My guess about the event is that Pat was only a host in name. He was chimping about the Houston event being cancelled and to appease him they listed him as a host. In practice he was just another hanger-on and awkward drunk as usual.
As to why he has no photos, there are a lot of possibilities. But the funniest one is that nobody wanted to be pictured with him, rejected his requests for selfies, and left him without any self-inserts for Twitter (AKA his entire reason for flying to LA).
TL;DR — Pat was there to LARP as somebody who matters. The people who actually do matter wanted nothing to do with him and definitely didn’t want to be associated with the fat rube in any pictures.

Reposting a response I made on the other forum regarding the hosting gig, to maybe clear up how he even ended up there:
I looked into it, and it turns out he was friends with at least two of the 100YSS judges: Jaym Gates and J. Daniel Batt. He still couldn't make it out of the nomination pool of an award show for a very, very niche subject.
He had been friends with Jaym Gates for at least 4 years by that point. They were convention buddies, apparently.

There's no telling if he went to college on a campus, or did distance learning from his parents' house, or anything. He obfuscates the truth at every opportunity. He finally admitted he only went to college for 4 semesters. He probably did better "in college" because he took his classes from home and could just google everything. He showed from his repurposed Hitchhiker's Guide fanfic that he's a capable plagiarism-skirter. They met in 2011. He might have been enrolled in an online class at age 31 when he met Niki, making them "college sweethearts" in his mind. *points at temple*
Like I pointed out in the OP, he always waits until years after something happens and then subtly omits details and spins others. I'm sure he made damn sure there was no full recording of that award show before he start running his fat yap about it.

I doubt he is actually talking about Niki. He probably did just stalk some chick and routinely creeped her out by telling her about this Farscape character.
Whether it was when he was at college or just when he was of college age is where technicality Thompson comes in.
Or he found a college bar open to the public, and this alleged Aeryn lookalike was a bartender there.
Also, admitting something like that to an adult woman is a peculiar creepy thing to do.
