I thought Trump was a dictator.Trump considered using the Insurrection Act to a large degree but was talked out of it by three officials in his administration who greatly opposed the idea apparently. These individuals were the Secretary of Defense (Esper), the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Milley) and the Attorney General (Barr) .
He should be.I thought Trump was a dictator.
Trump has always been willing to listen to advisors behind closed doors. In public, you back him 100%, no division. In private he will listen and weigh, often calling in other advisors to get overlapping feedback.I thought Trump was a dictator.
War is a far easier thing to espouse when it has no chance of touching you.Maybe I'm a big softie for being broadly in favor of American unity (it's why I dislike D/R partisan retardation so much) but oversimplifying the Civil War as good guy abolitionists vs evil racist fucks who deserve total destruction undermines the war's significance. There were plenty of documented instances where American families ended up fighting each other on opposite sides, that's a big part of the fucking tragedy of it. There's a valuable lesson in there somewhere about thinking real hard about whether it's really worth it to destroy your family over political autism, and perhaps a general sentiment about the gravity of war in general, but neither of those are popular takes in current year it seems.
I was joking about them shitting on the third amendment.
"Well ackshually that amendment is about forced storage of troops. It doesn't say anything about asking you to house brown people!"Perhaps the Third Amendment didn't go far enough.
What happens to that 90% of people that are told they can no longer work? The gone can't cover even a third of them. It's possible to automate 90% of work easily enough, but the last 10% you will always need an expert at the wheel. Companies will try to automate - but in doing so will realize they need to fire all of their low cost workers and replace them with high skilled ones.
He sucks at being a dictator. I'm very disappointed.Trump has always been willing to listen to advisors behind closed doors. In public, you back him 100%, no division. In private he will listen and weigh, often calling in other advisors to get overlapping feedback.
I thought he would put all the trannies and faggots in camps . Greatly disappointed . Sad !I thought Trump was a dictator.
Mostly peaceful protest for our Islamic brothers. Local news at best.
As someone who used to be good at tech but now can't do basic functions in the latest outlook, the tech is to blame 80% of the time.people these days, especially when it comes to technology, are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY fucking stupid.
You have to break down that 90% first. What happens to that 90% of people that are told they can no longer work? The gone can't cover even a third of them.
So, does Google Sheets works better or it's the same, but at least you don't have to pay for the license? As someone who used to be good at tech but now can't do basic functions in the latest outlook, the tech is to blame 80% of the time.
It changes, updates and moves things to be 'simpler', while making once simple shit fucking impossible. Ctrl+C on a document and Ctrl+V into an email? Not anymore nigger, you have to jump through cloud hoops because fuck you, own nothing, be happy.
I had a 3 year gap between desk jobs and simple shit like outlook and excel has all changed. Excel is now some cloud version with limited functions? Da fuq.
Sorry for the OT
Google what? So, does Google Sheets works better or it's the same, but at least you don't have to pay for the license?
You can't tell ninety percent of people working that they no longer have a job without a country burning. You have to break down that 90% first.
Part of it is illegal aliens or unskilled immigrants who should just go home
Part of it is women (or men) who should get married and focus on being a stay-at-home parent
Part of it is people who can up their skills to a still useful career path
Part of it is people who should be doing work that was outsourced and should be brought back
And? Let it burn. Once the ashes cool there will be jobs for everyone left. You can't tell ninety percent of people working that they no longer have a job without a country burning.
Solutions for this such problem I have read about is offering some kind of universal basic income (UBI) but realistically speaking maybe that would create a new digital serfdom where the people who have all the power would be the ones who oversee and control the automated systems accompanied by those who know how to code, program or repair them. Everyone else would be in some kind of underclass dependent on the government and those in power. You can't tell ninety percent of people working that they no longer have a job without a country burning.
I don't see the current political system offering anything like UBI ever since that's money that could otherwise be theirs. Yes. They are that shortsighted. Never forget that the Wuflu checks never would have happened without Trump.Solutions for this such problem I have read about is offering some kind of universal basic income (UBI) but realistically speaking maybe that would create a new digital serfdom where the people who have all the power would be the ones who oversee and control the automated systems accompanied by those who know how to code, program or repair them. Another idea could be the government incentivizing companies to create jobs that are specifically for humans and them only but would be ultimately useless positions in reality for the most part. It would be a similar situation to the observation some have made about the current job market but on steroids. I'd say this is perhaps more realistic then the other idea since in this scenario the government and the country itself wouldn't have to directly foot the bill entirely.
Since we're throwing out pipedreams like UBI here, consider instead: Extreme luddic protectionism.Another idea could be the government incentivizing companies to create jobs that are specifically for humans and them only but would be ultimately useless positions in reality for the most part.
Nah let's just Butlerian Jihad it'll be more funSince we're throwing out pipedreams like UBI here, consider instead: Extreme luddic protectionism.
Massive taxes and tariffs on mass produced home-goods e.g. clothes, furniture, or any knick-knack you would find on Etsy, and subsidize cottage industry level seamstresses, furniture builders, etc. If people are to have a bullshit job, let it be some hipster bullshit that at least keeps them busy instead of bugman desk bullshit.
Billions must sew.
It would be easier to ban or restrict the transport of goods over long distances. Probably by forcing transport companies to switch to electric trucks then not provide enough power to run them. Then everything has to be made locally with resources on hand.Since we're throwing out pipedreams like UBI here, consider instead: Extreme luddic protectionism.
