Anyone else start off really liking Ben and then by the end of season 2 just thinking he was being a fucking asshole for no reason? It also clearly wasn't even a bit he seemed genuinely sick of the fish and pissed off.

I think the attack therapy and other cult tactics fucked with the Wiggers as well as the Fish.Anyone else start off really liking Ben and then by the end of season 2 just thinking he was being a fucking asshole for no reason? Jimmy should have been kicked out when he almost bashed Taylor’s skull in. He was always an unhinged person with or without production interference. I remember he thought that JC was a literal CCP spy. In the future, they need to have a zero tolerance policy for any sort of assault. On the day of the hammering, Jet told Dunyae, Tai, Trish, Brittany, TJ, and Tay to fuck with Jimmy.
A constant stream of negative and antagonistic messages was sent to Jimmy via TTS, a few by production.
Jet didn't allow Jimmy to isolate himself when things became overwhelming.
The escalation to the point of explosion was caused by Jet and production.
Jimmy wouldn't have endured with Jet in charge, but we will never know if Jimmy would have lasted if Jet were a rational producer.
Wrong. Jimmy should have been given a sledgehammer, and 50 tiny women freeloaders should have been added to the tank. The tiny women should have been given needles and the mission to prick Jimmy.Jimmy should have been kicked out when he almost bashed Taylor’s skull in. @ottorothmundShe's in the Betty telegram. According to her she gets beat by her boyfriend but she's stuck. It's a sad situation.
He was that way during S1 as well, its the character he is playing when dealing with the fish, the few times he pops up in the episodic format of S1 you can see him acting exasperated and annoyed with them over the shit in the closet, but whenever he is not directly dealing with them you can see that its an act. He is normally a mellow individual who is good at witty responses and appears to be a rather rational guy, when Tay was absolutely fucking obliterated and vomiting into a pot during that 10+ shot night he wasn't acting when he commented on how fucking retarded it was to get so wasted the night before the finale when you're going to be expected to be fresh in the morning, but he didn't seem aware that Sam basically incentivized Tay into doing it by claiming she was going be rewarded with an advantage if she did something memorable that evening.Anyone else start off really liking Ben and then by the end of season 2 just thinking he was being a fucking asshole for no reason? Did he delete his replies?@ottorothmund

Brian even had the perfect shit eating grin to be a proper villain. Look at this.

I partially blame Marvel/millenial writing for this. How many mainstream works in the past five years lay out a premise, then take that premise totally seriously and never give a wink-wink nudge-nudge to lampshade how ridiculous it is? Not all that many. It's totally understandable that they break the fourth wall every ten seconds, because that's what every character they were raised with does. After all, Deadpool does it and people love Deadpool.Yeah, Zoomies really don't understand how bad immersion breaking can be, nor how to be properly "meta". Of cast and production, only Sam and Tai really know how and when to break the fourth wall in a manner that's entertaining rather than disruptive or annoying, likely due to their experience with comedic timing.
I think Ben's anger started as a running joke but became real later into the season. You could tell he was actually angry and not acting.Ben is certainly better than Jet at comedic timing and how to behave on camera but he was also much less fun this season and seemed genuinely spiteful after a point. The whole house just seemed sour after awhile and I think that's a top-down issue.
Some of Ben's early season antics and interactions were great, especially the whole "metal in the wood" bit. But eventually I guess him being angry at the fish was no longer an act.Ben is certainly better than Jet at comedic timing and how to behave on camera but he was also much less fun this season and seemed genuinely spiteful after a point. First time listener, long time Fishtank watcher. I checked out this episode because I didn't want to hear Jon in the most recent ep... what even is this? What's the point? It's literally guy friends who want to turn their hangout session into a "podcast." Literally a fucking meme.I reiterate - listen to Hong Kong 2
you will learn to hate B*n proper, as I have; I spit when I hear his name ptui![]()
it's like the lottery, you lose every game you don't buy a ticket forwhat even is this? What's the point?
I definitely could sense that there was an open rift between the fish, audience and producers in the final week. All of this was derived from Jet openly telling the fish that they had rigged Trish's elimination, only for Tay to break it and that they had to rerig it. The fish immediately went cold on the show, the only thing they were interested in doing was just settling their ire with Fatty overstepping during the Chris Points skit, they were just looking for the exit and halfassing challenges just to pass the time since the alternative was mind numbing boredom, the producers seemed to understand this and did the beach day thing, but nothing is more annoying to a person than being forced to drink and socialize when they do not want to, and it just ended pissing the fish off even further. The audience would send TTS to the fish shit talking the show and Tay would agree. I had another clip of Tay Trish and Oliver sitting in the living room near the fireplace and just talking about how the production crew had basically given up and there was no plan left for the show.I think Ben's anger started as a running joke but became real later into the season. You could tell he was actually angry and not acting.
Honestly, the milk challenge they did the very next day woulda killed him off too. And the Ikea beds. Probably would have been worse with the ikea beds.On the day of the hammering, Jet told Dunyae, Tai, Trish, Brittany, TJ, and Tay to fuck with Jimmy.

Ben has a lot of potential comedically (content house record, metal in the wood, TTS, pretending to board up Fatty after Tay did it, etc.), but the TJ beef left a sour mood on me in terms of him as a person. TJ's an inexperienced retard, going physically full force on him was petty and dangerous.Anyone else start off really liking Ben and then by the end of season 2 just thinking he was being a fucking asshole for no reason?
