Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

My own anecdote on this is I noticed it follow the short lived "water niggas" meme, in which people were calling themselves that and telling each other to stay hydrated, but not in that wholesome uwu bullshit way. It was dumb, but because the people calling themselves niggas included whypipo and other non blacks this could not stand and became rallies against, as there was even a subreddit with the same name before Reddit went completely insane. This trend got memory holed quick and the forced wholesometards took over, getting the sub banned or at least taken over and buried and coming up with safe terms like water homies, inevitably ending up with what it's like now.
well yknow what man ive never heard of this and i dont think i believe you
you made all of that up

Why? You find water in nature. And even if you take everything else out of your backpack and fill it with water it will run out on day three and by then you would rather have a fire or a sleeping bag in stead of empty bottles.
You better have a filter or iodine tablets with you, especially for downstream water, because every animal has pissed and shit in that stuff

most people don't go on several-day long hikes on unknown trails without having any kinda base to return to or otherwise a way to filter whatever water they might come across

that's usually called "getting lost"

Cuntspiracy, don't hate on which can be easily proven.

Noreturn covered the current tense of it, but above is linked the water niggas subreddit which went by r/waterniggas. Unbelievably, they actually got away with this in 2019 Reddit, Early 2019 in specific, maybe sometime in January, decent archives go no earlier and lasted sometime into April of the same year before being quarantined, not gonna bother looking for the specific archived date of that. Later public archive.
Everything past this is either a partial archive or shows the quarantine message.
Impressively for a sub that would quickly garner the Reddit administration's ire, they got to over 100k subbed users in less than half a year.

Although their posts weren't really edgy in any other way, their liberal use of the non-r sealed their fate in a post 2016 Reddit pretty quick.

Don't know if this place was actually the origin of this shit meme, but I can bet you that it was one of the main forces behind it becoming popular.

I bet most waterniggas and watertok are always thirsty due to type 2 diabetes. It’s a common symptom. It also allows them to pretend to be healthy when they talk about all the water they drink.
you know you bring up a good point
that aside, even without any medical issues, people who eat a diet of processed foods tend to require much more water intake than those who eat fresh food, since fresh meat, fruit and vegetables are inherently full of water and the minerals necessary to store and utilize it

Definitely. I thought gatorade was a meme until I worked in near 100 degree weather.
It IS a meme. I go hiking mid-day in the Arizona summer and you don't need much more than water and something with electrolytes like peanuts or trail mix of some kind. Gatorade is literally just salty sugar water.
The football players you see constantly drinking from their gatorade cups? Yeah that's water.

gatorade is being advertised as a quick source of electrolytes, which in and of itself is true
it being a meme implies this is either not true or not something you need
you saying "i dont need [source of electrolytes] i get by just fine with [source of electrolytes]" kinda defeats the point
