You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

Those streams or videos where either the video itself or the room it's filled in is just chock full of unnecessary clutter. Like random gifs or pictures for streams and cutouts and LED signs for rooms. Fucking ADHD Zoomer shit
What about those TikTok videos where it's very short clips superimposed to make a short?

Example. I don't know how to describe it.

That's what always struck me as weird about all.of the COVID prevention measures. It was always: "you need to do this FOR ME".

Why? I don't even know you. And we as a society have never truly operated as if we are beholden to anyone we don't choose to be.

And most people don't even recognize how unhealthy it is. Well, maybe they do. Maybe it's a power move to control people's behaviors with your feelings.

I always called COVID restrictions a large-scale abusive relationship for a reason.
The basic principle was always about sacrificing others at the time. Sacrifice the young to help the old. Sacrifice the poor to help the rich.

Okay, so you know when you give a meeting and proper protocol is to only invite people who would be useful, but those people forward the invitation and everyone accepts? And then your meeting turns into a bloated cast of thousands?

I swear, every collab application should have a designated "audience" tag for people who the organizer says "can only listen, voice is not active and can not enter chat."

Meetings: because all of us are dumber than one of us.

Try being on the other side of it and being forced to attend a meeting you really don't give a shit about and have nothing to do with

The corporate HR lady assigned to the site I work at sent me a meeting invite that is annoying me in numerous ways at the moment. She doesn't work at the site, of course, but calls into the site's bimonthly status meetings and has been saying for awhile that she wants to have a quick fun get to know chat with all of us. Well that is a common enough sentiment, but I figured I would be skipped over due to the whole nightshift thing, which is in line with my desire to never interact with the HR lady who I'd have nothing in common with and who is at least 1000 miles away from me. Hell, when the site lead got replaced 5 years ago he had the same kinda policy, taking everyone out for a 1 on 1 lunch over the first few months, and he didn't mind skipping the nightshift people.

Well she sent a meeting invite, placed some time on the outlook calendar. A little 30 minute block with "I'm <name>, your <corporate's rebranding of HR title>. Scheduling some time to formally introduce myself." So a 0-thought line to accompany the meetings, which would explain the 0 thought that went into the timing of said meeting: 2pm.

So now the bullshit icebreaking session has transcended the format that was initially intended. I count my options as follows:
1) Be a massive cuck and put forth the effort to get teams on my personal phone and actually be available for the meeting as scheduled.
2) Quietly no-respond the meeting invite and wait to see what happens when she realizes I'm not online or at work in any form when the meeting occurs.
3) Actually respond no to the meeting invite, citing the fact that it is outside of my working hours.
4) Respond affirmatively to the meeting invite and then no-show anyways.

Well, 1 isn't happening because like most cuckery it is just too much effort. 3 is probably the professional response, but it might result in her wanting to put forth the effort to actually finding a time that works. I'm going with 2. The real truth is I don't want to deal with a pointless meet and greet with HR lady and think that the fallout of handling it as "oh, I didn't read that email closely and didn't notice the time" after the fact is probably the best way to get that outcome.

Sadistic brown children who target animals make me wish with a burning passion that their darkie parents had been hucked back to where they belong with a fucking catapult. The outbreak of serial killers isn't just going to be a tranny/incel effect, knowing what kids like them grow up to be.

Please keep your pets safe, everyone.

2 is the way to go. If she’s really insistent about it being outside your work hours, push to get paid OT for it.

Speaking of work woes:
I’ve been getting pulled to another job at work. This job has injured three people (most of which were just filling in), and is staffed by less-than-reliable guys; so the person whose done it the most in the past year has been myself. I can do it without getting hurt just fine, but they’ve added regulatory equipment to the extent where it’s gone from a challenging but doable task to one where every step is a new aggravation.
I know I’m going to get dragged over there, rather than being left to just do my own job.

That movie could have been cool, but I think it was made for ticket sales in China, especially with that casting choice. I personally couldn't get over how it was set in Louisiana but it was so glaringly obvious that it was Los Angeles, including the people in it. Nicholas Cage was an awesome Dracula though
The same China woman will have a major voice role in Kung Fu Panda 4, released this year. It almost seems as if she's currently the go-to token Asian actress when a movie needs a token foreign women to play a part.

I've got a good one:

Whenever you browse the internet, forums etc, in search of advice on subject x, y, or z, what the best product is in a certain field/hobby, etc, in order to make a purchase down the line, or do some research. Hell, maybe you even ask the question yourself.

And instead of receiving advice from those morec knowledgeable than yourself, you get some smarmy dickhead, narc know it all who responds something like:

'The best 'x' is the one you really like,'

Or maybe it's

'Nobody can tell you which one is the best for YOU.'

Instead of providing helpful advice, these smug asshole oxygen thieves have just managed to write a bunch of nothing, saying nothing, and wasted everyone's time. Why not just dispense with some useful knowhow or recommendation instead of being a black hole of aphorisms and half wit comments?

That's right, because they may not even fucking know anything about the topic in question.

Funnily enough, these are usually the kind of dunces who will tell you to 'use the search function, this question has been asked before.'

The last time it was asked? 'Thread last updated Oct. 2 2007 12:03.'

I'm obviously talking about Reddit mainly, but I've encountered these people since the early 2000s on various BBS.

When you play a game on your PC with a playstation controller, and (because Microsoft) it presumes you are using an Xbox controller (different button labels) with no option to tell it otherwise.

A very first world problem methinks
I think you can fix that with DS4Windows

Took me ages trying all sorts of stuff trying to get my PS3 controller to work, don't want to install anything else to jeopardize it now it's working.

I'm trying out the TERF game. Don't tell Rawling I pirated it.

I believe DS4Windows doesn't change the prompts; that's built into the game. But I've used it sparsely.

With out posts combined, we've a solid "idk bro try it".
But I agree with him; just put in both prompts. You don't even have to make the assets for it; there are free assets.

...fuck, I have to find my steam controller.

DS4Windows lets you configure it to be detected as a PS controller. But yeah, it depends on the game if it has the PS buttons option, which many don't. So it may take mods to pull it off.

Just had my entire day's plans for tomorrow turned upside down. The idiot scheduled an event for 6-9pm. Turns out, it's actually 7am - 3pm. I had planned to move tomorrow. Now, I'll have to get up early, duck out part of the event if I can't reschedule a service installation. I explained my plans to them earlier in the evening; only for this to be dumped on me at the end. Thanks.

Planning is not difficult, calendars are not difficult. Don't send out a calendar invite that says 6-9pm if that's not the fucking time.

The same guy, tried to explain the id, ego, and super ego in regards to the alignment system in D&D. Incorrectly. But flexed his Master's Degree. The degree he never used. "Your character's action would make him chaotic." Literally fucking no. If something chaotic happens due to a lawful act, that does not make him chaotic. Taking actions that could result in chaos, does not make him chaotic. What matters is intent and how one reacts to said chaos if it happens.

Fucking Freud worshipping faggot.
