General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Nijisanji can't stop losing.
I saw a bunch of stuff about vshoujo possibly getting some new people. So maybe Pomu is one of them.
It's a very safe bet

Advent's NY outfits. I like Nerissa's feather styled one

FUWAMOCO Ch. hololive-EN - 【ADVENT NEW YEAR COLLAB】hatsumode with mode a la Advent 🐾 #AdventNe...jpg
They also released a cover of Babymetal's Megitsune
Kanata's anniversay starts in a few minutes, her lives are always a treat

I understand that corpos can struggle with providing rights to songs/other copyright related issues, but is that the extent of why most projects get aborted or is there something else?
I was about to say Phase Connect would be a real left field choice but might work out for her. As a company they've really come a long way over the last year.
Also gimme a quick rundown of how far they've come over the last year. I know nothing other than the toothless rabbit, the pinoy coommer and the fox girl with an unintelligible accent.

Selen going to another corpo wouldn't make much sense given how Niji has treated her and how little patience she has for the kayfabe separation of concerns, and permissions backflips.

That said, if she goes to Hololive thanks to Mumei, that would be amazing. She'd be more restricted with the perms, but she'd have an actually good management team behind her, and we'd get more Selen singing, which truly is lovely.

Out of all the corpos, if she's gonna go to another one, VSpo makes the most sense. Shibuya HAL actually cares, they're very gaming-focused, plenty of cross-language collab opportunities, which she seems to love, good integration with the Shibuya HAL customs and V-Saikyou. Someone mentioned that VSpo doesn't have much EN presence so it doesn't make sense but... Niji didn't either until Pomu did her thing, and now look at them. If Selen joins VSpo, I have every faith that she will be the Pomu of VSpo. If she joins, three years from now we'll have multiple VSpo EN generations.

What I'm pretty sure of, especially now Pomu's leaving, is that Selen's not much longer for Niji. She's way more active than before on her PL account now, and she got fucked over on the LilyPichu cover.

Sure why not, but any corpo comes with a contract. If they can make such an appealing proposal, not just for gaming tournaments, but for what you will get in your pocket, it would make sense for anyone to join. But the counterargument to joining a corpo is, in my opinion, not the (mis)management but rather, if you have many that know you and will try to find what you will do next and connections from before with many people on things that interest you, why not go indie and keep all the managing of money and the profits to you?

But, even that has a counterargument of its own. As of now, this discussion ends up going on circles. Whatever is to happen, whether she stays or leaves, and if she will join a corpo or not, is all up to Selen. I am certain that a lot will be waiting with great interest on how this will unfold.

VSPO is also one of the biggest VTuber companies in Japan, big enough to be put next to Hololive and Nijisanji. If they want to strike when the iron is hot, this would be an excellent opportunity.

It was Mermaids, which is a UK organization that push for younger people to transition. Also her at the time coworker Silvervale was crying on stream because of Hogwarts Legacy backlash and her response in chat was 'It's okay, everyone makes mistakes.' Guess it is consistent with her beliefs but that was cold. Don't remember if it happened before or after the Mermaids tweet though.
didint she try to ride asmogolds cock after the drama? heard she tried to "fix" him but he dropped his spaghetti and ghosted her.

In 2023 they added to Phase Invaders, Sakana's head hunting trophies of established chuubas from defunct companies, and added the third generation of streamers Phase Euphoria.

Disclosing that I am a Phase phag, I don't think there's a bad one out of the bunch. The only one that is kind of a put off is Remi and that's just because I'm not a fan of the thick babu voice.
They also made a singing group dubbed A/LURE and looking to do more music stuff.
Phase has been doing more cons as well and had what seems like a pretty lucrative sponsorship with a Mahjong gatcha game which has become a bit of the bane of some Phase phags.
Last year also gave us one of my favorite bits of fan content, the billboard.

I think it's important to remember that they came out of nowhere in 2021. If I'm being completely honest I never imagined that they'd come this far especially when you consider the grave yard of other vtuber start ups. Are the big three agencies in danger of a Fishman sweep? No, at least not anytime soon, but I hope to be there when they do. We will meme these sad girls into greatness whether they like it or not.

Sad to see Pomu leaving, but if she's not getting what she wants as far as her needs as a talent, then it's likely for the best. VShojo has been picking up a lot of Niji's strays recently, so who knows, maybe we'll see her over there. Hopefully she'll be able to do more of the shit she wants to if that happens.

I don't think we'll ever see them get as big as Holo, but I do think they've managed to trailblaze a new "medium corpo" market space through sheer force of menhera (and mold).

The thing about NijiEN is they clearly don't care to support it anymore. Do they still get some money and supports for some things here and there? Sure, but it pales in comparison with their own home branch and the other competitors. Hell, even fucking Phase Connect is doing so much more on their class than NijiEN

One of the reasons for the downfall of NijiEN was its fans clearly didn't ask for the management to be more transparent and listening to criticisms. Instead they treat ALL of them as tribalistic internet drama and not as corporate mismanagement

at least in the recent example for Bae it sounds like it's not rights/copyright issues and that it's just straight up a production issue as was implied in the mariokart stream as well as Calli reiterating it in her reply to Bae's tweet. Perms issues with songs are still definitely a hurdle but I think that's just the price you pay being corpo and especially a Japanese corpo (not just in terms of the corpos autism but the fact that their autism is a response to the way copyright and whatnot is handled by other Japanese companies they have to interact with)
its fans clearly didn't ask for the management to be more transparent
Everybody says they want transparency until a Zaion happens

Pomu just released a new cover of Koko Kara, Koko Kara, Ending song from the anime "A place further than the universe" which is a show about a group of girls going to Antarctica.

And the MV is..... the Lazulight girls going to Antarctica IRL. Which is pretty Kino
