How do you remove burnt marks from a terra cotta rice cooker pot?

All of the burnt food has been cleaned out, leaving a couple black marks that aren't removed even after soaking in hot soapy water and scrubbing hard. How to remove those?

I would say a magic eraser but those things will remove the upper layer of whatever they are used on. You have to be careful with them. The only other option I can think of is you can't remove them. Buy a new rice cooker and don't burn stuff up in it.

If it's a proper layer of burned fat that won't go away with soaking in very hot soapy water (cold soaking with soap does very little comparatively) or baking soda and vinegar, or scrubbing with salt, baking soda and water (just enough to make a paste), I'd use steel wool and slowly try to wear it away. If that doesn't remove it, it might just be permanent discoloration, but if you reseason it shouldn't matter.

Get some oven cleaner spray from Walmart, I bought the heavy-duty spray, beware that it can discolor aluminum and other metals.

You can also try Zep Fast 505 if you don't want the fumes of oven cleaner in your kitchen. It's my go-to for cleaning my air fryer and the interior oven glass. I second the use of a melamine sponge (magic erase) - use gloves though, that sponge is a micro-sandpaper and will kill your fingertips before you know it!
