One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

Well at least that one punch was VERY satisfying

But what does Saturn mean with this?

So I think it has to be:

1. Robin, who's doing the work of Ohara and researching things like poneglyphs and the Void Century.

2. Kuma the Bucaneer (last of his kind? Probably)

3. Luffy has the Nika Gear 5 powers, and I guess he has the means to use it at will now.

And now they all have to die.

I don't want to be a political sperg in this thread and I don't want to risk gettin g banned aas I want to be able to t6alk about One Piece here and share my opwn takes so this is the last time I will go political here, I promise.
The only political thing I want to say is what is it to you guys that make One Piece's take on things like race and racism different to your typical liberal hollywood show or movie? If Odas met with The Simpsons or Family Guy writers for example, they'd be best friends agreeing on most things.
Because it stays relevant to the world its in rather than it being a shoehorned "this is a convoluted metaphor about US slavery and racism".

Yes, Kuma's dad was the last fullblooded one (IIRC, this gets mentioned in the chapter that Kuma and his parents end up as slaves). Kuma is a half-blood technically but he's the last one with those genetics

I think the first one is supposed to be Vegapunk himself. I don't know if Ohara would be considered traitors like Vegapunk would since he was directly working for the world government.

Because Oda does it sensibly, and isn't just "WHUTE MAN BAD."

Look at Arlong and Hordi Jones.

Arlong is basically the biggest Racist in the series and while he is given a contextual reason to hate Humans..at no point does anyone say that Arlong's actions were justified because of Humanities Racism against him. Hordi Jones had a scene where he outright admitted that for his whining about being "Oppressed" by Humans, he had never actually experienced it personally.

or Kiku, the actual Trans character in the series, She isn't treated like the center of her universe, and there is more to the character than being Trans.

Shit the overarching Myth Arc has become incredibly timely in the past couple of years because it is about a Totalitarian Government Deciding what people are Allowed to know and actively attacking anyone who doesn't fall in line with censorship.

I don't think I would call Oda political at all really, I just think he is a Normie who has Normie takes like "Totalitarianism is Bad, Racism is Bad, Slavery is bad, Censorship is Bad". Remember most of the "Woke" people in the world are complete Retards who have no actual idea what their Ideology actually means.

Also, the One Piece world isn’t Earth. And Japan is probably more chill with certain things than Americans are. Just pray that the live action doesn’t go all in on culture war shit.

Meh chapter. I'm not as invested in hating Saturn as most people seem to be, since he's mostly just been an exposition machine and Vegapunk keeps finding ways to undermine his power like "Hey can you wait for like a decade before we take away Kuma's personality?" and "Hey I'm refusing to put a self-destruct button on Kuma, I'm just giving him an off switch instead". And Oda resorting to regen for the Gorosei is a big letdown since it undermines any damage they take, including Kuma's big punch here, and it would've just been more interesting to see Saturn retain his injuries and still remain a threat. Also, nothing else happens in this chapter except for "Fighting Saturn" and maybe "happy reunion for Kuma and Bonney". I'm glad Kizaru's still a villain at least.

Would he really be that much if threat if Franky, Kuma, and Sanji were able to seriously injur him fairly easily? I think this just setup for them basically being immortal, and the crew is going to have to find a way to actually hurt them.

They’re going to throw the Jew down the well. Or maybe force him to eat a Devil Fruit so we can see what happens when someone eats two, I feel like the Bonnie being an experiment was a Chekhov’s gun.

I honestly don't believe Saturn ate a Devil Fruit at all. I'll admit it's still too early to tell, but that magic circle summoning shit is just way too creepy to be anything related to a Devil Fruit.
He has the awakening thing around him like Lucci. He’s a Devil Fruit user.

I honestly just want a defeat in the series that’s as simple as someone putting an opponent in Seastone cuffs and pushing them into the sea, drowning them in an inch of seawater, or we finally get to see the result of two Devil Fruits being eaten. Supposedly they explode and the Devils briefly appear.

He ate a literal Devil Fruit and is an Ushi-Oni, I've actually spent my break at work double checking some websites to see if Ushi-Oni's have regeneration inherently..or if this could be Ope-Ope Fruit Immortality regeneration. After all if you are Imu and have an Immortality Treatment that can be used more than once..why not use it on your best Minions.

I feel like Oda’s logic is by this point, even with the superstitions surrounding fruits, trying to eat a second is so well known that it’s no longer attempted. Devil fruits are rare enough that even trying would be massively difficult.

I wanna say that it became an established thing with awakened Zoans being super durable and able to heal quickly during Impel Down with the Jailer Beasts. Though I wouldn’t be shocked if there was more to it than just Devil Fruit shenanigans
