It started that way for most of us, but he makes it easy to get over.
I legitimately liked Nicks content. Then when we began to realize he was just grifting and he started shifting drastically on what we thought were core positions of his personality... Then the drinking kicked in heavily.

So yeah, fuck him. I don't feel bad for someone who was absolutely lying to me about who they are.
Just glad I never gave him a dollar.

I think he had been using his troon online persona for maybe 10 years before Nick.
Its not just that he was pretending to be a woman for years. He has been pretending to be a very specific real-world woman in a very stalkerish kind of way. He is a gamer who doesn't just invent his own troon persona and name, but adopts the full name of some random girl he met or knew maybe in high school years ago to skinwalk with.
Oh for sure. He is doing what that one politician did with a fanfic of murdering a woman and becoming her. Just hasn't gotten to the murder part yet that we know of.

My question is, is what I just described like a hardcore Eastern Europe only thing?
I'm late to the party, but good god is it not. Catfishes are everywhere and 90% of the time they're jeets in India trying to trick you into giving them gift cards or airplane tickets they can flip. This blight is basically on any free / open social media site. Twitter, instagram, facebook. You name it bots exist for it.

It's literally crazy how Streamers behave. Your life is obviously falling apart and you're not doing so well, you really shouldn’t Broadcast to the public right now, but just NOT going live never seems to cross their minds.
Well, it's their job. At least it is for a lot of them. Look at Boogie. What the fuck is that fat weirdo going to do for a real job? HVAC repair? Chemical engineering? Receptionist at a clinic? No, he would be a greeter at Walmart. Even though being a successful streamer is basically F-tier celebrity, it's still something where you don't have to take orders from a boss and you're still sort of a "somebody" that may get recognized from time to time and have a fanbase. I can very much understand the allure, even if I don't share that desire. You go from that to being a disposable nobody that gets bossed around to clean up the barf on aisle 12?

For Rekieta, specifically, it's like being a one-hit wonder. You grind in obscurity until you have your big break. Then try to pivot your sound and you lose some of your base. You get busted doing some gross and weird shit in your personal life and lose more of your base until you're back into obscurity, looking back at the heyday. You go from arenas to dive bars opening for local bands that everyone is much more interested in. It's understandable why desperation sets in and this becomes hard to let go of. That high from the Rittenhouse streams must have felt damn good. Now he's getting dunked on by a-logs to a smattering of viewers, a decent handful of who are there just to see a dumpster fire. To go from constant praise and acclaim to being a laughingstock has to be rough.

But the reality of a Streamer who's "made it" is still sitting alone in a room and talking to a screen. How long can a brain put up with this treatment before it Breaks?

That’s how I mostly work (I’ve pretty much have worked from home since Covid) and I’ve managed not to drink a bottle of whiskey a day whilst wearing a balldo and watching a herd of black bulls run a train on my wife.

Congratulations, you are an adult with this thing called self-control!

So first he only drinks on the show, to help him ease up during the show, and then he says he loves drinking, just now when not on stream while bad headspace...but he's been much better the past 4 weeks mentally, so he's gonna stop drinking on the show but drink off show instead...

That doesn't make sense. If he had bad headspace 1 month ago, he wouldn't be drinking on stream then, cause he said he hates that. and now that he's had

People assume it's addiction, frankly, it was OFTEN (but not always) depression
The lengths they'll go just to not admit they are in the wrong is hillarious.

One is the result of the other you fucking retard, you pretty much gave cause and effect in that statement alone. Alcohol addiction caused by depression.

No way he'll be able to quit the bottle for 30 days, step one of curing an addiction is acknowledging that you have it and he can't have that.

I can agree, Nick did not get catfished, if anything the dude posing as Mandy paid money to Rekieta. Of course undisclosed sums can have been from Nick to "mandy" character.

Was this a legit catfish attempt? I am not certain, however, what else did the persn want. Real catfishers are more proffesional.

I don't know what he's ever said to MANdy in private, but I'm going to assume it's fucking horrifying (for him)
Given what he said about 'her' publicly, I think it's all but guaranteed he has said things in the privacy of DMs that would make slashfic writers wince. I'd also put good odds on him having sent a lot of ProJared tier media in his drunken stupor. Null only got a shower call, Dan probably got shower facetime.

The only thing that might save his ass is the fact Dan seems to be a genuine fan of Nick, and wasn't catfishing him to fuck up his life, so probably won't leak anything. That's a hell of a sword to have dangling over your head though, so I'm not surprised Nick seems skittish on the topic, especially if things are already rocky with Our Wife.

Nick: Pretend what? I’m not pretending anything? Although, I don’t know exactly what you mean by catfishing? But I guess we will find out, won’t we? Or we won’t? Who knows…?

Nick loves to pull that shyster lawyer bullcrap whenever he gets cornered. “No, incel prude. Mandy. Was not pretending. To be a woman. To trick ME SPECIFICALLY. Ergo. I was not catfished. You dumb niggers. I hope you make. A million dollars.” licks bottle

Fine, Nick. You didn’t get catfished. We’ll need some special new word to describe the act of humiliating your wife by simping for a man pretending to be a woman on the internet.

Any ideas? Balldoing? Lawsplaining?

I wonder if this is about his Rumble negotiations?

Rumble execs: "How much are we paying this cunt? He rarely shows up. When he does show up, he's four sheets to the wind. He's shedding audience like a moulting dog in summertime. I think it's time we reevaluate whether we need to be paying this loser the kind of money we've been paying him."

Rekieta: "Wait! No! I can change! Watch!" Attempts to stop drinking on screen. Reverts to streaming about law, Trump, guns, etc.

Too little, too late.

Didn't @Aydin Paladin cover this in her video about para-social relationships years ago? Like, not only does the audience form a para-social bond and sense of attachment to the streamer/e-celeb, but likewise the streamer/e-celeb forms a para-social bond and sense of attachment with the audience, and that this is ultimately why so many of them wind up sharing things they probably really shouldn't share?

Could be a similar thing with Nick - his remaining audience is like, in his mind, a friend whom he can go to and confide in, completely forgetting that these people are complete strangers.

Surprised Dan took time off from his regularly scheduled Patrick S. Tomlinson trolling to weigh in on this key issue. Take note Kiwis: this is what real investigative journalism looks like.
Dan asking Nick to weigh (not like Fatrick weigh BTW) in on Dan, good one. Maybe he'll be taking a trip to a small town in Central Minnesota soon, it's only a six and a half hour drive from Milwaukee so if he needs something to do after visiting Hoolies...

What is with this redefinition of catfishing. The term was mass spread due to a documentary about people on dating apps pretending to look like someone they didn't. This could be a person using an older picture of themselves or a more flattering picture of themselves. And you're telling me a man pretending to be a woman isn't catfishing? Holy moley, what's wrong with you people?
