one of the things i find the most refreshing about this place is that people are much more willing to try and understand things and explain them to those who might not have been around during those times. i think this chugga stuff has done a good job at exposing that as time goes on there are fewer and fewer people left who really understand the culture of the old internet.
The reason I said he deserves a thread it's because he has a history of trying to cancel people he doesn't like and this whole incident with Emile started because Dalton saw a reddit post that called Emile "wholesome". Seems pretty cow behavior to me.
If you're willing to write one, go ahead. That being said, you shouldn't write it with the intention of whiteknighting him; the only person I can remember getting a thread that started majority positive was Rekieta, and that exception was mainly because he was in the sektur with Null (and look at how that turned out.) I am curious to see how far his internet footprint goes, because throughout my years of watching him I've never really questioned or bothered to look into what else he's done besides being on YouTube. I do recall in his Super Paper Mario LP that mentions starting a thread on GameFAQs asking a question about a level he was trying to beat that was met with people mocking him for already getting so far into the game the first day of release. Wonder if his account there is still up.

Exactly. There is an event that you can point to that signifies the old and new styles of the Internet: The YouTube adpocalypse. Before then, advertisers and payment processors didn't give a shit about their programs were being run on and thus people were a lot edgier and free with what they said. Nowadays, their rules have become so ingrained into the Internet you have people subbing bad words to get past censors (e.g. kill and its synonyms to unalive, ass to ahh) and retards that combat anything that is against hugboxing. It also doesn't help that retards that are usually problematic or difficult IRL like troons manage to slip into moderation positions because of how terminally online they are.
