This is the problem that comes from people self diagnosing. Being "autistic" because you like non-mainstream hobbies and you don't like being in giant crowds is completely different to being autistic and having videos of you in a Nintendo onesie rocking back and forth shouting at a Nintendo Direct. I think this doesn't happen with the other conditions you mentioned because they essentially boil down to extreme emotional states, something that people can understand at a base level, if not to an accurate level. I couldn't possibly understand what it'd be like to be autistic or have my brain work completely differently.

A problem for Emile I can see is even if he just moves on from all this and tries posting his videos as normal, he always gets the help from friends, other people, artists, etc, to do more in depth research, have good visuals or dig up obscure stuff to make his Lets plays as comprehensive and well made as he can manage. Part of his appeal is the work he puts into his videos but after all this there's that possibility that people avoid associating with him anymore and I'm not saying this will cause things to be lower quality but its clear he likes working with others to do stuff like this and its sucks that there's the possibility those opportunities will be taken from him.

At least with Emile's let's plays, you could say he was passionate about the games he played. You could even learn new stuff about them through his videos.

Unfortunately, it's joever for Chugga. His network has left him behind, and anyone caught associating with him risks becoming the next target of cancellation, which for many of these people means their entire livelihoods and careers. Peer pressure is too strong; the ship's sinking and nobody wants to drown in it. I can't imagine he will be seen at cons or panels anymore due to the risk of tainting the organizers' reputation, at least not for a long while. He may keep making videos in his corner of the Internet, but it's all downhill from here for him. I hope he doesn't retire completely, but I can't say this is how I envisioned his end to come. I didn't even watch his content much even at the height of his popularity, but it feels wrong to see him fall like this. RIP to a real one. Never forget that if you're not part of the 41%, then you're part of the 59% that will someday cancel someone else. Something to live for.
