Burzum wasn't even controversial until like ten years ago, and even now with all the controversy Filosofem is still the most famous and acclaimed black metal album outside of the metal community.

Burzums album art has explicitly been an influence on the art of Kanye's upcoming (maybe) Vultures project, his appreciation of Burzums is old news to anyone who actually cares.
