From how I understand it, EVS has essentially decided he’s the “King” of Comicgate, so any successful indie comic has to go through him and get his approval. If someone is successful without his input it doesn’t kiss his ass when he says something, EVS essentially throws a bitch for and tries to take them down in ridiculous ways.

So yes, bloviating jackass is accurate. He sees himself as the authority on indie comics, and how dare you be successful without him.

First time post, which I know makes me sus. Oh well, we all gotta start somewhere.

Like several here I grew up in the golden age of Geocities and Alta Vista, i.e. the pre-Google era. I therefore remember when Maddox was fresh and relevant and I was always excited to see a new post. So when I first heard about TBPITU I immediately subbed and looked forward to each episode, especially as it only seemed to improve as the community started to form and contribute bits.

While I originally came for Maddox I found myself really digging Dick's sardonic wit and the way he played off Maddox. I definitely loved the Titanic bit and the way Maddox would sperg out as Dax played parts of the movie when he 'won', or when he played the MaddoxLost song ("DIIIICK IS THE WIIIIINER!"). I assumed it was mostly for show though, but I guess Maddox was actually mad behind the scenes and killed the bit, which made him come off like a massive sandy vagina. I hate sandy vaginas.

So as time went on, and then after the infamous 'cuck' episode when it was obvious the two were not getting along, I found myself siding with Dick. When he left and started his own show I immediately subscribed to his Patreon. I admit, I definitely enjoyed the hot goss like an ugly, unsexed yenta and completely bought into Dax's one-sided view of the situation. Then the LOLsuit.... well again, I hate sandy vaginas and Maddox definitely was hitting peak sperg with his alcoholic lawyer in that whole debacle. It would have been better if he had hired Charlie Day to argue his bird law theories.

However as time went on the cracks started to form, so I stopped my Patreon (also because I couldn't support a platform that censored certain voices due to arbitrary woke policies). I also couldn't stomach a lot of his statements against military personnel (say what you want about the military and the government but disparaging individuals serving their country is not something I can support), as well as his tacit support for loli, pedos, and other extreme personalities. I didn't try to get him canceled, I just stopped listening.

At the time this didn't change my opinion of Maddox as a sandy vagina, I just found myself not enjoying Dax's humor anymore and started noticing inconsistencies in his stories. The fact that virtually every guest and news babe on the show always seemed to disappear seemed telling. It seemed that nobody besides Szechuan (who is paid well to be there) seems to want to stick around. Individually, such as with Asterios, an argument can be made. But you cannot deny the obvious pattern. Dick is an asshole at best, and a sociopath with low moral standards at worst.

Then Maddox came out with his video last month. I wasn't sure I could stomach a three hour video from a sandy vagina, but I was bored and had to break in a new LoveSac so I turned it on. I have to say, it was not only entertaining, but also kinda compelling. Sure... at several points he does come off as kind of pedantic. But many of his points, with apparent receipts no less, were enough to make me rethink the whole situation. Particularly the ones that involve financial hijinks and doxing. I don't think anyone is surprised that Dax is a lazy fuck, but much of what Maddox presented shows he was not just an unreliable partner, but also a backstabbing asshole who fucks over everyone in his life, even Marie aka 80s Girl. Meanwhile, while Dax was presenting 80s Girl as a virtuous girlfriend he was so committed to while George was pining away for her, we then find out that she actually pined for him while allowing Dax to fuck other chicks while she slept in a truck as her eggs dry up. I am so glad she is helping to shape the minds of our future generations!

So I guess I have to say that while I still think Maddox is a bit of a sandy vagina, it seems like Dax actively threw fistfuls of sand to make him that way, and that Maddox's earlier silence was at least partly him trying not to feed the trolls and move on with his life. Meanwhile Dax hides his response behind a paywall. What a fucking grifter...

But hey, at least we have over a thousand pages of entertainment to go through here in between marathon duck feeding sessions watching conveniently nude stuck step-sisters kneeling in a prone position.
