Judging by the transcripts and the leaked summery of episode 3, I fully believe this.I'm not even sure Viv herself cares about Hazbin or its story anymore, it feels more like she's milking the pilot's popularity to get famous off of shitty gay demon sex while completely phoning in pretty much every aspect of the actual show.
Unironically, this show seems to have some of the worst pacing I've ever seen. Episode 2 has the task of not only needing to follow up on episode one, but introduce not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 major characters in Vox, Velvette, Valentino, and Pentious, sure the Vs are a bit of a package deal, but keep in mind these are 22 minute episodes, Hazbin's pilot was longer than that and so are a good amount of HB episodes.
Hell, I'll do a patchwork fix. The only scene Pentious would really be in for a redone Episode 2 is his introduction where he gets his ass kicked by Alastor, this frees up about 5 minutes of time give or take, you use this extra time to focus on the Vs to make them a bit more menacing and the immediate reaction of "Oh shit Extermination day is coming 6 months early!" so there's more tension with that, might not seem like a long time, but it's amazing what a competent director and editor can do with just five more minutes. Then the episode ends with the scene of Vox talking about how he'll place a spy in the Hotel and with a new last second reveal that it's Pentious, so now you got the hook for the next episode.
There, you only really focused on the Vs, introduced Pentious but not properly yet, and kept the main plotline of Heaven moving up their purge chugging along. Sure, it isn't perfect, it could definitely lead to some issues with episode 3, but Viv's the one making a serialized show that's faster paced than your average Saturday morning cartoon.
