nonce) and personal army posts are pretty gay.
Second being I want you to remember that this can be any random furry you meet. Someone calling you "problematic" or an 18+ twitter account retweeting fetish porn. Someone saying "not all furries" when another rape or animal abuse scandal or grooming scandal happens. Literally any ordinary furry you meet has a 50% chance of enabling the same sexual predators they disavow the moment these scumfucks actually get caught doing the inevitable and their massive platform gets public attention.
Hopefully this concludes the ballad of The Dogsmith, though considering he literally hits every box on the groomer bingo card only time will truly tell if that's the case. Call me mad at the internet, retarded, even a hypocrite for still using my coyote character, but this needed to be said and I can't make threads.

Despite the dude's follower count, I'd never heard of him before. So out of curiosity, I polled a few furries (n=4) I talk to that don't keep up with Internet drama. All of them had this fucker blocked on Twitter already. None could remember why they blocked him, though.
Twitter Audit (see attachment) indicates a significant portion of fake or "low quality" followers. Contrast this with Majira Strawberry, who has 110K followers, actual popufur, for a baseline (see second attachment).
That is to say, your preamble rant takes away from an otherwise excellent post about a lulcow that needs milking.
Yes, a lot of furries are bad. Not literally all of us are.

The preamble is to underline the culture of sex-worship that allows so many genuine pests and threats to thrive in the fandom, I never claimed all furries are like this, but that an undeniably huge portion of them are. Even then, he still has 50k-95k followers and your personal poll with a simple size of four doesn't change literally all the immediately observable issues with the broader furry community.
He isn't the only milkable cow in this though, not only will he quietly block you and sulk if you mention that he's a pedophile, but his friends will get dismissive and angry with you if you point it out as well. Keep in mind the popularity and number of his friends as well. It's like the goonclown fiasco, when one degenerate is exposed, entire circles of enablers become apparent like ripples in a pond.

The bar has been lowered to such an extent that following cub porn accounts isn't considered that grievous of an offense, still a small solace can be found in the fact that a majority of people find this content disturbing and would rather not see it (like the post mentions above people do in fact block these people out of their social strata).
I think we're working against the tide though just by how things tend to flow in the fandom, here's what i think is hampering efforts to stamp out these individuals.
1. Decentralized communities, there is no single "furry.com" or list that all prospective furmongers need to sign up for, while i agree that a lot of the more popular individuals tend to be in the know to some degree the vast majority of furniggers just can't be asked to care, i've never heard of this person up till this moment and i'd bet that a lot of the furs i know don't either.
2. Desensitization, this mostly pertains the roleplay environments like you've shown in you little f-list conversation you screencapped, it remains nonetheless disturbing and offputting but the fact there's a not insignificant subset of accounts that engage in "ageplay" as it's sometimes referred to without any real way to act against these people it becomes a kind of "oh that's another child rape account", i'll blame f-list for allowing something like this to persist and giving pedos the space to breathe. (i'd weigh the blame on the site itself since a lot of these accounts don't even like fur content and are straight up lolicon or worse)
3. Short memories, like you mentioned people forget about controversies overtime because few can be asked to spend the mental capacity to remember who did a bad thing among a meriad of people who did a bad thing, and naturally the people doing the bad thing capitalize on this.
You'd have to do something quite exceptionally horrible in order to stick around in people's mind and following a cub artists simply isn't it, sure it's reprehensible and most people will display disgust and dismay when they are confronted with it but in the mind of most it's not quite equal to "this guy raped real life children".
We can see this with growly or whatever that faggot is called and how vocal people are about him whenever he manages to slip into a con with his filthy fursuit.
4. Porn addiction, this community is over saturated with pornography which constantly pushes the envelope and deludes people into thinking what they see is acceptable or god forbid, normal.
I don't have any studies on hand but i think we can all agree that porn is a very negative influence when not coomsoomed in moderation and much like how normal porn addicts degenerate furries do too.
Pushing the envelope ultimately means that these extreme kinks are simply less shocking akin to my second point of desensitization, i do not see any realistic way for this issue to be addressed.
This is just me spitballing and my list is more then likely not accurate or exhaustive but i feel these are some contributing factors that lead people like this to just be around and kicking.
I have a personal label for this sort of creep and i call them "mid level offenders" for categorization sake, where the worst they've done is flog the log to virtual children but otherwise have not (as far as i'm aware) hurt people physically or emotionally, thruth is that that bullying a tranx folx into self harm or just being a sexpest at a con is far more "impactful" for the avarage furnigger then some dude following one of a meriad of cub porn accounts, the bar has lowered too far for that.
If we've got ideas on how to raise said bar i'd love to hear them.
