It's all gone by too quickly but if you go back in this thread before Christmas, Sam and Yaba got very angry that Zeith, a former Ron friend turned enemy, sought out to do an interview with Belinda. Sam had asked him several times to appear on her show but he went to Belinda and asked to be on her show. There is speculation that he did this because he learned Sam had been very unkind regarding Negz' sons Mason and Silas (she routinely denies Ron's paternity of the former and called the latter "fat" and similar insults).
Sam and Yaba said that they hated Belinda well before the Zeith fiasco, and their decision to unleash about the fundraiser was not payback for losing the interview. Evidently Belinda could not figure out how to turn off the super chat option in her streams and said any money sent via super chat for Sam and Yaba would go to them when she got paid for it. Belinda routinely said in both fundraiser streams that people should not send super chats to her, but that they should send super thanks to Yaba on old streams, buy their merch, and watch old streams to keep Yaba in the algorithm while she took time off from work. Her mods spammed the chat with the same information. She also said that super chats took out so much money that donating directly to Sam and Yaba through pay apps was a better option.
Belinda got some super chats that were specifically labeled for her, but did evidently take in around $100 in super chats for Sam and Yaba. This all happened when Belinda was working long hours and her husband was hospitalized for liver failure, then sent to physical rehab. Her daughter had also just had a baby. She overlooked the the $100, which after fees and taxes was really $35. It had been only a couple of weeks since she received the money for that stream, but Sam and Yaba were assmad about it.
They both claimed they never liked Belinda, and they were angry she took it on herself to host the fundraisers without telling them. Evidently they were both too meek to tell her not to do it a second time and it was a burden to be forced to deal with all that merch when they were grieving. And maybe it was presumptuous of Belinda to do that. I don't know.
But the real shit was that Sam and Yaba characterized it as Belinda taking in tons of super chats that she then refused to give over, that she fundraised in their names and then stiffed them off all the money. There are people now who still believe that Belinda ran two phony fundraisers with the intent to scam off children who lost their father, and doubled down on the story when they received pushback.
They knew Belinda's heart was in the right place and that she was experiencing her own chaos when she tried to help but they jadedly and deliberately set out to defame her as a scammer who took money intended for grieving children.
