Here’s an question for Bond fan Kiwis,

What was wrong with George Lazenby’s performance of Bond? I really didn’t notice much.

The claim was that he's acting was wooden. And I suppose it was in some parts. The dubbed voice over in Blofeld lair didn't help either. Deliver of one liners especially was either a hit or a miss. But Dalton who is one of the best actors out there. Had a problem with them also.

On the other hand Lazenby did showcase ability to act. The escape scene in the town and especially the ice rink. he was on point portraying a man who was cornered, desperate and scared. The reaction of seeing Tracy there was also well acted.

Hell, every scene with him and riggs where good. The ending is another good scene of acting by Lazenby.

He was also the only Bond that i could believe been in quite a few brawls.

As an outsider to the franchise who watched Octopussy one day and Quantum of Solace the next, it came off like "modern" Bond was trying to nail a Batman vibe too much. If I ever binge the JB films I won't watch past the first Craig one.

Most Bond movies are utter shit. I'd recommend Casino Royal, From Russia with love and OHMSS. And I kind a like Doctor No(very pulp euro comics feel to it.). Golden eye is also watchable.

I’m just shocked that the filmmakers didn’t get Nolan for the Bond films. Especially after Skyfall.

Also I felt Spectre was just bad.

Craig's Casino Royale was excellent. I was very, very impressed with it.
The other films were ok. I did enjoy Skyfall.

fucking adore the over the top, downright stupid, nature of moore's films
This
Roger Moore is my favorite of the Bonds, I love the goofy over-the-top nature of the films and I feel like this is Bond at its peak. Not to say the others are bad, but I just think prefer the nature of thsee films. Man with the Golden Gun, Live and Let Die and Moonraker are among some of my favorites.
Also this.

Roger Moore was by far my favourite Bond.
He was to that character, what Adam West was to Batman. Memorable, fun and funny, and as an actor, genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to play the role.

Which was the better Bond game?
Nightfire?

Or

Everything or Nothing?
Both are great but I remember Everything or Nothing getting really fucked with the difficulty spikes near the end of the game
meanwhile the only level in nightfire I remember being bullshit was the underwater one, so I go with Nightfire
also Everything Or Nothing should of been a film, it would of been perfect

If they ever adapt any of John Gardner’s Bond books, which one would be good?

Ah man I like me a Bond movie but I can't stomach the goofy Moore shit. I like all the other Bonds (haven't given OHMSS a proper watch but I feel like I have to now after reading this thread) to varying degrees, grew up with Brosnan who is pure class and got put into subpar stories; Craig has Casino Royale and Skyfall which are both decent, the rest is trash; I like Dalton and have no complaints about him; and Connery has the really strong Goldfinger and Dr No.

Overall Goldeneye is probably my favorite Bond movie of all.

OHMSS is very very solid. 10/10 watch. That’s why watching Diamonds are Forever is weird. They peaked with OHMSS and Diamonds tried to act like “Business as usual” for Bond.

My favourites overall are OHMSS, Goldeneye, License to Kill, Thunderball and Live and Let Die. Thunderball's opening always makes me laugh; Bond punching out a man dressed as a woman before jetpacking away, I was cackling when I recently watched it.

I liked the Craig films but he's probably my least favourite, I sort of like the more light hearted bonds. I'd never say there's any actors though that didn't fit the role, I think they all did a good job in their own right.

Diamonds always felt more like on of the Moore bond films. Except without Moore.

That’s why it feels so weird. It’s like they took a sharp left turn with Diamonds.

But I do chuckle at some of the more absurd moments in Diamonds. One of my favorite moments being when Blofeld was in drag, climbing up the Whyte House, or even the final moments of the film.

Yep.

Add Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd scenes. Really something you'd expect to see in a Moore movies.

I don't care what anyone says but these are the five best James Bond films.

On her majestys secret service is the best Bond Film as a serious film. (Dianna rigg and telly savlalas make the film.)

For your eyes only - It is the number 1 best Roger Moore Bond film. Even better than the spy who loved me or moonraker which jumped the shark proverbially speaking.

The man with the Golden gun - it is just fun 007 camp and that's what makes it a great movie.

Octopussy is my personal favorite - sure it's weaker than others but honestly it has aged like a fine wine and maude Adams role was wonderful.

Lastly the most criminally underrated of all the James bonds Timothy Dalton's License to kill is truly the best Bond of the books. A charming killer who isn't afraid to go dirty. Honestly when Bond is at his dirtiest and most ruthless he is at his best. Sperg and give me the hats but Timothy Dalton needed a third bond film.
