Asmongold, xQc, all of OTK, Ludwig, Hasan, amongst other famous streamers, have all been exposed by a journalist named Jacob Wolf of promoting a charity scam by a company called "Softgiving", now known as "Brandfluence" (A)

The TL;DR of the article is that all of these streamers had streams where the promoted various charities run by Softgiving, and said all of the donations made during the stream would be donated to those charities. However, 42% of all the donation money went to Softgiving's wallets, and not to charity.

The only streamer to respond publicly so far has been Asmongold, and he did it in his typical scummy fashion, by acting like a Internet Tough Guy and then saying "who give's a shit" if people got scammed, and then he fucking bans the user who asked about it.

Jacob Wolf then responded to this clip on Xitter after it was sent to him.

The OTK-dick-sucking mods of LSF removed the original thread exposing this, btw.

OP posted what the LSF mods said it was removed for, which doesn't make sense at all

How much money Hasan and company are paying Reddit mods to cover their asses 24/7? Twitch and Reddit has a symbiotic relationship.

I said it once before and I will say it again, recession is fucking over nursing homes, hospitals and small clinics. These Twitch leeches shamelessly rake in money hand over fist and they aren't audited by IRS.

Fuck these subhumans. Calling in IRS on every single one these motherfuckers is only solution.

It's like Betterhelp all over again, except I hate these guys even more than the fags that promoted that one, especially Hasan and Asmondsped. Nothing will happen, but watching influencers suffer and get uncomfortable just gives me life
At least it's not like Candid where the people involved, some willingly, sold us out to the censor bot that ruined everything. This is actually kinda refreshing in that it's just them taking an exorbitant amount of the donations for themselves. It seems like every 3-4 years some big scam comes along and finds enough greedy and/or stupid streamers/content creators to shill for the product. Maybe this is just how the great digital circle of life goes.

Wow so first TheCompletionist and now these guys.

I hope this is the beginning of the end of these obnoxious charity streams. Keffals streams woke me up to how much of a load of crap these types of streams are. I wonder how many other YouTubers and Twitch streamers are currently crapping their pants right now wondering if they are next to be exposed?

All charities are grifting scams, yes that includes the ones you're about to tell me are super duper legit and amazing.
This, if you aren't even going to give money or help irl, you are just asking to get scammed. Why should my money go through an organization and than go the people that need it? Charities should be more personal, not this shit.

If you listen closely, you can hear a stampede of Twitter users rushing to their keyboards, hell-bent on explaining to you why Twitch streamers and big Youtubers are amazing people...
Decided to quantify this and had a look at the last 25 tweets when searching for "OTK" and "Asmongold" each (as he was the one who responded).

OTK was a wash, as it brought up nothing but Japanese content which pertained to some idol group of the AKB48 sort.

I did better with "Asmongold". This archive's top message is where I started counting backwards. Repeats were not counted.

Of 25 tweets:

4 (16%) were neutral (comparative channel stats, etc.)

6 (24%) were positive (one of these was almost incomprehensible, but the moron was pro-Asmongold)

10 (40%) were off-topic. Of these,
5 (20% total) were general irrelevance which had nothing to do with Asmongold. One of them was, again, incomprehensible.
And
5 (20% total) were weebs hating on some other weeb who'd whined that she had been criticised by AssMongoloid. I didn't count these among the positives as they were all vitriol aimed directly at her with the streamer being at best tagged. One could say that these posts were Hot Topic rather than Off Topic.

1 (4%) was in Japanese. This may or may not have been adjacent to the weebshit.

4 (16%) were negative, of which 1 criticised OTK as a whole.

Conclusions:
- The sample was tainted by the weeaboo slapfight (a very convenient thing for AssMongoloid to have inserted himself into, I must add).
- There does not seem to be a large preponderance of simps making propaganda at the moment.
- It might be worth checking back once the weebs have crawled back to watch JoJo, Ranma 1/2 or whatever the hell their big thing is these days.
-Asmongold's "community" on Twitter is one of the worst groups of imbeciles online.
Someone else can do this next time.

PS: @Gronk_Destroyer of Homos , don't fall for my blatant bait, lol.

I know it’s easy to say “if you donate to these losers then you deserve what you get”

But I feel like this is dismissing how predatory these streamers are on children. And not in the sex pervy kind of way.

I don’t really like that narrative even though I understand it. A lot of these people donating to charities and shit and then getting scammed are kids with their first paychecks. It’s 17 year olds working at target. And shit like that.

It really is disgusting how these streamers foster parasocial relationships with kids working their summer jobs. And then convincing those kids they can be good people and donate a few dollars to a charity. Only to find out it was a scam. It’s really black pilling if im honest watching these doods take advantage of the good nature of barely aged adults/children and pluck their hear strings for cash.

Ironic seeing his reaction to the completionist charity drama

i never understood donating money to people that make more money than you, but a minimum wage worker donating money to the >1% is actually crazy.

Not surprised seeing the neckbeard involved in this shit and with such a shitty response. Assmadgold does not know about optics and the fact streamers around his size will use this purposefully to remove him. They need to remember what happened to Logan during cryto zoo, if he did not have the sports stuff it would have wrecked him.

Never donate to a middleman (i.e. a streamer). Donate to the charity you care about instead. The only purpose of a middleman is to skim a little cream, not to do anything beneficial. Having said that...

Is it really a scam if it’s pretty much how all charities operate? If that’s a scam, then pretty much all charities are scams.
You're so close to having an epiphany.

His take that Twitch whores should be allowed on the platform is far more of a problem, though last I remember he pointed out that Twitch is beating around the bush (no pun intended) with their rules to supposedly address the problem, and should instead be going after the core issue, such as the fact that they're allowed to shill their OnlyFans and such on Twitch. He tends to be fairly nuanced compared to most on majority of topics.
Only streamer I was willing to pay even the slightest bit of attention to, because he seemed genuine, despite there being nothing admirable about his lifestyle.
he also made the libertarian argument for allowing them, because trends can only hurt people or have a negative effect if the person is doing violence like punching someone or saying the nigger word. never mind that kids use twitch and girls are trying to lure them into parasocial sexual relationships, never mind that you can call something unhealthy even if it only involves consenting adults and you can have an opinion on whether something is good or not even if you think it should be allowed by a set of rules for arbitrating amongst groups that disagree with each other.

From what I remember, his take was that it's inevitable that they would win, because Google is a massive corporations and people are generally conformists who would rather give up than jump through many hoops to block ads. Not that he likes ads or wants adblocks gone. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. It's an opinion that makes sense at least, even if it's pessimistic.
maybe his crowd, maybe his fans and twitch users in general. i and everyone who uses adblockers will not be doing that though. the moment i cant block ads on youtube is the day youtube goes in the trash like i did with cable. its becoming the same corporate sanitized forced diversity bullshit for pedophilic no talents hack anyway, or people who waste their talent making shit content.

edit i didnt say twitch because twitch is already in the trash can as it has absolutely no content.

That's a great point. Being 13 years old and finding someone who's "famous" online who will acknowledge you and talk to you in exchange for bits is pretty despicable. That's for an average 13 year old too, once you add in factors like mental deficiencies then it's horribly exploitative. Many of them would have already been exposed to those creators as iPad kids on Youtube Kids and other shit.

Imagine you grew up with Steve from Blue's Clues or Dora and Boots from Dora the Explorer. You build a connection with them before you can read or write. One day, you find out that you can become """friends""" with them! They'll even say your name and have full conversations with you through the TV screen while all the other children watch. All you have to do is pay up. The more you pay, the better a friend you'll have in Steve or Dora. It's making my skin crawl thinking about it.

the real question is whether streamers got paid upfront by charities or structured an arrangement where a portion of the donations would make its way back into their own pockets.

from their FAQ.

...so to go on and say that 100% of the donations will go to charity when in reality 42% of said received donations will knowingly be redistributed across content creators to pay them for their services (as if you need the fucking money) is course a tad bit retarded, you're doing a charity drive for fuck's sake, just donate all of it and if you require a commission for your charity stream then you should eat hot shit.
So will they face any legal consequences? Can they just pull the retard card and say they didn't know?

Asmongold stuck in autopilot "single out a viewer and shit on them without actually addressing what they said" mode for a while now. Every time I glimpse at his stream lately, he's shitting on and banning someone (usually when they start gaining traction with the point they are making) that dared to say he was wrong on something. It's just really nasty to see. Absolute ego trip and power imbalance.

I used to work at United Way in Austin, TX in a capacity that allowed me to see the salaries of all employees, the fucking CFO made $120,000 a year, charities are indeed exposed to easily duping saps into "doing good".
